I always buy a set of mixed height pads and hand adjust the heatsinks myself. It always takes me half a day and I have practised it.

Right I think I sorted it, I used the 1.5mm EK's and compressed them to 1mm then used the 2mm gelids for the rest.

On second run of uheaven and it just reached 70.8.c core with hot spot being 81c.

Talk about a PIA repad. Now let's just hope I have disturbed the CPU cooling.

Edit: Found my 1mm pad so will redo the pads later. But 72c on GPU on bench seems decent enough for now.

Guess I will be spending more money on some Gelid 1mm and 2mm pads.

15% automatic, but load testing is always max fans.

I will be mentioning to PCS about the issue.

Ram is 1mm in GPU, any R22 area is 1mm the rest is 2mm same with CPU area, small IC's 2mm silver caps are 1mm.

Will be taking @Meaker@Sager advise and getting 1mm and 2mm pads together when I get pad and some more thermal paste Nealy gone through my kryo already.

Can always be due to vapour chamber quality too, my last X170SM-G used to run cooler than this KM-G, I have a feeling we will have the same P870 vapour chamber quality control issues…

Yes, I am able to adjust the fan curve but would like to drop the minimum speed below 25% to avoid a mechanical fan noise at the current lowest speed. Specifically, for office use in a quiet setting.

Its more down to incorrect pad sizes for mine, as before i messed with the pads at 15% auto it never went past 68c however i have got it down to 71c max temps now on GPU core, i knocked 10c off the CPU though which was better then expected.

So going to re-order some Kryo Extreme and two packs of 1mm Gelid Gp-Extremes and two packs of 2mm Gelid GP-Extremes to do a proper pad session, i only messed with them to clean my heatsink as it was triggering my OCD as i like shinny heatsinks not dirty ones.

With pads light pressure on the part is fine and then getting that core contact just right. It helps massively with liquid metal for instance.

Im kinda conflicted with what to do ? Should i rma it when it might not show the defect. Thats a hard job for the tech working on the machine. Or just wait it out and allow the warranty to do its thing down the road. I was thinking about grabbing another year so i would have 2 total. HID allows you to get extended warrenty up to 90 days in. I just dont want to let my machine go we have bonded lol

Yea for sure im glad i did take couple videos so there is visual evidence. HID evolution will get back at me this week. They are a good company. Do you think from what you seen that it could be something else other then the graphics card ? The artifacts fro mthe video i made was using a external monitor with a proper usb c x display ? The FPS drops video i made could be the graphcis card but could of been the high density ram. I did experiance the fps drops with the laptop monitor.

Well some good news, CB score on CPU after repaste and repadding max temps 75c auto fan CB 1500+ score from stock CB 1300+
GPU on FS score is the same however temps don't go past 52c core hotspot 61c, also it spends 99% of the time around 140w with 1% of 178w.

I can safely say I have a perfect mount.

Better then stock for sure now.

Edit: Firestrike run without Auto fan with max GPU temps of 57.3c hotspot 64.8c with 10% increase on auto fan. Slowly getting this system fine tuned to perfection.

CPU does hit 80c with auto fans which is better then 92c.

    Great Job!!
From a designer point of view the printed color should be a bit brighter then the laptop's color, this will give it a more professional & prestigious look.

Look at the GPU clock its 210mhz. So its possible but it could also be a GPU Driver which is why I said to DDU first.

If it still happens after that then mess with CCC. Better still get another drive in and do a clean install. I have 2x OS drives in mine one for benching one for main it has its uses.

I always using DDU and do clean installs. Both times i was messing with control center right before it happend I was downclocking my sytem CPU clocks. I also just upgraded my ram so that is takes that out. I also did a clean install of windows 10. Im more concerned about the artifacts i saw then the gpu drops even though both are not good. I also stopped using USBC x display port cable to a external monitor. I am testing that cable on my desktop seee if that is the issue. HID thought it might be the power bricks but im not so certain because it maintains a full charge and not losing anything while gaming. Unfortunatly i dont have a stare drive to pop in

Benchmarks after gpu shunt modding + 5GHz on the delidded 11700KF, I can't believe I have to say this but the laptop needs a vapour chamber on the CPU too, even at stock the heatsink can't handle this 11th gen crap lol:

Do you have comparings before and after delidding (temperature, ghz, power)? I want to delidd my cpu also, but first test with only better thermal paste (liquid metal) had no effect on the temperature.

I just spent 3 hours chasing a bug that only exists when I run on this machine.
That pretty much wipes out any productivity gains since getting the faster machine.
I'm wondering if it's a very expensive door stop...

The quality is to bad for the money. My old Dell Precision M6600 was a really powerful and stable machine. 8 years with daily 12 hours and more. I never had with the Dell so much trouble as with the X170KM-G. One week uptime with 2 days 100% CPU power => no problem for Dell. I think the Clevo can't beat that... I hope they found the reason for the problems and fix it. That's what we can expect for the price! I paid 5,948.68 EUR (6902,25 USD). Thats a lot of money!!!

    yes, yes it is...
I've had Clevo machines for 15 years. Always been happy with them.
Never had reason to question the compute results.
I also get periodic checksum errors that go away on retry.
Not feeling much confidence in it right now.

What’s the number of you don’t mind. My understanding of clevo x170 lm-g is the reseller can make whatever bios they want for there branded machine. Like eurocom has there own bios which I don’t believe are prema partners. I believe they are all under the same clevo umbrella from what I seen and read. This machine is still fairly new ? Let’s see what the future has. I think a lot of the issues steams from control center. I don’t this type of software. It should all be in the bios with exception to the rgb

You prolly just need to update your bios and firmware that isn’t really a big deal.
I’m curious if you are using all 4 slots for memory I heard issues in that department with rocket lake
