Your original reseller could also perhaps supply parts for repair even out of warranty (for a cost of course).

Still very happy with mine W370ST .
Anyone tried Windows 10 in it? -
Hello,
I am working on a W370ST for a friend. His screen is flickering but only when the laptop moves. I want to replace the 40 pin LCD cable as I think this is the faulty component and is cheaper than a screen.
I can't source the part from anywhere
Does anyone know where to get one from?
Thanks,
Musica -

After more and more digging I have found this http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...3701-010-K-6-43-w3701/805999_32346847941.html
Anyone know a cheaper vendor? £50 for a cable?!? -

Hi everyone!
I'm a W230SS owner, but recently bought a 2nd hand W370ST for my brother to use for gaming (Dota2/CS:GO). The specs are 4700MQ, 8GB RAM, 765M, Samsung EVO 128GB SSD, WD 750GB HDD, 7260AC. I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help me with:
1. The Clevo Control Centre/hotkey software is really bad on the W370ST. The profiles don't seem to be customisable (other than the User Defined profile) and I would really prefer the newer (and cooler/more futuristic looking haha) Control Centre/hotkey software that I have on my W230SS, as that one does save your settings in each profile. Has anyone tried installing the Control Centre from later models e.g. W370SS?
2. Similar question, but for audio: the W370ST has Creative's Sound Blaster Cinema software. My W230SS had the same SBC software, but after a while received an update to both the audio drivers and SBC (so now I have SBC2 on the W230SS). Do you guys think it's possible to have SBC2 on the W370ST? Since the audio drivers have to be updated on my W230SS, I'm guessing no, but asking just in case (Perhaps I'll try it and report back). Also, the W230SS has VT1802S, but the W370ST has VT1802P audio codecs, if it matters.
3. The temperatures seem a little high. When installing windows updates, Intel XTU says that 1 core was clocked at 3+Ghz, but the temperatures reached 90degC. This is probably too high right? It idles at about 60degC, and the fan kicks in very often when CPU usage spikes.
4. Lastly, does the Prema Mod BIOS update help with the heat/fan problems? I have that on my W230SS, although it didn't make a huge difference there (it was more for osx86 support).
Thanks so much for any help, and I'm excited to own another Clevo machine (well it's my brother's but hey)
EDIT: Tried installing the hotkey software from the W370SS, it plain didn't workLast edited: Jun 16, 2015 -

You can count it as a sager.

Hey guys,
I wanted to upgrade the RAM in my laptop and I was wondering if anyone had any instructions on how to get to the third and forth memory bays that are under the keyboard? Getting to the first two to the back of the laptop is easy (where you simply turn over the laptop and unscrew).
Thanks! -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Page 2-14 of the service manual (google w370st service manual). Also note the machine has 3 memory slots not 4, so only one slot under the keyboard.
-
Thanks for letting me know. I'll utilize the memory module that is accessible in the back and place one more stick.
Why is it that all identification programs (such as Speccy) see there being a total of four RAM slots available and not three? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Because the cpu has the logical capability to support that many and 3 slots is a bit of an odd configuration for those programs to get a read on.
-
Hmm heres a good question
Windows 10 is around the corner that means drivers drivers drivers.
Any word on how the Sound Blaster / Via audio driver software and Control Center will work.
Like will windows 8 drivers work or will clevo/sager have any notion on Windows 10 drivers -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
If you are not up for experimenting yourself I suggest waiting a little while.
-
Okay so i updated from windows 7 Ultimate to 10 Pro.
Things that work.
HotKey (windows 7 version) Edit (windows 8 version works i finally get to use the better on lol)
Webcam (after reinstalling windows 7 driver works fine)
Airplane mode works now with windows 8.1 driver.
Killer wireless works fine (i dont use the software cause its known to BSOD windows 7/8)
XTU is working also and Nvidia drivers and Overclocking GPU works great.
The upgrade removed my AV but i can reinstall.
Photoshop CC , Steam etc all work Perfect
Things not working or partially working
Nothing so far.
Via Audio works fine Buuttt Sound Blaster Cinema will not work with the drivers included doesnt detect device because of creatives silly software requiring specific drivers to make it work per revision.
Im running
I7 4700MQ
12GB Ram all Low Voltage
Samsung SSD 840 PRO
1TB HDD Sata 3.
Prema Bios
Next up i will try UEFI Boot with GPT i just need to back software and redownload some *cough* *cough*
UEFI i had issues with in Win 7 it would install the OS but would hang on the initial boot logo
Never tested 8 with this system i had an ultrabook at time which I had tested with.
Using Classic Shell to replace startmenu for now gotta admit runs pretty smooth the OS just need to fix my file permissions.Last edited: Jul 30, 2015Meaker@Sager likes this. -

