    Whistling when keyboard backlight is on - anyone have similar experience? My E4200 do such unpleasant noice, it relates to backlight operations, in both on battery and AC. Is your Dell doing the same?

    Another noice, quiter but higher frequency, is produced when Dell is on baterry, it relates to voltage regulation. I know that this is common at low-end models so surprised to hear it at the E4200.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Is the battery suppose fit snug with no loose play? i just got a 58wh battery and it loose. i never really noticed this before because i had the smaller flush fitting 28wh battery. but now i notice that the smaller battery is loose but not as noticeable because its flush with the body.

    I'd like to know which of these drives, If Any, has a 220mb/sec transfer rate..
    Because even tho most don't have any Tech specs. (like most Dell Parts) ONE does, and it's claiming a 150mbs rate;

    While traveling I put my E4200 into Battery Saving mode and it turned off all the Windows 7 Aero and all that.....how do I get it back to normal?

    EDIT - Looks like a reboot fixed that up. :)

    Just installed the backlit keyboard and the difference is night and day. I was ready to ditch my e4200 for one of the e7300 11.3" notebooks out there because that trampoline keyboard was driving me nuts. $50 and 5 minutes of my time later and it feels like a different machine. Firmer and quieter. Best upgrade for it yet.

    Is anyone running the standard battery that sits flush with the back? Would like to lessen the footprint and weight a touch. Even the slice battery with the standard battery would be preferable to fit in my small bag. The extra height of the extended battery makes it hard to zipper shut.

    I have a e4200 with the backlight upgrade. I also got the standard battery (28 amp hour) to avoid it sticking out. The machine is very light in this config.

    I picked itnup off ebay for about $40, but i had to wait a few weeks to get that price.

    Since Intel announced their new line of ULV cpu's based on new architecture I was wondering if some one found some news on a 'to be announced' successor for the E4200. The whole E series got updated except the E4200.
