PXE stands for Preboot Execution Environment. It's one way to boot a computer over a network.

After about a good month and a bit of talking with a seller and working out shipping, I finally got a D630 with a bit of help from family/ friends to help me pay it out. Here's the specs!

    Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5 Ghz (6MB cache)
    4GB DDR2 Memory PC2-5400
    Intel Wireless-N 4965N Card
    14.1" WSXGA 1440x900
    nVidia Quadro 135m 128mb
    120gb 7200rpm HD
2.8yr Next Business Day Onsite Warranty
    9-Cell Extended Battery
    Windows Vista Business

Price was $860 shipped. I'll be spending the next while installing stuff onto it. Nice!

Wow WabbaJ, only 860$ shipped ?
How did you get that price? I am trying to buy an almost identical D630 but the website show me a way higher price!

    Thank you

I saw a thread of somebody using D830 with 8GB RAM with the new A13 BIOS. Has anybody with a D630 tried this?

    Hey bud,

I learned that you gotta be patient when looking for a deal, and listen to other people's opinions who know more than you, and see what they can recommend. I had a lot of help from good NBR peeps.

I guess I got lucky with the deal. I love this D630! Evertyhing about it is lovely.

The seller was a real nice guy also. I must have emailed and PMed him over fifty messages.

Bottom line: websites are usually great, but can't beat private sellers. Unfortunately, you better be prepared to search for 2 months for that sweet deal. That's what I learned. Good luck with your search!!

    I have a question:

Is there a way I can turn off the screen while keeping the computer on, similar to what Acer laptops do by pressing "Fn+F6"?

The computer doesn't go to sleep, but rather the screen just goes black, saving battery and preventing you from getting distracted.

    Any ideas please? Thanks!

If you use Vista, you can use the Monitor Off Tile for Windows Mobility Center. :)
