You can reflash the BIOS again. Apparently some users are getting non working ports, and reflashing helped.

sequential read/writes dont mean much. but the vertex 3 also has very high random 4k performance at 60,000 iops and thats what actually makes it a blazingly fast drive.

Nice man! What's the cost over there? Convert to USD?

Hopefully OCZ is making legit drives now. I know some people like their current stuff, but I've seen to much sketchy stuff to give them my money atm. Plus Myth told me that i can't make any more changes to my config :p

Guess that means it's getting built? :D

They haven't released it yet. If you want a copy of it, ask your reseller and explain your problem to them. I'm sure they be glad to give it to ya.

Well.. I'm thinking.. Maybe I should just return this for a refund since I have a 30days total satisfaction guarantee right? I think I want to go with the Eurocom Racer with 6970M and Core i5-2540 for a little bit higher price.

My reseller was friendly. I won't return this if the BIOS reflash fixes the port. It sometimes freezes the taskbar when I plug the USB 3.0 HDD in there.

If you aren't happy with it, why keep it? :) although I don't recommend going with Eurocom. Doesn't seem to be a good choice at all IMO.

Seems like the real release of the 6970 is immanent. Shouldve be too much longer :) by the time you get everything squared away, and get your $ back, it'll be April, and hopefully we'll have more word from Sager

Edit: how does the 30 days work? Is it thirty days from the time you get it, or from the day they ship it? Either way, you still have atleast 2 weeks before you need to start the process. I'd say play with it some more, and put up with the freezes for a little longer. Then send it back :D

Bought Crysis 2 tonight, was able to play on "Extreme" setting with 27-35 fps with the GTX485 stock. During slow scenes and action scenes, it stayed fairly consistent. Same goes for multiplayer as well.

Some videos of Crysis 2? I can try making one later today. I'm not sure about the quality of Fraps, so if you know a better software, shout it out.

I'm quite curious as well! I think fraps will be sufficient, it does add a little bit of extra load on the cpu. I don't know if crysis 2 is harse on the cpu again, but you may notice a slight drop in FPS.

    Hi all,

I am debating between the 8150 and the 8130. If I do not plan to upgrade the GPU to the gtx 485m, is there any benefit of going with the 8150 over the 30?

I was thinking the screen is better on the 8150? I know lots of people don't like glossy screens, but don't they have better brightness and contrast?

Also for those who own the unit, how do you like the rubberized finish?

I think it will be on ebay as well a bit cheaper, maybe takes a month or so.

Well, I actually booked the 8130 but then changed my order to the 8150. The upgradability of the 8150 was just the selling factor for me.

The 8130 will be unable to handle extreme upgrades such as the i7 2920x or ati 6970 or the 485m. Another factor would be the rubberized finish on the 8150. I havent seen for myself but many say the 8130 has a plasticky finish.

There was a Canadian reseller (Aikimox) selling the 6970 cards, and I know I saw one on the NBR marketplace (fresh from an R3 w/ heatsink). Just fyi )

Only a matter of time till we get official bios support. Hopefully new bios will be much improved over the current lack-luster ones currently in use

Don't know about the 6970m but the 485 runs pretty cool...

    P2972 3DMarks on 3DMark 11 with stock config and 270.28 drivers...

Maxed at 67C under load, processor went to 69C...

This was running unigine Heaven followed by vantage followed by 3DMark 11

Anyone else getting low 3DMark 11 scores with similar specs as mine? (see sig). I'm only scoring 2770 marks with stock settings and the newer 266.40 drivers.

Any ideas what I can do to bump it? I know some people were getting scores over 3k.

Guess it OC's pretty ok? I know that's what some people are doing.. Ther was someone that had like 3400 or so in 3d mark 11. posted on the 485 overclocking thread.

But I don't think that's a bad stock score. Think some other people had around 2500 stock

I had the back elevated about 3/4 of an inch on a rail on my desk, and ambient temperatures are around 70F I'd say, so 21 C?

With even minor OC or newer drivers it should break 3k then I guess. But I wish the official version of these drivers would come out because the hacked ones crashed the system once last night. Not from Heat though I don't think... Unless its built to crash in the 70s C?

I ran it with fans forced to max though!

Guys, how long do you think before the 460m becomes obsolete? Im just an occasional gamer. I play games like bad company, COD and MOH.

Just try to squeeze in time between wards and classes for a few rounds. Haha, thats why I didnt think getting the 485 was justified. What do you guys think?

For the 460M, I'd say you still have a couple of years before it becomes a mid-tier graphics card. The great thing about Sager notebooks is that they are easily upgradeable. :)

Yeah I get that they are upgradable. However, I find that mobile GPU's are pretty much rare to be found. Usually the only way to upgrade is to ship back to the reseller yeah?

The game runs at a steady 30 fps +/- 3 even during high action times in both single and multi player.
Fraps wont show the FPS in the video, I can't find a setting to change that. There's likely a command in-game that will display it, however.

SC2 runs at a steady 60fps with average action. Under heavy scenes (full supply of units for yourself vs opponent), it may dip to 50fps. I have yet to see an instance where its gone below 50. This is with 1920x1080 res on Ultra settings.

When attempting to record with Fraps, the FPS drops to 30, even with little action on the screen. I can't figure this one out at all especially when running it on Crysis 2 made no difference at all.

just check out the overall benchmark results on that side for pcmark vantage, atto and crystal diskmark and orientate urself at the corsair F90, since it performs at like +/- 3% of the vertex 2 (they both use the same sandforce controller and NAND flash 34nm chips)
