    ha ha ha...

my heart and my wallet is fighting again...

i want the Covet, orange, with E2E screen... but honestly, i'm more than happy to have a P8600 processor and 80GB HDD, 1GB RAM and even the CCFL... but i really like the orange...

so if i can satisfy myself with the rest of the specs, i was thinking that when the warranty wears out, i can send the shell to get anodized...

just being crazy on a monday.

Towards the bottom left corner of the touchpad, you should see an icon that looks like this ©.
Touch with your finger and the jog shuttle should come on.

Thanks for the reply! I have done it so many times and nothing! Do i need to run some certain applications to activate the jog/shuttle function? Do i need to download a driver for it from dell web site? Please help.
    Regards, Max

Did you uninstall dell's control point software or do a clean installation of windows?

If you did then you might have gotten rid of the driver for the jog shuttle. If not go to Dell's website support section, select drivers and download and choose your model and its OS. under input drivers, select synaptics driver. Download and install. that should solve your problem (restart)

Make sure you try pressing it properly...i find that to switch it on without pressing the button repetitively, all you have to do is press the icon once with a very light touch and it responds just as it is suppose too.

Under INPUT DRIVERS there is only INTEGRATED WEB CAM DRIVER. There is no synaptics driver. Any ideas where i can get that one?
P.S. I installed a new copy of windows ultimate x32 and downloaded and installed all drivers and applications from dell website but the touchpad doesn't light up:confused:
    regards, Max

P.P.S. Apparently the jog/shuttle driver only works with 64x OS!? Because when i chose vista x64 the driver was there but when i went back to vista x32 the driver is not there. That is nonsense
