There is no issue at all, you can simply replace the 4000M with 680M, that's it

680M is a very good card with awesome OC ability, which could handle almost all games in FHD ultra-high setting.

    Thank you guys
May there be any problems with "physical" incompability, e.g. heatsink?

The only thing to look out for is the back x bracket in the gpu. You need to have one as the one that comes with the gpu inside your m6600 is glued with double sided sticky tape. I just buy one on ebay or you will be forced to reuse the one you have and it won't look that good. I went from a 3000m to a 7970m and I reused the one from the quadro but it's just temporary as I ordered a new one from ebay.

Do you have a regular or IPS screen?

    Regular screen. No IPS.

For 3000m/4000m to 680M, or M8900 to 7970M, the x-bracket is the same, so the user could reuse it

For M8900 to 680M, or 3000m/4000m to 7970M, the x-bracket is incompatible, one brand's bracket does not fit the other brand well, and it would cover some electronical parts, resulting potential issue
