For those who tried with Nvidia chip, which software did you use?

I remember msi afterburner having maximum speed too low. Which ones open up large head room for a good oc?

I use sapphire TRIXX with the ATI card, not sure how it works (if at all) for the Nvidia cards.

Ah for nvidia I am out of date. But for AMD ATI Tool hands down as it lets you control voltage.

I think Rivatuner was the best I used to use but that was back in the 8600M GT era. Still I used it with a radeon 4670M too and it worked fine.

Hopefully someone with a up to date nvidia card can chip in soon.

I need a utility that has no limit for what value you can set the clocks to.

    STABLE CLOCKS for 4000M:

    475mhz -> 750mhz (50%)
    1250mhz -> 1675 mhz (35%)

I can push a bit further for the core, but I witnessed some artifacts in furmark so I will leave at it.

The reason why I only got 35% for memory is because I couldnt find any program that can push over 1675mhz. msiafterburner got me this far. I used systools as well.

PLEASE SOMEBODY tell me any programs with no mhz limit so I can push this baby far to Mars.

    3dmark11: 3620

it was like 2420 before oc

Have any of you overclockers ran a benchmark on your GPU while overclocked? Also, is your CPU throttled down due to the limits of the 240W power brick? And if so, what is the performance gain after the CPU has been throttled?

In my experience, no cpu throttle. 240w is more than enough after oc.

If anyone can tell me a software that can push 1675mhz+ for ram, I can show you guys the absolute maximum oc for the quadro 4000m

I found the program called Nvidia inspector that essentially has no limit.

The funny thing is, with 50% for core and 40% for mem oc, the clocks do not throttle and drivers do not crash. but with furmark the gpu usage will throttle up and down severly and constantly. Not sure if this is due to lack of power for the whole gpu board. But it probably is.

If dell allowed some voltage oc or if we can find out bios mod, we can unleash some serious potentials with these cards...

Edit: 3dmark11 runs without any throttling.

This is my final result, very stable:
    760mhz (60%)
    1750mhz (40%)

Overall with 3dmark11, I saw 50% flat performance increase. Not bad,.

I can push both of them further. Seriously because I have not yet seen any crashing. But I will keep it this way.

To those interested in the result I am attaching the picture.

    GPU Core (60%)
    Before: 475mhz
    After: 760mhz

    Memory (40%)
    Before: 1250mhz
    After: 1750mhz

    3dmark11 (53%)
    Before: 2420
    After: 3710
(Slightly higher than stock 580M or 6990M score)

    Furmark temperature
    Max: 77c

I think the memory is probably Samsung or Hynix. 40% increase should be considered solid high for vrams.

For those interested in the raw power of Nvidia chips, consider possibility of safe overclocking that will provide some serious boost in performance. Nvidia has truly perfected this new Quadro line up. Kudos and ATI will not be able to match this. At least for a long time. I highly recommend the Quadros as they are very stable even under these intense conditions.
