Dell Latitude E4200 Info

Look somewhere else. The E4200 is pretty loud, especially when you work it hard.

 

Sorry, at the moment this thread has the most extensive repository of E4200 info on the intraweb. Hopefully that will change soon. I wonder why it has been so difficult for even a mainstream site like pcmag to get a unit in for a review.

The E4200 fan is not completely silent so perhaps some of the owners can chime in.

 

No, the fan is definitely not silent, not even when doing basic tasks like web browsing.

Hope is the last thing to die, but i really believe that they would add it within November (so said a dell rep during a chat session)...
Moreover i try a chat session with an italian rep (i came from italy, the link to get to the chat in dell.it is not as visible as in the other dell's sites ) and she said that she don't think LatON will ship...
So my latitude will be a christmas present

I just got a E4200 with the 64gig ultra performance SSD that is pretty nifty.

I would like to find a user with the 64GB Dell Mobility Solid State Drive SSD so we can do some benchmark comparisons.

My spec is Windows XP Pro, 2gig, 1.4ghz.

it`s no easy choise for a student like me 2000€ for a non reviewed laptop...
On the dell Page the infos are quite few... some specs some pic no colors...

I have purchased e4200 and it is on it's way and should be here on Monday or Tuesday. Has anybody had any experience with the 128GB Dell Mobility Solid State Drive? I have seen a lot of feedback concerning the 64GB Dell Ultra Performance Solid State Drive but not much on the 128GB drive. Did I make a mistake does the Ultra make a huge difference?
