Oh ok, that explains it =)

Over here, days run for 24 hours, so it's the same. 20% in 24h = 10% in 12h. In any case, that works out to a 5-day standby time, which means... I never shut down my computer any more.

    Thanks for the tip!

The latest Dell Windows 7 video drivers fix the backlight adjustment problem. Now the backlight can be adjusted with the ambient light sensor enabled or disabled.

Microsoft (Vistz Biz), HotFixes, and security updates are EATING the space on my 64GB SSD (ultra) alive.. and they never stop.
It's been 7 months and I only got 7 more at this rate.

Any way to delete some of the 'updates'/'fixes' the INCOMPETENT Turds/Reverse-engineers at MSFT are burying me with?

I noticed that dell.com now lists Latitude ON as an option available for $199 in the US.

    Anyone ordered yet?

I'd like to see a review of this, and just see just how valuable it is.

The idea of having a separate, embedded system sounds pretty sweet, and pretty useful.

I have this module on my E4200 and it's pretty neat. If I just want to surf a little I always use the LatitudeOn. It's fast (when it comes out of standby, initial boot takes a little longer) and is battery friendly.
The browser is Firefox but there is no flash support, I think, not by default.

And if the LatitudeOn environment is not sufficient, you can swap very easily to windows.

I have a Dell Latitude E4200. Half the time the battery doesn't charge. It does not have to do with the option to disable charging when plugged in. It is broken. I changed the mother board and still have this problem. This is pathetic given the notebook is VERY expensive. i should have bought an HP or a Toshiba.

Have you worked with support? Or did you just register on here, post that one comment and be on your way?

If you want a laptop loaded to the hilt with JUNK, buy an HP. More crapware than any manufacturer out there. Try and get rid of it and watch the laptop not function correctly. Try and reformat it and use a clean copy of XP/Vista/7 and you can't find drivers.
