    Thanks for the speedy reply.

That's too bad. The obsession with thinness and lightness is absurd. They should get the fundamentals right.

Supposedly the UHD only flickers at above 20k Hz? Anyway, I hate the glare.

I'll wait for some user reviews on the T460p and E7470 and see which one has fewer problems. I think the T460p is already thin enough. 5mm / 0.5kg is hardly the big picture. Much better to have the quad core + SATA3.

Just to clarify - the PWM flicker on XPS FHD screen is only present on the very lowest brightness setting, if you increase it up a single notch it goes away. I wouldn't worry about it at all, I don't see myself using less than half brightness anyway, which is couple of steps before PWM kicks in. They should just adjust the lowest brightness setting to the level where LEDs can still operate without PWM and save themselves bad press, I don't recall any review of any laptop complaining that the screen is not 'dark enough'.

E7470 is an ultrabook, with an ultrabook class processor. If you're looking for something with a comparable quad-core, it would be the E5470 (or if you want the bigger screen and don't mind the weight and the 10-key -- the 5570 or the Precision 3510 which seems to basically be a 5570 with a ISV-certified GPU, or moving up to the 7510.)

I'm strongly leaning towards just ordering a T460p or E5470, as well.

I havent noticed any double key errors.
What bothers me right now is:
    - Key backlight time out way too short, and it should be possible to get rid of completely!
    - Tab key rattles, not sure if its a foult though.
    - When plugging in headphones, some times the audio drives doesnt swtich to headphones (and cutting speakers) directly, but if Im for example watching youtube I sometimes need to reload the page. I am running the stock windows audio driver as I hate the sound bs realtek/dell driver.

I use my screen at the lowest brightness all the time. Is the 5510 darker that usual? I also read somewhere that the UHD flickers at 20k Hz starting from 6/10 brightness (probably not a big issue).

In France, E5470 has no i7 option. Half of the models also use U series processors.

Need help... I try to recover my data from SSD in extra slot into m.2 disk but no matter what software I use (Acronis/EaseUS) no m.2 can be found in partitions.

Any magic I need to do?

I haven't experienced the double key problem on my system. I have an entirely different problem set that I guess I have to live with, but the keyboard isn't one of them. Mine revolves around graphics card problems, streaming video stuttering in any browser which causes a stutter in programs like ACAD. In general I have been very disappointed with the graphics integrated/discrete performance. I think it is in the driver software rather than the hardware, but I have no options at this point.

I'm sorry, meant to say I have the FHD screen with the low-brightness flicker.

agree with Phinehas that the video driver is a mess. I get occasional screen freezes

screen freeze is Dell all along

my old M6500 does that from time to time, too. usually, the driver then crashes and reloads. the screen shuts down for a second and turns to max brightness. recently, it just freezes. I guess the graphics card is retiring soon

Got my 5510 yesterday, and the 256GB M.2 PCIe drive is DOA. Already opened a case with Dell to have a replacement shipped. I ordered with a 500GB HDD as well, and was going to replace that with an SSD. So, I put a Samsung 850 SSD in it and was able to load Windows 10 and the machine runs just fine for now.
