Hey, just a quick update from the coil whine front.
Apperantly the importers in my country (EMEA - emerging countries) have ceased to bring the E5570 (i5-6440hq + amd).
I have no idea if the coil whine problem is limited to this configuration (or region) only. probably not.
For anyone that is even considering to buy it, check in google for threads in forums about the e5570 coil whine, and look for it in the notebookcheck.pl review. Otherwise it's a great laptop. Just buy it from a store that will be willing to take it back if needed (and be prepare to lose some time and efforts).

Mine had an annoying coil whine when plugged to AC, and dell service recalled it without even sending a technician.

About the heating, i couldn't tweek the fan speed also. The heating was much worse in mine, since it had a dgpu and an elongated heat pipe or whatever but the base was significally hotter than on john's review (john's e5570 is without a dgpu). As a workstation its great, but it's not possible to use it on your lap.

    Hey John!
Do you have or does someone have any idea if there's a suitable bracket and cable for 2.5 sata out there? (Apperantly the bracket from e5550 isn't compatible). Sadly It's not possible to find the original part anywhere.

Have you tried contacting Dell for the brackets? Right here in my country, they will provide one for you if you request for it.

    Where are you from?
Yea, i spoke with a dell representative from the parts&upgrades departement + technical department (USA) twice on the course of one month. I was told that the parts are missing nationwide. they also refer me to a compatible e5550 bracket - whice isn't compatible.

Odd thing regarding these Latitudes :/
My store just received a second piece of E5570, with the same problem as the first they received (and returned). It's the problem @bycicl reported as well, some really high coil whine while plugged in.
I now wonder if i should try a 3rd piece, or just look at something else. It's been two weeks since i placed my order, and i think i have to be really lucky to get a proper one, without issues.
I asked the guys at the store to try and install the latest BIOS, see if it corrects the issue.
I thought Dell have a better QC...

What should i do? Stay on the E5570? Or look at a different model (namely Lenovo T560?!)?

LE: to be clear, i also ordered the laptop in i5-6440HQ + AMD configuration .... other configurations are ok?

Coil whine in i7-6820HQ AMD R7 M370 card also (user named m.kores from dell community). I think that i spoke with another user that also had coil whine in an i7 cpu configuration.

    Proud owner of a Latitude E5570 :)

I got the 4GB RAM out and installed 16GB Corsair Value RAM. Also updated the BIOS.
I managed to install the SSD in the WWAN slot, but here i need your help.
How do i activate it? Need a guide or something if you guys have.

Also, i noticed a slight "buzz" while using the touchpad in IE.

For now, that's all. I only got 20mins working with it.

Also, what programs do you guys use to show all the information about panel manufacturer etc.?

Does the drive show up in disk management? You may just need to create a partition on it to initialize the disk.

    Try HwInfo.

This was the guidance provided for the E5470.

What is the make / model number of the SSD which you put in the WWAN slot?

    John
