If you are beating it up like that then maybe a cooling stand is a good idea, it will help cooling inside the chassis.

The chipset is designed to get a bit warmer than some of the others, the fan should help the HDD certainly.

Hi guys,
I bought a second hand w370st.
Unfortunately it's have a few screen issues, but only when I'm adjusting the screens position. When I adjust the position I get a few pink lines in one of the open windows, when I take my hand of the bezel it turns back to normal.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Could it be a shorting issue or is the something worse going on? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
That's usually the internal display cable working loose, often a re-seat will fix it.

Thanks for the answer, should I check the cable at the motherboard side or at the lcd? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Who's Mark?
Check one side at a time, no point taking one apart if the other fixes it.BloemBlaster likes this. -
Hahahah lol I don't know, somehow my brain went meaker = mark.
But I will try reseating the cable on the motherboard side tonight
It seems like it helped a little bit, I only did the motherboard side tho, when I have the time for it I will do the LCD side and hope that it worksLast edited: Jun 28, 2016 -

If that does not work then the cable needs replacing most likely. You can inspect it around the hinge better when taking the back of the panel off.

Hi Meaker,
Maybe I'm being stupid, but I can't firgure out how to take the top off.
I took off the rubber pads, then unscrewed the screws, tne tried to pry it open but it didn't work, and the service manual I found had no information about the lcd, is there I magic trick that I'm missing? -
edit .. oops
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The top of what exactly? The back of the lcd lid?
BloemBlaster likes this. -
Yes, or should I have tired to take off at the fron, the side with the screen.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The front first, the bezel. That comes off then there is a metal support on the hinge on the inside.
BloemBlaster likes this. -
ahhh ... well much to my ayyonance I didn't find any thing that looks like damage at all.
A strange thing too mention tho is, when the front and back cover was off and I moved the screen around there wasn't any pink stripes -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It could be cable damage around the hinge if it has been pinched by accident.
BloemBlaster likes this. -
ahh, I was expecting to see like damage around the cable's plastic or isolation.
I will try to find a replecement cable or J=just live with it, thanks for all the help! -

Not a problem, I'm sorry it's being elusive.

Anyone know the size of the AC adapter plug? I have a hunch that it's 5.5mm external, 2.5mm internal, I need a new AC adapter and I'd rather not buy the original one for $75 from the Sager website.
-
Been crunching at this for damn near 10 months now, but does anyone have any idea what's going wrong here? My NP7358 will not POST. Just turns on the keyboard backlight, maxes the fan out for a few seconds, and shuts back off. Occasionally when it started happening it would boot for a little while but just randomly shut off after it warmed up but now it's 100% consistent. Tried CMOS resets, RAM combinations and testing them in other PC's, pulling HDD's and DVD's and SSD's, booting with only battery or only PSU, tried letting it sit for a week with no power, tried letting it charge 24h before booting, had the GPU reballed, had the GPU replaced, etc. Tried using a Pentium 3550M (another Haswell CPU that uses the same socket) and all it did was put the fans at 50% instead of 100%, which is also what happens when there's not a CPU installed so I don't think it recognizes that specific CPU.
Any ideas? Only thing I can think to do is swap out the CPU with another 4710MQ cause there's not much else to replace besides the entire motherboard. -
It might be a long shot but I would try a different power brick

Hi. I'm new to the forum and it's the first post here.
I got my hands on a Clevo W355STQ. I have Bios ver. 1.03.02
CPU Intel i7 4710mq and I will upgrade it to i7 4900mq
1. Will the bios be ok, or should I upgrade to 1.03.03?
2. I saw somewhere there is a modded Bios from Prema member. Is it created on the 1.03.03? Where can I download the latest bios (modded or not)?
I also saw some files named EC...not large ones. What are these?
3. I also want to add an msata Samsung 860 evo SSD. Will I have heating problems?
What should I do?
Thank youLast edited: Feb 25, 2018 -
Welcome to the forum. I am currently using my Sager with Prema Mod. I would suggest you use this if you can get your hands on it. However, I see the site only has a subscription page and nothing else. So maybe you can use the official upgrade and get the improvements on the bios.
There should be clear instructions on how to use this on the Sager or Clevo website.
Best of luck on this. -
Thanks for the reply. I was looking in this site https://www.mysn.de/driver/6_Archiv/
and there are 2-3 models that are equivalent to my clevo w355stq.

The 4900 is not newer so no update should be needed.

