I also received a notification from HID that they are ready to install PREMA to my P870TM1 system. I'm excited.

Does this mean that all future orders from HID will have the PREMA BIOS pre-installed before it is shipped?

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on this one, but would very much like to see the unresponsive keyboard issue addressed/fixed, and possibly the newer Samsung 980 Pro SSDs made available.

The Mod should have the keyboard delay stuff fixed...it was something we worked on directly with Clevo back on the DM3, not sure why they ported the older bugged base to the KM1 in the first place.

I'm not sure on that one. That'd be a great question for @Donald@HIDevolution

I would too man. I mean, luckily I am able to hit the windows button to make the entire keyboard responsive again, but this is a new laptop. I shouldn't have to do that anyway, ya know?

Let's hope so. I'd really like if it fixed the keyboard issue. This is promising news, certainly makes me happy!

Yes, all EVOC High Performance Systems P870TM1 and EVOC High Performance Systems P870TM laptops being shipped now have the Prema BIOS.

Rumor has it that EVO and Pro are going away, to be replaced by 970 and 980...but when they will actually hit the market is still guesswork...probably months away still.

A 17" Slappa sleeve works very well for extra padding (make sure you get the shoulder strap with it though), although then the Everki padding sleeve becomes a very tight fit.
The issue you're referring to are the two "gaps" in the corner of the padding. I'm entirely certain those gaps are to prevent the padding from being torn by large laptops, by their sharp corner edges causing friction against the padding when the laptop is fully inserted. I looked my old Targus XL 17" backpack, and it has the same type of "gap" in the padding in those corners, but instead of there being a complete full gap, there's fabric still in those corners. The fabric makes large laptops not go down quite as far, and doesn't really add much shock protection there either. That being said, any sort of custom padding mod or sleeve is still useful.

Got the Prema bios today and first off I want to say thanks to Prema for this wonderful fix. Unfortunately I'm still getting the issue with the keyboard where you have to press the "windows" key to have it respond at all in the OS. Does anybody have any idea on how to fix it?

My NP9877 arrived on Wednesday and I love it

Just one small issue, there are small horizontal lines running across the entirety of the whole screen. Its not damage or anything, but just big enought o be slightly visible on anything thats not white

Is that a normal trait of the display or should I get in touch with my vendor about this?

    (P.S Its running 1080SLI with the 1440p 120hz display)

    @Johnksss

    Hey man,

If ya not too much trouble could I get your settings for the Ripjaws DDR4 3200Mhz modules that you are using?

I just got Prema bios flashed and the max I could get is 2666Mhz.

Trying to get to max stable clock settings for daily use and Benchmarking clock settings.

    Thanks in advance!

These posts have the answer for you. Basically a known issue, however it should be not too visible, if they are contact support from the company you bought your laptop from.

The thing has 3 fans that scream like banshees when its turned up as it is.

During development/engineering of new MB the engineers will design what could be useful for next model refresh down the road. They found out under testing of current model that the 3 fans and the 4th small heatsink grills was enough for this revision. And don’t forget more parts being used = less income.

It's also more noise having another fan (more importantly at a different frequency to the other fans) and another part to go wrong.

From our testing with stock firmware for CPU heavy tasks like encoding, rendering or benching things like Cinebench 4.7Ghz you hit a wall at around 4.7Ghz. For lighter CPU loads you can manage 5Ghz in 3DMark with a good undervolt.

I answered that question and gave you the stock firmware overclocking limits before the throttle kicks in in different usage/load scenarios.

On the Mod we have managed to go up to 5.3Ghz for a few tests with a non-silicon Lottery Chip:

    Just out of curiousity

Has anyone successfully modded the bios of a Z170 in a Clevo P870DM to run Coffee Lake CPUs?
If not is it possible to change the motherboard to a P870TM1 motherboard?

When will the 6-Core Mobile BGA chips come out?

Would you guys recommend this model over the P775TM1-G (assuming they both have the same configurations of 8700K and only one 1080) to avoid thermal issues?

CPU & GPU cooling on the P870TMx are a lot better. If money and size are no issue go for the P8.

Wow! While I don't think that I'll be overclocking anytime soon...to see this on a non lottery chip is encouraging! I do understand that the results vary from chip to chip but, if this is a side effect of having a Prema Bios, going with Hidevolution was the best decision I could have made regarding a new laptop.

    G-sync - Yes

    Frame Tearing - Yes

    Frame timing issues - Yes

    Typical Sli Issues - Yes

`I'm becoming more and more cynical by the day, but a SLI setup really isn't an answer when it really gets errors and it isn't usable with more than 20 apps.

To answer the OP's question, yes, external absolutely works with SLI, and G-Sync, but he should be aware of what Sli actualy means in practice.

I'd much rather have 1080ti than SLI of 1080, if this were an option.

You may need to change tRAS from 52 to 53

Set it to these settings and then reboot. Let it run till it finally comes on. It can take a few minutes to something like 20 minutes or so to boot. And it might even crash once or twice getting into windows. Once in windows. Shut down completely and restart. See if you are able to pass TM5 with 0 to 5 errors. If it has more errors than than that. Then try 53 for tRAS.

    Start there...

I never heard or seen this issue before, and have been using a P775 for almost a year now. I don't think you should worry about it

Because it's like two people who have reported this problem. The other majority do not have this problem. And the fact that he said he flashed a new bios and he still has the same problem, might mean it's something else. Since that bios is being flashed across many different machines and no new cases popping up...Yet.

Keywords here, P775. We're talking about the P870TM1 having this issue, not that one.

It's annoying and an issue that should not be present in a rig this expensive.

I have this keyboard issue on my P870TM1 too. I've had the issue both before and after the new BIOS.

Also, I don't think it's a keyboard issue, mechanically anyway. Hardware speaking, I think the keyboard is fine. I personally think this is a software issue of some sort. Just my 2 cents.
