Take note Lenovo, this is how a 14" business ultrabook should be specified:

    1600x900 matte option
    Gigabit Ethernet
2x sodimm up to 16gb ram (standard RAM - great!)
Up to 256gb SSD (assume mSata)
Replaceable battery (3 cell & 6 cell options)

Coming soon - New! Latitude 6430u Ultrabook | Dell UK

None of that proprietary nonsense, all user-replaceable components. IPS would be a good option, but not essential.

I was gonna post this but was on my phone so I didnt feel like searching lol.

Anyway, I like it a lot for all the things you mentioned. Only things I'd wish for are a high resolution display: 1336x768 is beyond criminal, and possibly dedicated graphics.

We can't have it all I guess...:(

    Thank you for the link.

eh.. I don't know what happened with the latitude's design since the E6420.

This one just doesn't look that exceptional at all. I would rather opt out on that xps 13.

The general design is still there, they just toned it down a lot to address complaints from E6400/E6410 users who went "NEIN!" to the E6420's orange keyboard surround.

The Latitude 6430u does actually have an option for a '14.0” HD+ (1600x900) Anti-Glare LED-backlight' display as quoted on the Dell website under Specs.

    Whelp, in that case:

I keep telling myself to get a tablet/laptop hybrid...but the latitude is so well done. Also, it doesnt have dedicated graphics.

I can't seem to find the 1600x900 display option on the 6430u. Where are you finding it?

    Latitude 6430u Ultrabook

Seems like they removed that option...likely a mistake in the specs. It's a shame too as having the high-res panel (and perhaps optional dedicated graphics) would put the 6430u on the top of my list.

Agreed... 720p displays are very inadequate for anything other than basic web browsing. 1080p is not necessary for me but I'd consider it.

This ultrabook should have 900p as base configuration and 1080p as optional upgrade.

I spoke to my Dell rep late yesterday: Dell is having 900p panel display supply issues. Don't know if the issues will be permanent... I just hate waiting around for vaporware.

What I'm really interested in is the wireless docking station that will be released in the "future". I only found out about it by configuring a model. The Intel 6300 wireless chip is incompatible with the wireless docking station- make sure to pick the 6205 instead.
