There is nothing disconcerting at all about no one responding to that issue. Dude needs to contact the company that he got it from instead of asking over and over in a random forum.

You should ask for a replacement form the people you bought it from. If a new BIOS isn't fixing it, then it is a hardware issue and you can only fix it by changing the physical keyboard. This can be anything that is from a bad connector to the beyboard having a short somewhere.

Hello, new here, was considering getting a nice laptop, and i have my eyes on this beast and msi gt73vr.
I want laptop for college fest, and wanna show then a laptop modded with liquid cooler, so want suggestions to go with,
Anyone can post some cinebench benchmarks (multi and single core)of 8700k at 4.0ghz in this laptop?(also anyone with a laptop with i7 7820hk can post the same benchmark at 4.0ghz?)
    Thanks!

Sorry, no advice there, LM is quite dangerous if you move a lot or if you don't seal it well.

This will have much better CPU performance than GT73VR, that much is clear. No liquid cooling is adviced, or even necessary at this point

The liquid cooling station for some Asus laptops isn't the future, it is a poor hybrid combination, barelyt able to properly cool those, while Clevo's air cooling can cool desktop-grade CPUs....

At any rate, why would you stay at 4.0 GHz, when you can go much higher? I think that HID and other vendors offer thermal management good enough to make those run cool and high at the same time

I had the keyboard delay issue on my P870DM3 and @Prema fixed it back then with an EC Firmware update

We are working on this issue to determine whether it is in the Prema BIOS, or the EC, or a setting in Windows.

It is highly unlikely that it is a hardware issue since it can be corrected with a press of the Windows key. It is a bit of a puzzlement though since it has only been reported by a few users.

Once we have the issue resolved, we will report it here, and reach out to those users who have reported this issue.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

This is handled by the secondary keyboard controller, which is literally the only thing that is not modded on the P870TM1 PremaMod and comes directly from Clevo.

Last time we worked a week with Clevo to get the code fixed on the older model and now they again used their old and broken code for the TM1...

Looks like we will have to Mod that on the TM1 as well...I'll mail you a beta. Edit: done! ;)

Awesome! Thanks for the information Donald. Hopefully you guys figure out something soon. I contacted Tech Support a few days back(Zoltan) and he was shocked I was having the issue but didn't have a resolution for it just yet.

We'll see if it's hardware related as I had to order a new keyboard due to an unfortunate accident with gravity and my cell phone.

    Edit:
So hitting the FN key releases it as well. So it's not just the Windows key.

It is in the Clevo code, it is not hardware. Prema will fix it for Prema Partners...not sure how others will be able to fix it until Clevo does.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah, sorry, I had to. Mainly for all the nay-sayers.

No worries though man, I think we'll see a fix soon.

Yeah, I remember using the FN key too to fix it. I just use the windows key.
The problem seems intermittent, quite interesting almost.

Ooooooo, do tell when you have it replaced. Though I feel pretty confident in my educated guess that it's a software issue, not hardware. I guess your new board might confirm that! :D

anddddddddd Donald comes in with the Homerun everyone! :D
Thanks for the update Donald! I imagine further details will be pushed out to HID customers in regards on the fix, when available, yes?

Well, he has spend eternity in this modding, so no one can doubt his calls(or even neglect it).
Glad still a single person( @Prema ) fixes it in no time and a whole turd team at clevo cant, if i were owner of clevo, i would definitely not tolerate this, i mean, cmon, this is a 3000$+ laptop, and you use a 15.6 in laptop KB, that cant even properly work?!
(Btw, as we all know, clevo is best at everything except bios and KB)

Well guys i have another issue on mine. I got a P870TM1-G and my issue is my fan sounds like a turbine when i connect my display port cable to my alienware 34" 120hz monitor. It also shuts down on windows 7 after ive installed the driver for the gpu. What do you think it could be?

Win 7 isnt supported on the newer clevos now, and fan sppeds shows your gpu struggling to render things for your aw screen(which i believe is normal), if you do nothing on the screen, then, still i believe its nothing to worry about.

I took @Mr. Fox win 7 image but I couldn't get it to install uefi so I did I guess legacy anyways the fan sounds like a turbine when I'm just in the bios too. It only powers down after I try to run a game or connect my display port. I think it's either hardware related or bios related. btw i have 1080sli

I don't have TM but have same panel with its same insane DPI in P870DM. I never saw any negatives whatsoever from any non-native res at normal viewing distance in any game. If you really try to look for it, from literally a couple of inches away, I can see slight edge blur at a non-integer scale like 2560x1440 or 2880x1620, but at normal viewing distance I can't even see artifacts on text at windoze desktop in those resolutions. 1080p looks fine regardless, since it's 2:1 scaling.

It's nothing at all like the bad old days of downscaling 1080p to 720p and it looking like a vomitous fuzzy mess.

If you want 1440p or 1080p gaming, then why not go for 120hz 1440p screen? If you run 1440p on a 4k screen, then why to game on 60hz?

The video option needs to be set to Legacy on the CSM menu in the BIOS. Everything else can be UEFI.

Yes, it does sound like you are having a hardware problem. That is pretty odd behavior. What are the temps right before it shuts down? Is it overheating and having a thermal shutdown?

Not everyone has the opportunity to buy it there. For example, because of the huge cost of delivery (I'm from Russia) and problems with customs clearance. It's very sad that there is no way to get the mod in a different way.

I know not everyone can afford to pick and choose where to buy and pay the difference. That's really unfortunate. Sorry to hear that you are in that predicament. It's equally sad that any OEM/ODM releases broken products, but they all do it. If they were all good at what they do and cared about their customers they way they should @Prema would have a much easier job, too. He could focus on enhancements and not have to worry about fixing the messes that impair normal functionality.

You should see if you can find a matching stick for a good price. Instantly huge upgrade going from single- to dual-channel memory. Even 2x8GB of 2133 would be better than 1x16GB.

Yeah, memory and GPU prices are ludicrous right now. Sinfully overpriced, even. 64GB of DDR4-4000 can cost as much or more than a decent desktop CPU and motherboard.

@Prema would need to talk with them and work that out. I do not know all of the requirements. What would be ideal is for Clevo HQ to be the PremaMod partner and put him on a nice salary with benefits, or a handsome retainer he could live comfortably on, and every Clevo owner in the world would be blessed with a system that functioned correctly. That would also put an end to the piracy, intellectual theft and plagiarism to ruins things for everyone.
Not really, unless you receive it as a gift from him directly. Limiting distribution to PremaMod partner shops helps to distinguish them as superior (along with the added value services and support they provide in addition to Prema firmware) and minimizes the dishonesty factor, as noted in my comments above.

This is a fault of the B173QTN01.x where x is 0 - 3. The 4 (glossy, unfortunately for Matte-lovers like myself) does not have the banding issue. This is the fault of AUO and they seem to not care to fix it. It's the reason i did NOT take that screen on my unit when I had the choice too in the past.
I don't know if anyone did, but I am certain that the revised (read: actually useful) cooling system for the CPU in the TM line is necessary. According to people, my delidded undervolted chip gets similar temperatures under CPU stress to other peoples' overclocked delidded 8700Ks in the TM1, so shoving an 8700K in here is not going to do anyone any favours, and the cooling system does not transfer over.
Hey so I fixed your post for you, good looking out brother
