Yep. And you might get a higher score just by unblocking the vent. (Although not by a lot of course... more like 50 points lol)

i try the same pll.# on the D900F and it looks like is overclocked but a soon as you stress the cpu the clocks go down to stock i hope is not the case on the X7200

They appear to come standard from Sager with one vent blocked, (it looks like the one over the CPU), but in eurocoms panther 2.0 video on youtube they have unblocked their's.

if they blocked the fan vent is for some reason maybe they want to circulate more air into the machine to cool other components :D

I would normally agree with you speedy, but the way the laptop is laid out there is not really anything that would benefit from such a change.

The X7200 sucks in air from the bottom and then pushes it out the sides and back - a blocked vent doesn't make sense to help circulate in that fashion I wouldn't think? --CK

They did it so air will be more concentrated in the case of only one GPU? Many pictures about this all have one vent blocked.

Not sure if it's a blocked fan or poor paste job, but the other GPU temps don't look that awesome either, - 84C in Vantage is kinda high, IMO.
I see a huge inconsistency between what was posted so far, by resellers and owners. Makes you think....

Yes that is the word. It was designed that way to cool the CPU better. It is recomended to not open that block. The intended designed air flow would not be as effective.

Clevo/Sager does the same thing with the NP86960 (W860CU), blocking the air vent right underneath the CPU on the same theory of directed airflow, but most people remove them in short order, reducing CPU temps by 8-10C on that model. May or may not apply here.

The X7200 just got added to the Multicom (Norwegian reseller) website and the price difference from 1 x 460M to 2 x 480M is 9800kr which is around 1670 USD.

It does not look like there is an HDMI input if anyone was wondering :( (And the webcam is set to 3 megapixles :p ) 12GB of ram is for now the max, and there is no Xeon cpus offered, but they offer it with the Quadro FX3800 as a gpu choice.

Is there any news on when the 3. gen of Intel SSD's will come, and when we will see larger 7200RPM HDD's then 500gb? Also any news on the release date on 470M considering the 460M is here?

Idd, pretty insane. I do have the money to get SLI 480M, but learning from earlier mistakes, having top of the line is not really worth it. And seeing I have been waiting for 1 year to buy a new laptop (my lovely Asus W90 died :( ) I guess I should wait for the 470M. And I am a student, so the saved cash is always nice, haha! :)

Link to Multicom if anyones was interested: http://www.multicom.no/SystemConfigurator.aspx?q=st:10596158;c:100560;fl:0

It sounds like waiting will be best for you then haha

There is a very good chance the 470M's will be able to eclipse the 480M's in performance once overclocking is taken into account

Hmm, yeah. But I doubt overclocking is really needed for any of the cards to play most games at decent settings (except for badly coded games like for example GTA4, Crysis etc).

BTW, look at the fancy tribal logo at the back of the X7200 Multicom is offering haha! ;)

No, it wouldn't. You can guess what they'll say and you know how much you can trust their word.

BTW, Multicom sounds like Eurocom to me. And given that both offer 460M's when no one else including Clevo advertised that GPU option, - I say that both are the same company (speculation of course) of hornswogglers! :)

the Sager NP7280 ran Crysis just fine before the OC. i tried to play it on my desktop and it was really bad. But i thought that it was just because my desktop was out dated for the game.

Haha, what an awful thing to say. Acctually Multicom is a really good reseller, but it's a shame that they are the only supplier in Norway. They can then ofc have insane prices (but then again nothing in Norway is really cheap...) :p The reason Multicom put up the X7200 so late was that they said they would not put it on their website until they were 100% sure they could deliver the systems with shipping dates

Nah, I mean no harm, lol.
They do look very similar, though, in both the prices and the advertisement of non-existent products/options :)
But since they joined the race with such a delay, they're probably not directly associated with Eurocom, lol.

I have no idea why I wrote Crysis... (need to start checking what I have written before I post). Crysis is not badly coded. From what I have heard it was acctually meant to be played at lower settings and then when new hardware was coming out people were suppose to play the game again at higher settings, and then feel like they were playing a new game. Still scratching my head at this though... :p

And yeah, Multicom is usually late with the products, BUT they are usually one of the resellers that ship the first systems with new hardware (don't ask me why)

Why would they be saying the 1333 ram is only for the 980x, upper1 has 1333 ram with his 920, I was thinking of upgrading the CPU later it seem pointless to have to upgrade the ram also??
