Isn't it around 6 lbs? That doesn't seem like it would be all that heavy. But I'll probably sing a different tune after lugging through airports a few times.

Also, what's ya'lls opinion on the Vostro refurbs?

Vostro 1510 would have been a good choice. But it doesn't have s-video out :(

maybe I could live w/out the S-video outlet. My presentations do not require really sharp imagery. Are there any good deals on the 1510 that you know of?

Well. I bought mine at Dell.ca. They are on good sale now too.

Here is my user review of Vostro 1510. I hope it will be helpful

Let me know if you have any questions about it. It's a little bit more expensive than the Vostro 1500 but a lot lighter.

From what I've read, the 1510 doesn't actually have an s-video port even though it says that on the Dell website. I would definitely double-check that.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read that someone already said that

The 1500 starts at 6.33lbs, and the 1510 starts at 5.72lbs. IMO, not a great deal of difference.

Yes. Dell.ca does say the Vostro 1510 has an s-video port. But in fact it doesn't.

Maybe I should go to court :p
    :D

EDIT: Dell.ca said the laptop had s-video out at the time of the purchase.

Thanks for that review, it was informative. The specs for the one that you seems like it might be a bit of overkill for me. I'm going to check out Dell.ca right now. I'll let you know.
