    Hi all,

The question is fairly direct form my simple point of view.

I might get a new M4400 soon and I would like to know if I could also play games on it.

I am not interested in playing games like Crysis in full detail. I can very easily accept a downgrade in graphics.
But will I be able to play them in general or will I be stuck with older ones?

    Cheers

It should play games great with FX770m,better than a M1530 anyway.....if you wait until september, the info PDF says a FX 1700m will also be an option which should be better again.

FX quadro's have openGL features added, not D3D gaming features taken away, they will run games just as well as their geforce sisters.

    Thanx for the info.
So if I understand correctly in the FX line there are only added features and not others taken out.
Is it also true that it is based in the 9600 series?

Btw are there any kind of metrics for this card (not necessary game benchmarks) comparing it to older FX versions?

    Here you go: http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/precn/en/workstation_precision_m4400_brochure.pdf

I haven't seen much info on the Quadro FX 1700M but I'm guessing it's going to be similar to the 770M, except with higher clock speeds. The Quadro comparison chart on Nvidia's website indicates that the two cards are similar, so I think the difference will be in clock speed and power consumption.

    http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadrofx_go.html

By the way, I too am looking for benchmarks and real-world gaming performance for the 770M. I know it's not meant to be a gaming card, but the M4400 is one of the few laptops that has everything I need!

Finally, I found this thread with the FX 570M's gaming performance on a Thinkpad T61:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=223806

Judging by that thread, the 770M should be a pretty capable gaming card!

Yeah, give it a week or two and reviews should pop up. Also, if you're interested in the M4400, you might want to check out the HP Elitebook 8530w that comes out next month. It has similar hardware but looks somewhat better, I think.

Sadly I can't get anything other then Dell, Radioshak, walmart or Officemax and the other 3 have old Lappys that they haven't updates in while on them so I'm pretty much stuck with Dell.
But I like how the M4400 looks better then that Hp Cause it's all black
I'm just worried about it's build quilty
    And gaming performance

That's unfortunate, spajix - you're quite limited in your options then. I like the rippled LCD back on the M4400 but the insides are too plain! :p
