You are not wrong. Sager runs its own huge queue, one independent of where you sit with the reseller.

Can I say you are right?
You are right -

Also not to be ignored, is the high # of Sager's direct sales. If you just ordered within the last 5 days, well.... at least you have an opportunity to max your virtue meter.
-
Forgot about Sager itself (duh). But I ordered close to a month ago with money ordering on 17th and money received on the 24th.
-
Are any of the reseller's offering free shipping on this laptop? I may be ordering one and cannot decide who I should order it from.

Try to contact babyhemi here.

If I ordered it Friday what is the realistic time frame I would get it? I am cool w/ mid march but April seems like a long ways off. But this is the perfect price and the G53 looks rather bulky.

The below is still valid...

I guess I can practice patience. I really have no need for it right now other than pure greediness. This looks like a great notebook.
-
My laptop is slowing dying day by day. Videos take forever to load and even then the picture just stutters for the most part. This wait makes we wish that AMD were close to getting Llano chips out, but that's months away. 8130 come to me!
-
Anyone know if the resellers are susceptible to cajolery or outright bribery in getting our machines bumped up in the queue?

As htwingnut says they are in a big queue at Sager sorted by order date. Models with the Sager Brand ships before anything else and receive the highest priority on shipment/allocation.
-
I am pretty excited for this. I am deciding on who to place the order through on Friday. This 8130 seems to meet all my needs. I am donating my desktop to my wife's parents as they need a PC. I am an avid gamer w/ a family and another baby on the way so mobility is huge for me.
What is the normal shipping cost on one of these? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Normally shipping for UPS Ground to the lower 48 costs under $30
-
Justin, if I ordered on the 17th and money received on the 24th which date is used by sager when they put me in their queue? Thanks.
-
What kind of gains would I get if I used just the basic setup for 1172 and added the XOTIC PC Redline Boost™ Extreme Performance ?

Just pulled the trigger and ordered me a 8130! Let the freaking wait begin...
-
I think this is the one for me to order as well. I looked at some of the others and I just cant stand the huge flashy style of notebook's. I just hope it doesn't take too long for it to come once I order it.
-
Im interested in the redline boost too. Is it something you can turn on and off, and any ballpark numbers for performance increase?
Pretty much stock np8130 here too. -

Hey guys,
I was interested in purchasing either the Sager NP5160 or the 8130. I realize the largest difference is in the power of the GPU, however my biggest concern is the quality of the chassis and the overall build. I want to buy a durable laptop, one that can last me over four years with careful maintenance.
I dislike the 5160's speaker placement (on the bottom), yet the 8130 seems to have similar placement, with a subwoofer? How are the speaker's quality?
The 8130 seems to have far superior venting, having respective vents for the GPU and CPU. That seems to make the overall quality of this build much better than the 5160. I was wondering if this model included two fans, one for each unit?
Lastly the overall quality of the casing looks much better on the 8130. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving, is this indeed the case (hey look a pun)?
Thanks in advance -
Also....
Is there any reason to be looking at the 8150? It seems the only difference between it and the 8130 is the superior GPU, which doesn't come standard. Otherwise the retailer I'm looking at has it listed for 100 more (standard equip) than the 8130 with lesser specs....am I missing something?
How much of an impact will a 5400 RPM hdd have on battery life compared to the 7200? Worth it? Would it be easy to switch this drive out for a SSD in say, a year or two? -
Also wondering what the specs are on the stock wireless radio, and if the upgrade to the intel ultimate 6300 is desireable...and why i can't edit posts on this forum lol
-
I was wondering if an owner could give some idea of what the fan noise is like in two cases as follows:
- When mostly idle when you are browsing, performing office tasks, etc
- When running high CPU load but minimal GPU load.
The reason for these questions is that I plan on using the NP8150 in an office environment where I do both office and software development. The software development can ramp up the CPU as I run multiple servers and build processes simultaneous but there is no GPU load. The only time the GPU load would kick in for me is at night at my house or in a hotel when I'm playing a game. Since I'm primarily using this in an office environment I want to make sure the laptop is relatively quiet when not under heavy load. -
There will be no difference in battery life between a 5400RPM or 7200RPM drive. Get an Intel SSD if you want better battery life. Although not sure of total power draw of the 8130, the draw of the SSD will only be about 0.25W-0.5W on average compared with 1.5W of an HDD on average. -
Anybody has the service manual for this laptop?
-
Can someone address the concerns I had about the case? -
-
I was just comparing the 8130 and 8150 at Powernotebooks unboxing video @ youtube and they look the same I think...
-
They should. Only thing that changes is the rubberized of the 8150 vs the hard plastic of the 8130. Not including matte screen vs glossy, etc...
-
And how about cooling? How does the 8130 cool compared to the 5160?
-
8130 has better cooling
-
-
Neither has better cooling. Same cooling system.
-
-
-
-
Why would 8130 have better cooling when it only has to cool a max 75W GPU but the 8150 has to cool a 100W GPU?
In either case, the systems are identical except (8130 vs 8150):
- matte vs glossy screen
- plastic vs rubberized finish
- 120W vs 180W power supply
That's it. -
-
Comparing cooling between the 5160 and 8130 is difficult because different machines with different GPU's. Only way to tell is how well it manages the heat of the GPU and CPU.
-
This is true. The 540m is a league or two below the 460m and the np5160 doesn't have to cool it as heavily. The reason I think that the 8130 has the better comparative cooling is because the 8130 has dedicated fans for both the GPU and CPU, where as the 5160 has one big vent to the side and some smaller vents on the bottom.
This is all just conjecture as this point for me. All I have seen are posts from other owners and pictures of both machines. So, this is a guesstimate as best. -
The 460m requires a MUCH higher level of cooling than an Optimus 540m. If all else was equal and the 5160 had a 460m then I would agree with you, but since it has a card that is leagues less powerful, and therefore creates much less heat, I would actually expect the 5160 to remain cooler than an 8130.
-
quick question: where would I get the notebook from first, directly from Sager or from some other place like XOTIC, Power or Mythological etc etc etc
-
Resellers can be split into two general groups:
1. Sager resellers: LPC-Digital, Xoticpc, PowerNotebooks, etc
2. Clevo Rebrands: Mythlogic, CyberPower, iBuyPower, etc
PS. I'm not sure which group to put Malibal -