Right Did a Full Clean install now via USB using UEFI.
Hard Drive formatted GPT just fine
Install was Fine
Boots Fine (Fastest Bios time is 3.6 seconds)
Found a bug where Right Click physical button doesnt work if you disable 2 finger to right click in the synaptics driver it installs
All Drivers were automatically installed Except 2
Intel Management Engine Driver
Insyde Airplane Driver ( well installed but wouldn't work had to use older revision)
This time I didn't need to install webcam drivers (must have been a conflict in upgrade)
It auto activated when i used my email that i registered it to after updating (Upgraded the MSDN Win 7 Key i have been using since day one lol )
Head up for people decoding video or converting, the latest nvidia drivers dont have CUDA so it will crash they are doing away with it so anyone using it swap to DXVA
Like I said only Urk is the Creative Software not being able to work because frankly the speaker will always be bad the software is minor improvement but i use portal speakers or header for this.
if i could get my hands on som really cheap replacement speakers i would try to solder the connectors to a different set from another laptop like from the old acers 5xxxg series that had nice volume and some bass (i owned an acer 8930g before upgrading to this its speakers were amazing 5.1 and a mini sub) -
Alright so I managed to take the Airplane driver, The Via audio driver, synaptics and the Clevo Control Centre software from the W230SD/ NP7339.
This game me a way cooler control centre that i can macro my keyboard keys with also.
My audio i found had an issue that was fixed with this. *i didnt have spdif and working mic input jack until i installed this driver.
My only issue is that I still cant use the creative software to help boost the normal speak output and quality. i think that will only be done when/if Clevo finally release drivers for the w230st/w350st/w370st -

They just got the drivers for 10 updated on current models, and I believe someone else in another thread said it could be a couple weeks before we see them on the older models (though this one isn't that old). Otherwise, if the 8 drive doesn't work now, you could try seeing if like Soundblaster has their own 10 driver on their site.
-
When i was on windows 7 i tested this ages ago.
I could use soundblaster 1.003 which was original up to 1.005 with the drivers supplied on the clevo website.
Anything version higher it would not detect device and deny me usage.
The same thing would also happen if i updated the drivers to newer versions than the default supplied ones. -
no update on software and drivers for this specific model and the SS model RIP
-
PCSpecialist just put drivers up on their website for Windows 10 for my Optimus V.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
They should be pretty universal too.
-
well the drivers they put up on pc specialist for the Optimus V is Wireless Only so they that is kinda lazy of all the driver to add.
Yes drivers are universal. But the software by creative on works on specific drivers with specific devices. its OEM software so i cant get it from their site and having it work.
Like i said before i have all of this on Win 7/8 Basically the software says no device found if you use any other driver than the one wit the matching software.
Same or hardware types
I tried windows 7 with the latest drivers for the audio from a newer 370xx series but the old software doesnt detect and neither does the new stuff.
Same applies for win 10. everything else works fine -
I'm getting blue screens of death sometimes when I play videos on Youtube and have photoshop open.
I have Windows 10. Using bluescreenviewer I found this file to be causing the problem the last few times.
ntoskrnl.exe ntoskrnl.exe+14d2e9 fffff802`25e0a000 fffff802`265d6000 0x007cc000 0x565189c8 22/11/2015 5:24:24 AM
What could be the issue? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Is youtube being accelerated by the dedicated GPU?
-
Nope. I believe it is the Intel graphics. I have had several occasions where the Intel graphics driver would suddenly stop and have to recover itself. (see this via a message and the computer seems to hang for a second or two before this happens)
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I would see if it does it with either stick of ram in either slot.
-
Upgrade graphic drivers.
Still happy with mine 370ST. -
Recently my keys 0 = and upper delete are spotty working sometimes they work perfectly but most of the time it skips and I have to press it multiple times and then it works.
I have tried to disconnect keyboard and leave it for a bit then reconnect. No spillage on it or sticky keys I really take car of my stuff and never happened to me anything like that. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It might be the domes on the keys themselves, do the keys have a different feel at all?

