    amd 6970
    500gb momentus xt
    stock wireless
    no os
has also ordered a 120gb vertex 3 to put in my caddy

and i asked them to put in kingston hyperx 1600mhz ddr3 so-dimms (2x4gb) this will work, right?

also i have some artic cooling mx-3 left. is there a big difference between this and, ic diamond? i would like better cooling, but its a bother to order more when i allreddy have some.

cant wait to get mine :p i have a stack of ram heatsinks i might put in it. anyone tried any heatsink modding on this yet?

this is almost exactly the same setup that I have ordered! According to the 1600mhz thread, 2x4gb at 1600 should work (if they are placed at the bottom of the laptop instead of under the keyboard).

I am wondering if there is a solution for getting bluetooth inside the laptop (instead of an usb thingy). There is a WWAN slot empty right? Maybe someone knows if its possible to het a bluetooth module in there? Its too bad the 6300 doesnt have bluetooth

concerning ur hard drives, i would rather hook up the vertex 3 with the primary SATA port instead of installing it inside the ODD caddy. this way u can ensure that it runs with full SATA3 speed!

I added a link to some pictures of my home theater in my sig. I use to have a computer desk in here, but wanted to focus primarily on optimal sound with speaker placement. The picture is somewhat old, the two racks on either side of the table have been taken out and wire management has been put in place. I use a Performance MX mouse on the couch (works great) and have a "dock" spot in the TV stand to hook this up to the TV via HDMI with the Xbox wireless controller adapter and wireless keyboard.

Well my last post in that thread says otherwise :(.
With me (2 * 4 Gb 1600Mhz kingston memory) using the primary memory slots is not working at 1600 Mhz, but only at 1333 with 9 timings.

I'm somewhat confused by this post. It's of a different model and you say that they are alike but nearly all points made in the review are not featured on the 8150. The casing is rubberized, there's no VGA button, the speakers are directed up, the keyboard problem is non-existent, etc... Your review is very biased which may not be bad depending on what the reader is looking for, but since it's very different from the 8150, I don't think it fits in this thread.

These model numbers confuse me, not just these brands but all companies do this. I found this thread from searching the site (bad search engine btw) then control f'd sager on the only result (A list of top threads) and looked at the clevo model number. This one is Clevo P150HM, the one I was looking for was Clevo W150HNQ. Sorry!

that's probably because you can't unlock XMP. It appears that 1600mhz is only available in XMP tables.
There are non-XMP memories now. Maybe someone could test it to see if it is an XMP issue or something else within the laptop.

i live in norway, so i ordered from MULTICOM / Velkommen due to the need of norwegian keyboard. prices are ridiculous here in norway tho, but that goes for everything.
    14500 NOK = 2600$

MEGA bummer that 2 x 4gb 1600mhz ram won't work @ 1600. but they will work as good as any other 1333 ram? and with a bios update it should be fixed in the future? i don't want to change my order again. the 1600mhz was cheaper than the stock ram, and i dont plan on going 16gig ram anyway.

tnx for the tip on swapping hdd's :) but will the 7200rpm get sufficient cooling in the caddy?

Yeah tell me about the prices, I can remember paying 2.5€ for a bread in norway last year. NL (where I live) or Germany is a lot cheaper. Too bad one.de doesnt offer international keyboards. Thats why I ordered at Eurocom, saved me a ton of money!

    New member here, lol.

Anyways... This weekend, I ordered myself a Eurocom Racer / P150HM. The only thing though, is I just found all of those threads where people were making out Eurocom as being sketchy and whatnot.

I read the reviews from Anandtech, and NotebookCheck before I ordered and figured that the company sounded pretty legit, but then I read up on them on this website tonight and now all of the complaints have me worried.

    The specs I ordered were:

    Matte screen/ i7-2720/ HD6970m/ 4gb (2x2gb 1333)/ DVD +-RW/ 320gb HDD

My total price (Pre-Shipping, in USD), is $1,710

And I just went on there website to go through everything I ordered, and they just raised the price of the 6970m upgrade by $95. I ordered it for +$66 over the GTX 460m a few nights ago, and now it's at +$161.

Needless to say, this sounds a bit strange to me, and I am somewhat worried. Maybe they just ran it of the ES cards? Man, I've been having some bad luck lately lol.

