Nothing really short of replacing the panel.

Optimus relies on a certain motherboard routing configuration and can't be switched off (you would loose the internal display and the external ports would not work either).

The only brand I can think of that supports doing so it Alienware.

Depending on your use and budget consider the NP9380/9390 as they do not use Optimus.

If you decide to bump up to a 17" there is also the Asus G750's that don't support optimus.

The gxx/gxxx series has historically not so thier last gen models (at 15 inch and above) woukd work. There are some current machines that use a direct connection to the dgpu for external connections allowing the bypass of optimus for those external panels.

When connecting my W350ST to my TV via HDMI it uses the integrated intel video card instead of my NVidia 765m. Is there anyway to fix this.

All connections are routed to the igpu. Optimus should work just like the internal display.

My old laptop had optimus and I was able to use my NVidia card to scale my tv in the NVidia control panel.

I think they used direct links to the hdmi in that system to support 3dtv play. So in that system they did not use optimus for the external displays.

Does the sound in this lappy is correct ( means like any laptop, inspiron or satelite of toshiba) ?
Of course it cant approach msi or asus level but is it at least decent ?
In every review they talk about crispy and bad sound..

I have a Sager 7355 that after I put it to sleep and put it in my bag, it magically turns itself back on and, of course, gets hot. Why is this happening? Any suggestions on the fix?

    I am running Windows 8.1.

Do you happen to have any USB devices hooked up like a mouse, and if so do you have your sleep settings to wake on USB?

Sager has a delay on the 7370 models arriving into their facility and not expecting them in until later this month. With build after they're arrival and the holidays, that's the ETA we're expecting.

    Hi,

I've got question about the W370ST fan issue. Does the newest official bios fix the fan bug? I bought my laptop 2 days ago and dont want to flash the bios for nothing, if it doesn't work anyway i got the chance to refund it. The current ME FW Version is 9.0.13.1402

    Thanks!

Last night I was just browsing the web on "balanced" power setting and the fan turned on high speed and wouldn't stop. There was nothing else going on such as a virus scan (because I don't have a virus program installed) or a backup. How do I even update the BIOS - where do I get it?

*edit* I see that I am running the latest version of the BIOS according to this site: http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/W3xxST/. So I'm not sure what to do to fix the fan issue. Ideas?

welcome me back to the laptop kingdom.

i now own a w370st from pc specialist. very happy with the purchase.

    once i wiped off windows 8.1 and install 7 x64 sp1 :p

i changed the thermal paste and now get less noise while gaming, the speakers aren't crap like some say, only problem i've had with the sound is drivers newer than the via hd 10.x don't work properly, sound cpl crashes and the sound blaster cinema says no card installed and i get no sound in several apps. 10.x drivers work perfectly though and the sbx drivers work too, nice improvement in sound, i got myself some go groove usb speakers off amazon (incidently, excellent speakers, on par with the logitech x140's i had previously, but with no plug!! nice bass too) and a zalman 17 inch cooler stand with 4 port usb hub., funnily enough the hub works with only 1 of the usb connectors plugged into the laptop, haven't bothered with the fan, probably needs more power since it has a proper on/off switch (nice).

i've also made my desktop more energy efficient, swapped out the 6 core cpu for a sempron 45w, swapped out a 7850 for a 6670 and took two of my 4 hdds out, changed the speakers for a usb pair and removed some now unused fans and cables. the desktop is now a work pc and the laptop is for gaming and work.

Try to install the latest drivers from Cevo site CLEVO - Download
After I install Intel VGA driver from Clevo site my fan won't switch on unless using high demand graphics tasks.

I did a fresh Win7 install with the driver from Clevo and flashed the "custom" EC from mysn.de. Now it is way smoother even when i play games, no more random 100% fan issues. But i've got another question regarding the HDD. Is it common that when i move the notebook too much sometimes the HDD shortly unplugged? I rescanned the drives and et voila the HDD was back.

Yes the HDD is shutting itself down to prevent the head from smashing into the platter and trashing all your data.

Received my Mythlogic Chaos 1313 a couple of weeks ago and reflashed the OS and installed all the drivers. Everything's working well except my cpu clocking. I overclocked with intel xtu and now it wants to run that speed all_the_time. I have to use throttlestop to clock it back down again. Do I really need to make individual profiles for every state (and swap them manually) so that I'm not running 4ghz all day every day?

Edit: a restart fixed it. I still have no idea what caused it in the first place.

I've got another question regarding the W370ST. Is it still better to take out the battery when the laptop is used with power supply, in order to increase the lifespan of the battery?

Been discussed numerous times. Technically speaking consensus is yes.

Practically however the increase is substantially less therefore of no value. Better to use it nicely and get a new one when its done! Recent hardware advances allows devices to stop overcharging but I am not sure in case of 2013 Sager models. May be someone with more knowledge on that would enlighten us further..

It can depend on the power profile, high performance for instance will keep the CPU clocked up higher than balanced or power saver.

Still having a fan issue with mine. It was sitting right next to me idle on the lock screen and the fan kicked on full blast and has been on that way for about 5 minutes now. I checked task manager for processes taking up the CPU, and there are none. Any ideas how to stop the fan from just spontaneously turning on full blast??

I am looking at purchasing the Clevo W350ST from Xotic PC today.

If you guys could recommend getting any upgrades from the basic model, what would those be?

    Thanks!

I personally would go for the wifi, but depends if you're using a dual band router or not. I put my own SSD in and moved the included drive to the backup drive slot. I also went for the 15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Sager Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (SKU - SSC006) ( + 25 )

Otherwise I think the rest are just a matter of preference.

I used gelid gc extreme but you can use some other like diamond ic7 Arctic silver 5.... When they applied the paste I noticed it wasn't applied nearly as good as you can do it. So I think half of the improvement comes from proper application

My 7370 just came in yesterday and I have an odd temperature reading on my HDD. On idle (regardless of power profile), the temperature gradually climbs up and stabilizes at 52-54 degrees celcius. The odd part is that when I'm gaming, it drops to around 42 degrees. Software used is HWMonitor.

Any ideas or explanations on why this happens?

While its not listed the stock screen is usually a 60% NTSC color gamut range. The upgraded option is a 95% meaning it can display more of the NTSC color profile. Basically it can display much more colors and for the current low upgrade price I'd get it. Lots of positive reviews on those screens.

Thank you, but what about brightness, contrast, view angles? Are they similar? I have seen positive feedbacks about stock screen too.
