Displayport is ranging from 8+Gbit/second to 17+Gbit/second (DisplayPort - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
The wireless connection is rated at a nominal 7Gbit (Wireless Gigabit Alliance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
With desktop application with relatively little screen change rate this should be ok once some compression is applied.
For a game of a full screen video at 2560 resolution this might start to become more problematic: if you don't need the additional screen for a similar use you should be ok.

I appreciate the insight. Gaming not much of a thing for me anymore. Although Linux gaming *is* starting to pick up. Oh yeah, that brings up the question does this Wireless Dock (D5000?) require software level compatibility i.e. work with Linux? Either way, it'd be much better if the 6430u HDMI port just spit out my 2560x directly. Dell Live Chat rep of course said "Just 1920" but it seemed like a standard "look up in response playbook" answer.

Just an FYI. I ordered the 6430u with the WiGig Dock and the machine will ship May 9th, the dock will ship June 12th! Reports from colleagues are that there are quite a few issues with the dock (disconnects and bluescreens seem to be most common).... Hopefully Dell will get all the bugs ironed out as at least on paper, a wireless dock looks like a great idea!