Thanks for the help and support,
    Frank

I'm sharing your worries. I ordered almost the same setup there as well. If everything goes well I have it at the end of this week. The customers service is pretty good by the way, they always reply within one day. The only mayor bummer is that they werent able to ship my pc in time!

EDIT: does anyone know if there is a way to fit a BT module like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-3-0-Bluetooth-BCM2070-Module-cable-probook-4311S-/220697788230?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33629cff46 in the P150HM?

They emailed me this morning saying It will be built and shipped late next week.

Anybody know the reason for the $95 price jump on their 6970m upgrade?

popularity? or could be like you said earlier. they moved from engineering samples to actual production versions..

not sure if that would justify that cost change or not though

Only thing I'd like the AMD more for would be if it came with a display port for eyefinity 3 screens... Can only power 2 off this thing. I brought it over to my boss's place where he has 3x 28" WUXGA screens, could only do 2 :(

It could be almost anything, but most likely supply and demand. Until now Eurocom was the only builder offering the 6970 on the 8150. Now pretty much everyone is offering it.

It's also possible they were using engineering samples before, but it sounds like they shipped a fair number of machines and I'm not sure they would have had that many engineering samples.

EDIT: It looks like their 485 prices went up as well, which would also imply supply and demand is the issue. It could also be an exchange rate issue since Eurocom is Canadian - although with the stronger Canadian dollar you would think if anything that the price in $CDN would go down.

after using my laptop for a couple of days i cant see how the trackpad can be such a big minus. imho it can only be a problem if you got sweaty fingers.
i found the keyboard a little too springy though..

    edit:
im trying to make the personal safe work though. when i had my 8690 it just worked right out of the box, but i cant seem to make it work on the 8150. i get the message that it is not a full retail version?

I have no issues with the keyboard. It's nothing special, but I haven't noticed anything bad about it either.

I can't stand the trackpad. It works, but that rubberized texture just doesn't feel comfortable. It's not a big deal since I pretty much always use a USB mouse anyway, but I can see why people don't like it.

Yeah, you're going to have to buy the full retail version in order to make it work, meaning you have to pay money for it.

Not worth it, IMO, and I removed it from my desktop.

Guys, some questions for my planning in regards to 8150 purchase.

    1) By default, the 8150 comes with 2x2GB RAM. Am I able to request to have Sager ship with 1x4GB RAM instead? Will there be extra cost to that?

    2) What is the brand of the 500GB 7200RPM HDD that comes with 8150 option?

    1) If they have single channel RAM then they could do the 1x4gb for you. Most resellers and builders will be able to do this.

    2) I am not 100% sure but I think its a Western Digital scorpio black ?

My country's resellers isn't that extensive, so I doubt they will do that on their own. So I was wondering, can I request thru my reseller to ask Sager build the laptop with 1x4GB instead?

RAM prices over at my side is cheaper than the upgrade option though. Sager has this policy to ship laptop with RAM, so I can't have a buy it without.

    oooo.. Thanks for the info.

Sigh. I really want to order laptop from you guys, but the extra cost is gonna kill me.

Due to Singapore's customs, I will need to pay 7% extra on top of the laptop cost. I still have not included the shipping costs.
Let's say the laptop is SGD$2k. Extra costs incur will amount to SGD$300++.

    Ouch! :( :(

We do have 2 of them in Singapore, which one of them is having a rather bad reputation.
The complaints I have for them is having rather bad service and lacking advanced customizations options such as changing to matte screen, barebone without RAM, etc.

I recall that someone from Singapore had recently bought an NP8130. His username was Ivanlyf or something. Perhaps check with them on how they got their machine.

Also, if you don't mind sharing who the Singaporean reseller with bad rep is (along with the why's of course), it can help others avoid having a bad experience. :)

Hey all i don't know if this is the right place to post this but i've recently discovered a problem with my p150hmb. all of a sudden the hotkey functions for f8 f9 (brightness controls) and f12 aren't working. and to top it off i can't adjust the screen brightness in power management either. i've already installed the newest hotkey drivers and reinstalled the old one and then switched back to the newest one but still won't work.

anyone know anything about this problem?
