I agree. Even though the potential does exist for much better results, the PSU might definitely become a very limiting factor. Anyway, we should know it soon enough, quite a few people ordered this system with SLI config.

Whats over clocking mean again? Is that something I do with my time card at work?

    Hehe
I will be lucky if I work how to install a patch.... Mmm now where did I put that glue, and where is that patch?

Well. X7200 finally available from the Norwegian outlet; Multicom. Core i7 930/950/960/980X, GTX 460M/GTX 480M/, both single or SLI, and also Quadro FX 3800. Price of a top specced machine is slightly less than anticipated.
And the D900F is removed from their site. I guess the D900 chassis has reached the end of the line, and with it, one of the last 1920x1200 options. Too bad.

GAME TIME Decision for me folks! I have 1 hour to go through with my pretty much maxed out X8100 build (HDMI in included) or wait till god knows when for a Sager version of this with SLI and no HDMI in.

    Opinions!!!

The question is, how much do you need/want/desire a desktop CPU? Ans also, how much the HDMI-in is important to you?

HDMI in is critical. Desktop CPU is overkill but awesome for me. Why did we get screwed in the states!? This is tough! It the thought of someday that Sager will bring HDMI in to us that is holding m back.

hey would it be possible/easy to put up a triple panel display off of an SLI x7200? Not necessarily nvidia 3d vision, but surround 2d 3 panel. Would it function well?

No at 5670x1080 i barely get 45 FPS on just cause max settings with two desktop 480's with the X7200 you may get 15fps with good luck :D

Hihi, litt for sein. Slo deg med noen poster tilbake.

Wonder if they will acctually ship it with 460M SLI, though I am holding out for 470M because of pricedifference to 480M (as well as the performance probably being very similar). :p

i don't know if the single dual link dvi supports that resolution i think the max is 2560x1600 tough

to run 3 monitors you need 3 dvi outputs and that ain't happen

A few resellers are selling with.....

Matrox DualHead2Go External Monitor Video Controller (2 External Monitors)

2x USB to DVI/VGA FHD Video Adapter (Laptop Display+External Display From Laptop+ 2 USB FHD Adapter = 4 Total Displays)

Matrox TripleHead2Go External Monitor Video Controller (3 External Monitors)

Plus two other options I didn't paste...

However I'm quick to add that I know nothing!

That matrox solution is purely to get more screen real estate. The added screens are not 3D accelerated. In order to have 3 screens for gaming you would need to use the outputs coming from the gpus directly and with this laptop I would not get my hopes up for being able to do 3 screens simultaneously

I considered it, but I need the mobility for my main machine so this is a desktop replacement. If I can't have three monitors it's not a deal breaker I just question why a few of the boys (XoticPC included) are selling with?

It is a popular option for productivity but will not enhance the gaming aspect of the machine.

More screen realestate? So you would need a really high setting if it's going to be spread out 3 times further, or it's going to look low graphics?

It gives you more space to have windows open, like multiple browsers or something like that. It is not a suitable solution for multi screen gaming however as the ports driven off of the USB Matrox devices will have no 3D acceleration (they are not being powered by the GPUs)

pretty much so. that no backlit keyboard is an old story that needs revamping.
only people who say that are the ones that have never had one. one they get one and use it...it's a whole different story.
    or
because they type so good...they dont need lights to see...lol (200 wpm)

Without the Matrox device (which you don't need) you should be able to run one external plus the laptop monitor for sure. Maybe 2 externals but wont know until it is tested.

    What's more advantageous for gaming...
an SSD instead of the hybrid,
    or
    12GB Ram instead of 6
    or
the 980x instead of the 950?