Noob question about the cooling intake/out-take/vents on this laptop.
I can see the intake vent directly below the fan, and the outtake vent at the back directly behind the the heatsink. But I'm confused about the third vent which I think is above the ram? It is not near the fan or the heatsink, so what is the purpose of this vent? http://i.imgur.com/quzQDEn.png
The reason i'm asking is because I am wondering where the best place would be to position the 3 external fans on this laptop cooler http://i.imgur.com/YgP6YpX.png (you can attach the fans where you want
I placed one directly below the intake (blowing cold air at the laptop fan, not sure if this is the best idea), one below the copper heatsink pipe where the underside of the laptop gets the hottest, and the third one I've placed below this vent that has confused me. I'm worried that blowing air at this vent is a bad idea, as it might be a second outtake vent?
Where would be the best placement for these external fans?Last edited: Apr 12, 2016 -
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
It's just an opening for air intake really. Since all the air is going to get vented out the back, I would say put the fan over that vent and you should be good. you could also run some tests in different places and see if moving them around gets you better results in different positions.

I just ordered one of these w350st laptops. My question is do they work with the 4710, 4810, and 4910 cpus, or just the 4700, 4800, and 4900 cpus?
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
4x10 and 4x20 should work just as well. They are just slightly modified versions of the 4700, 4800, 4900 CPUs that came out later with slightly better performance. Even if you look at something like a lower powered 4702mq it should work, as really any 4th gen mq processor should be usable.
-
thanks. I ended up ordering a 4800mq (or is it hq) to be safe to replace the 4200m i5.
One more question, is the only way to flash the bios to enter DOS? And are the latest found here?

You should not need to update it and the general advise is not to bother unless there is a specific issue you want to fix.

Would this machine be good for recording music on ? like handle multi channel sound card ? and does the Msata do "Sata III" speeds
Just want to confirm. thanks -
Is the Hasee version of this laptop from China the same thing pretty much?
From what I've found out the Msata slot is Sata III
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk -
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Yes, mSata is going to be Sata III speeds. You don't see PCIe/NVMe in mSata drives, only certain m.2 SSDs.

And we still don't have win 10 drivers for our laptops available? -
One issue I have had that I could not live with was temperatures. I bought this laptop for video editing, and when rendering/exporting video, both the CPU and GPU get maxed out. The factory heatsink just isn't up to the task of cooling both at 100%. I am running a 4800mq for reference. When exporting from premiere pro CC, temperatures would hit 100c for the cpu and 70c+ for the gpu. This caused throttling of the cpu down to as low as 2.3GHz. Unacceptable for me! I removed and cleaned the heatsink, removed the "bubble gum" that was used for thermal paste and replaced with gelid GC extreme, but still had throttling. This is all with a brand new fan, so the cooling system at stock just IS NOT able to cool a fully loaded system.
*please note, I am doing what most users will not, running cpu and gpu at 100% simultaneously. Gaming will not do this.
So i set out to modify the heatsink to allow for better cooling.
I bought 8 copper ramsinks and adhered them to the cpu portion of the heatsink/heatpipe using artic alumina thermal adhesive. I also cut up an old water block and adhered that over the GPU heatpipe. I then used copper shims to bridge the two heatpipes together, ensuring that if one is loaded high while the other isn't, the loaded processor can benefit from the extra cooling from the second heatpipe.
All of the copper bits I added are great for storing additional heat, since they are thick pieces, not thin finned heatsinks. However, they will dissipate heat as well, and while that is our goal, that heat needs somewhere to go. In stock form, the only vents on the bottom are over the ram and over the fan intake. Not only are these in the wrong spots to get excess heat out of the case, but they do not have enough open area. I went ahead and opened up the existing vent holes to 1/16" (they were probably 1/24" to begin with), and drilled 208 1/8" holes over the cpu area, gpu area, and hard drive area.
I did some tests to check temps.
firestrike:
cpu max: 80c
gpu max: 58c
prime95 10 minutes small ffts:
cpu max: 92c
premiere pro cc export 4k to 1080p w/ effects:
cpu max: 93c
gpu max: 64c -
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Pretty solid temperature drops with those upgrades. Might want to just clean out dust a little more often with more vents, but otherwise, some nice changes.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
A stand with a nice large built in fan would work well with that
-
@ mnewxcv
you may want to put some non metal pads below your harddrive or move it to the disc tray or swap it with an SSD with the combo.
I have notice that the chipset is directly below the 2ND HDD slot which causes temperatures to rise heavily in it. -
I agree. Even with an SSD there, the temperatures are way above normal. I feel the only solution is to not use the secondary drive bay at all, which means I need to get an MSATA ssd. Less than ideal, but that chip gets HOT, and the secondary hard drive becomes a heatsink for it. Not good. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
What temperatures are you seeing on the chip?
