Mine came in today, I i do like it. The weight is incredible, the performance is perfectly great. The keyboard (non-backlit) is fine, touchpad is decent.

The big battery is a bit lame, but I couldn't see going with the smaller one.

The speaker is the most shockingly horrible piece of hardware I have ever encountered. I was expecting bad, but not quite THAT bad.

One question though - mine came without the WWAN "wings." Can I still use the wwan card or am I out of luck? Seems a pity to buy an expresscard model when i could have an internal.

earlier in this thread, it was said that some are shipped with a very bad toshiba lcd panel that has pink stripes somehow and bad viewing angles and some are shipped with a good samsung lcd panel.
maybe all that was only last year and now they use different screens. i don't know. you could ask the seller or talk to a dell guy (you can chat with them online)

Well if I do get the dell it be from their outlet section as they have some nice prices(under 1k) for these, so I would take it these could have the bad Toshiba screen?

Will upgrade Wifi Card to 5300.. but actually like the smaller Flush 4 cell for short outings to beach/In bed, etc. A 'Netbook' for older guys who needa little bigger screen.

Any Recommendations on 5300 card upgrade beside the fact I need a 'half-mini'?
    Which?, How?, etc.

I would not recommend taking your laptop to the beach. That's just me!
