Wouldn't the warranty be covered by Eurocom? The Clevo/Sager warranties are next to useless to me because of the shipping costs that would be involved. Paying for shipping to/from Toronto and California just isn't worth it.

EDIT: From reading the warranty it looks like everything is through Eurocom, so as long as they cover any problems that might occur I'm fine with things as they stand.

For the NP8150 S-1 you can now order FHD non-Glare instead of the Glossy. This is the same MATTE Type screen that the NP8130 has... :)

As long as Eurocom stands behind the warranty then you should be ok. The only reason that it would matter was if Eurocom handled warranties like most resellers, and only acted as the middleman with Sager (it sounds like they don't, and do all that work in house)

I'm pretty sure that's the case with them. From reading their warranty it sounds like they do the work themselves at their Ottawa location.

EDIT: Forgot I also should credit John Shore at Eurocom for catching a mistake I made when configuring the machine. I accidentally ordered Win 7 French. He had followed up with me right away so knew English was my first language and asked if I'd like to change the order to English. He saved me a bit of embarassment and having to potentially return my order or buy a new OS.

Update: mine should be shipping out today or tomorrow. You shouldn't have told us that Myth was offering you to give you 3dmark results lol. I actually have a much longer wait for shipping so that would be an awesome way to tide me over.

He doesn't have a sager warranty because Eurocom doesn't go through Sager, so a Eurocom warranty is theoretically as good as a Sager one. No one really goes back to the Clevo warranty anyway...

Eurocom is an importer not a reseller/builder.

Can anyone confirm that the usb 3 ports are working properly?
Some guy in the freezing thread stated that his unit freezes when devices are attached to the port/s.
    Hopefully its an isolated case...

I just got mine! I don't know how awesome it is yet. I'm installing windows on it. Man... Sager gave me the wrong power cable too just like another guy in the NP8130 forum. I almost couldn't find a desktop cable to power on my laptop. They gave me the 3 round tipped one instead of the regular rectangular tipped ones for desktop.

I have an external USB 3.0 HDD. I will be transferring files from it. Will post if I encounter freezes.

    1. Do they honor the price here?
    2. Can you check the 6970m card anyway?
    3. Or, can you verify whether you can get the same results as from this page?
    Thanks much

The RAM is expensive over there, so I will just buy it myself for 1/3 of the price! But how do you like your machine? I really can't wait! I am really suprised that they already ship orders since the estimated time is 1st of april. But as far as I know, clevo has approved, it is on their website: CLEVO - Products

    I cant wait!!!

I have one question guys: are the wireless antennas already installed and how many of them are there? I have to build in the 6300n myself :)

    1. The redirect did not work for me. They charged exactly what came up on their configuration page (so if you're asking about the 6970 for +$75 then yes, they honoured that).
    2. I will try and look tonight. Although I would suspect the card is going to be branded Eurocom.
    3. My results were nowhere near that high. The 3D Vantage score was in the high 12K range. Somewhere around 12800 I think.

It's great so far. I have just been really busy at work and haven't had much time to do anything with it - other than install and run Vantage and transfer some programs over from my old machine.

I'm hoping to get some more games installed tonight and finally get a decent gaming session in.

But yeah, I was basically asking about the 75 CAD upgrade. Anyway that's very helpful. Thanks a lot.

The high score in the other post is due to the 1120 shaders in the ES card after he flashed the Dell vbios, I just want to see if it's reproducible. Also could you run a furmark on the 6970m? That's also much appreciated.

Not good... These are all located on the left side of the laptop. When I'm using the top USB3.0 port with my external HDD the USB 2.0 below the next USB3.0 doesn't seem to work very well. My mouse only occasionally receives commands making it look like it is "lagging". But when I plug my mouse's receiver to another port and use the USB 3.0 it is fine.

While using the 2nd USB 3.0 in the middle, I couldn't copy a bunch of files from my HDD. Will see if it works later and post.

The 2nd USB 3.0 doesn't work with my external HDD. The 1st one at the top works fine. My computer will freeze when I try to access it plugged in the 2nd one. Using a regular flash drive on the 2nd USB 3.0 shows no problems though. Should I send it back for the USB 3.0? I don't think it is a power problem since there are 2 plugs for my external HDD.

Hmmm... first issue that I saw, minor though... Volume up Volume down keys don't work...

Oh yeah I actually don't dislike the touchpad at all, keyboard feels good, minimal flex, but the numpad is kinda dumb because i keep hitting the wrong key. Also I'm not used to where the arrows are yet.

SC 2 at Ultra, no problems at all, at Extreme lags a bit too much to play really...

i thought his results were odd.. i think his must have been related to his connection, or others were lagging him, idk. but yay :) extreme settings :) not that it probably makes much difference from ultra? (any one have details on the differences between the settings?)

Dunno because when you set extreme it still says ultra for all the settings so not sure what changes. Also ultra runs real smooth so what's with extreme that kills it...

after some googling, it seems its mostly for the in game cinematics and better shadowing. something called ambient occlusion.

this explains a bit of what happens. kind cool, idk it's worth the performance cost.

here's a thread talking about it with some more.

link to gif of what what the game looks like with it on, and off.. had it posted, but i couldnt figure out how it resize (its fairly large lol)

I'll check again tomorrow wife's birthday today but after updating to the 270.23? Drivers dragon age 2 was running smooth with everything up except 2x aa didn't test at higher aa... I think with update sc2 might be good too now. Will run unigine again and the demo version of vantage.

I love everything about this laptop, but I have a few grudges! As mentioned my 2nd USB 3.0 port (the one between the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 on the left) doesn't work with my USB 3.0 external HDD. It works fine with my USB 2.0 flash drive though. And yeah.. the fans turn on even when I'm doing nothing lol.

I will borrow a friend's USB 2.0 powered HDD and see if it works in there.

Using the new 270.24 drivers I have found that my system can run SC2 on extreme, but I was warned by Mythlogic that those drivers can cause BSOD under load...

It looks like Eurocom has moved the Racer to their standard product page.

And the 6970 is still listed as a CDN$75 upgrade over the 460M. I guess that will be their regular price. I wonder if they have some kind of deal with AMD to really push the 6970.

This is a worry for me as well. I actually need all the USB ports and to have them be unreliable is unacceptable. It sounds like you got a lemon!

Anyone experience issues with these drivers? Anyone else comment on the BSODs under load?

They must have.. Something's going on. Otherwise I'm sure they would have gotten in trouble for the ES cards they sent out. And possibly continue to send out..?

That's the other thing. How many ES cards could they possibly have? I don't think everything they've sent out could be an ES card.
