I did get the RGB LED, but not edge to edge. It's matte.

Thanks. I'm hoping that Dell Canada will offer the RGBLED option on the silver model.
That's strange why they did that with the E2E (glass over a matte). You're getting none of the benefits (other than cosmetics) of a typical glossy screen and all the negatives that normally accompanies a glossy screen. Hell I wouldnt get that even if it cost less than the silver.

Nope. In my opinion, at least, it is more copper than orange.

Has anyone actually compared both versions side by side?

Unfortunately the non E2E wasn't available when I ordered, and it'll be a complete pain to send my covet back and reorder. I wonder out of interest whether the non E2E could be fitted to the E2E lappys easily

The Covet is only available with the E2E screen! If you want the orange, you need to stick with the E2E screen. The screens can be changed very easy (just read the service manual) but Dell won't change the display. I planed to order a WXGA+ screen and upgrade when the RGB LED was available, but that is no option. Perhaps you can order the display from somewhere else, or tell Dell you destroyed yours, but that would be more expensive than getting it directly.

I get my silver E2E M6400 tomorrow and will especially look for that strange matte under a glass plate thing. If it doesn't have better contrasts than my M4400 with matte LED + the reflections, I will send it back. It sounds really ridiculous, I can live with the reflections but want therefor the better contrasts!

I don't know what the M4400 is like, but this is the best screen I've ever had, reflections or not reflections. You may have to tweak brightness/contrast etc though. I was seeing things on games I've playwed that I've never seen before. On older screens light blue and light grey could often be confused, for example, but not on this screen.

When I first turned on the machione I though Dell has put on the difital vibrance setting as the colours had so much POP. I also tend to use the screen a few notched from minimum brightness as that is plenty bright for my purposes

I will compare the E2E display with the matte LED display here. If it has a better contrast I'll keep it. If it's the same, I will ship it back and reorder the same M6400, just without the glass plate :D

When are you receiving the E2E machine? You have a date yet? I'm sure would all like to hear the differences

I sent the review to one of the notebookreview editors but i never got a reply. :( Maybe it was not professional enough...Well as long as those who read it ffound at least one information useful, thats all that counts..

P.S I was going to update the review buti have been too busy. I have 4 deadlines to meet this week and also learning php. free time is non-existent to me.