Hello, I am new to the forum and recently bought a used W350SK. It is similar to the ST but equipped with a GTX 760m instead of a 765.
Anyways, in an effort to control the fans better I tried to update the BIOS and EC to 3.03 and 3.02 respectively. When I entered windows again my GTX 760m was not recognized and windows device manager showed "unknown 3d card" where the 760m should have been.
After some checking I realized I accidentally flashed the BIOS and EC for the W350ST, which has the 765m. In the BIOS the MB Series reads W35xSTQ_370ST. I cant remember if it was W35SKQ_370SK before, but I suspect the to BIOS files are close enough that the flash utility changed to motherboard name to W350ST and now the system cant find the GTX765m which is supposed to be there.
I tried to reflash the right BIOS and EC files but nothing changes..
The system now only runs on the Intel HD 4600 GPU. Is there anything I can do to get my BIOS back or did I just brick the machine?
Thanks -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I would carefully check you are flashing the right file. The BIOS and vBIOS are integrated onto the same chip, if you are able to boot and flash it should be recoverable.
-
It boots fine and flashes with no errors each time. I`ve used files from 2 different providers, carefully checking version numbers and model numbers each time. I deleted the files from the USB stick I used after each individual flash. However, the EC_0302 portion contains a file called "eW3xST.302" and is the same whether the patch is for W350SK or W350ST. I tried flashing 3 times now without positive results. Perhaps if I used an earlier flash, like the first one for the W350SK?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You may need to flash a full file to the chip, the updates don't all update the same regions of the file.
-
How do I know if its a full file? Is it the earliest file version?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You would need a full dump from an existing unit, contact your reseller as they may be able to provide it.
-
I managed to fix it by applying the first BIOS update I could find (V1.00.04). This restored the BIOS name to W35XSKQ_W370SK and I got my graphics card back. Thanks for the advice

I'm interested in adding one of those fancy new NVme or M.2 SSD's to my Sager NP7370, is it compatible?
This is the one I'm looking at https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-NAND-2280SS-Internal/dp/B0784SY515/138-5851122-8298711Last edited: Sep 15, 2018 -

IIRC it's Msata, so that's a no. But you can get decent drives like the 860 mSATA which most people wont notice the difference.

Hello, I bought an Avell 1711, same motherboard Clevo W370st ...
And I've been able to make it very stable and smooth in HDMI
I hope it helps someone who has one of my Review ...
Well, first I updated the BIOS to 1.03.03 and EC 1.03.02 ... Fan now makes almost no noise.
But this Intel i7 reaches 95 ° !!! with intel booster. I disabled the booster leaving Maximum CPU 99% usable in Windows, Power / Advanced Power Settings menu (search only)
Now without the Intel booster, it's only 75 ° ️ and no gaming performance loss
About the annoying bugs in HDMI unfortunately I just decided to go back to Windows 7. But now it's perfect, no bugs in the mirrored games for TV
I liked this Notebook, meeting my needs in 2018 kkkk. If anyone knows a good store that sells the battery of this Notebook internationally, please let me know.
Do not forget to put a good thermal paste and clean the Fan (it should have 2 fans ...)

Good day. I have been a lurker here for some time especially when I purchased my W350ST years back. It has been out of commission due to no power and I decided to bring it back to life. Since this is a very "old" model, I went ahead and try to look for sources on spare parts.
The motherboard of W350ST, W355ST, and W350SS looks similar in layout so these are what I am choosing:

I have also been trying to debug the no power issue. I have confirmed that there is 19.6V coming in from the AC Adapter but from there I have not yet identified where I should look. Can anyone give me some pointers on what component should I investigate?
Below is my actual board.

Is there a short to ground in the CPU power circuitry?
-
As you suggested I tried to trace the v-core and I found this ON Semiconductor NCP81103. I've tried to measure the Vcc from the nearest GND and it gave me 0V. The spec sheet shows that it should be 5VS at that point.
I've also tried to trace BPWRBTN# and I can confirm that it is showing 18.9V but the BH_3.3VS is showing 0.0V.
I like to confirm my findings against a working board.

I managed to make some progress. I would like to validate if my investigation is right.
There is one MDS1526 MOSFET that does not output any voltage. It's Sink Output goes to MDS1521 MOSFET. This Sink Output also goes to G5602 which based on the spec sheet controls CPU core voltage.
I have posted below a video and snapshots of the main board and the schematics.

There is also one MOSFET that is missing in the board. I do not know if this is relevant to my issue as it seems to be depopulated from the start.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1auD5zalHJnvr4C-p2cDDRHAQT5GOKleh -
I have also checked the MOSFETs on the battery area and I found that there is one fuse that is also depopulated. I don't get it... why I am missing two components and if these two are even critical?
