It says discounted and it varies a lot... im confused.

Just make sure to find the following that is a like:
Full Range AC adapter, AC in 100~240V, 50~60Hz, DC output 19V, 6.3A, 120W

With lower W that is, SOURCE

    good luck :D

My post was only asking what tip is on the end of the Clevo power supply and the link I supplied had a bunch of examples. Does anyone know which ones they use?

every power supply tends to have the same tip as long as they have the same detailed descriptions aka the 19V, 100-180W tend to have the same tip

I am setting up my new NP6350 and am having issues discovering Bluetooth devices with Win7 Ultimate. I initially added a Dell BT mouse and it worked until the machine went to sleep and it has not worked since. I have tried re-installing the 'Combo BT Driver' from the Sager provided Win7 disk and have removed the device from Device Manager numerous times.
All looks good in Device Manager. The BT radio is on. I have cycled it on and off and seen the BT Radio disappear from Device Manager. I tried to add the BT apapter I use on my XP box and it installed fine but again BT devices are not detected in the pairing scan.
I am thinking something is pouched in the Windows install. Any ideas?

    Hello,
    I think about W350ETQ with:

    CPU: i5-3210M
    MEM: 2x 4 GB DDR3
LCD: 1600x900px (I have very similar in HP ProBook 6540b and I love this LG)
    GPU: def. GF 660MX
HDD: none, I have my own Crucial M4 128 GB
    HDD2: none
    WIFI: Intel + BT
    CD/DVD: standard DVD recorder

But... what about speakers? I read in first post that they sucks but... Is it really terrible?
    I don't like headphones.

And what about noise level. Review on portal based on model with i7, two hard drives...
I'm looking for quiet notebook in idle (browser, ftp, etc.).
I though about Probook 6570b, but HP uses LG and Samsung LCDs, so it's real lottery :/

I would strongly consider getting the i7 vs the i5 - double the cores. With respect to noise, it is very quiet doing routine tasks - the fan kicks in pretty quick once you start to push the CPU doing encoding or the like. At that point you can hear the fan(s) but it is not crazy loud IMHO. My wife has a low end value HP that is three years old and it is louder that my NP6350.

    I don't need i7 power :)
I choose i5 only because AES instructions (I use bitlocker), and I considering change to i7, but only after year, maybe later.

Hm.. thank you for information about noise.
    And, how about speakers?

    well speakers.
for me the clevo speakers are better as the 3 years old in my asus.
they have a clear sound and are louder as in some other laptops.

ok there will be laptops like lenovo or ... which perhaps have better speakers. but the clevo are ok.

for a bit movie it is enough.

but for music. there is not much bass ... problem of all notebook speakers so go for good speakers or earphones.

    Hi all

I am a new W350ETQ owner and i have run to some minor troubles.

The laptop came with the latest bios which has a an OS select option that i can choose between "Windows 8" or "others".
The Windows 8 option has a sub-option to use UEFI , the other option hasnt.

My problem is that I cannot load windows 7 64 bit in UEFI mode. Just doesnt like it,, tried to mode the \efi\boot etc but no luck.

    It loads windows 8 fine.

Ideally i would like to have a dual boot win7 / win8 on the same disk but i think that the bios is kinda locked for only windows 8 on uefi mode.

    Any idea?

Hey fellow owners of the NP6350! Can you help me with a few questions?

-I have 1x 256 GB SSD installed as my boot drive. I'm considering running another one in RAID 0 or whether I should just get a 1 TB platter hard drive. I know the SSD will be more expensive and give less storage, but will it give a significant performance boost? I got a 1 TB Seagate external backup drive cheap on Black Friday, so I'm not hard up for storage space right now.

-I ordered the high-performance Bigfoot networks 3 channel network card. I have a high performance router and am enjoying the connectivity. However, I am kind of missing bluetooth. Is there any option for adding bluetooth functionality without replacing my 3 channel card or gettting a USB bluetooth dongle? I'm thinking I will have to go the dongle route.

-When I'm typing, sometimes my palms will activate the touchpad and screw up my cursor placement. Anybody got a solution for that?

Very much enjoying having this laptop overall. Build quality is good, screen fidelity is awesome, so nice to have plenty of power for any application.

You'll want to be careful when putting SSD into Raid as you typically lose TRIM support which will cause your drive to die faster. It wasn't until the latest firmware release from Intel this was resolved but I'm under the impression the machine has to support this as well.

There won't be any way to add Bluetooth without replacing that card unfortunately.

You can turn the trackpad off entirely if you're using an external mouse or even don't mind using the hot key to turn it on and off.

    Glad you're enjoying the laptop!

I have not experienced the HDD temp problems. I have a 5400 rpm Samsung HM500JI and it stays at around 45C whenever its not idling. After a few hours of defragmentation temps would climb to 53-55C. During gaming temps are lower 42-43C due to better air flow (the fan is running).

I don't know what sata version the optical bay is. If you plan to put a mechanical drive there it makes no difference anyway.

Has anyone tried running furmark and prime95 (or similar programmes) at the same time with throttlestop settings for turbo boost? What where the CPU clocks close to max temps and what where max temps of GPU as well? Did the GPU throttle? Also mention if you have repasted and what thermal paste you used.

Place the notebook on the edge of the table so that the air intake of the fan is on the air for maximum airflow. Thanks :)

@Geos1, sorry cannot help you yet ;]

But I've got another question - does W350 support 7mm SSD disks? Samsung 840 PRO looks interesting, but since it's only 7mm I'm afraid it might be too slim.
    Will it?

I have been looking for ages and can't for the life of me find the specs for the realtek rtl8723ae base wireless adapter. I am trying to get it to talk to my new wireless router on the 5.0 GHz N channel via WIN7. It connects via 2.4GHz but cannot see the 5.0GHz SSID which I have limited to N mode.

I have other devices connected via 5 GHz. The router is a Linksys EA3500 FWIW.

Any ideas? Does the realtek rtl8723ae support 5.0GHz?

    Thanks in advance!

I am considering ordering two of these laptops. Sending back two Y500 pieces of trash that don't work.
    Have a couple of questions.
How is the touchpad? Does it consistently work?
Is there any way to get a lightscribe dvd burner that fits and works with this laptop? Need this.
For those who purchased do you wished you had instead bought the 9150? What turns me off the 9150 is the masata is sata II whereas this model has two sata III spaces.

The touchpad seems fine to me but I often use an external mouse so my experience may differ from others. I did use it a fair bit during setup and it seemed to work fine.

The main reason I went for the 6350 over the 9150 was the two sata3 HDD slots. Also, I didn't need a GPU beyond the 660m.

You may want to consider a better wireless LAN card - the base model REALTEK RTL8723AE cannot connect to my brand new Linksys EA3500 over the 5.0 GHz frequency. If I had the chance I would turn the clock back and get the Killer card instead.

The touchpad works fine, use it for everything except gaming. As for the Wireless card, the Intel N6235 works wonders as well. Never before have I had such a fast and reliable wireless connection.

Just put in an order for one of these through xoticpc earlier today, can't wait to get everything up and running. I -am- following the 2nd HDD temperature issues that have been popping up because once SSDs get cheaper I'd like to make a SSD system drive but they're still a bit pricey. On a Studio 1555 right now, so looking forward to having something that has an actual graphics card. What have people been finding with the fan? Propping it up seems to work pretty well from what I've been hearing, not really worth investing in a notebook cooler?

The machine is really cool without any modifications so not really necessary to get a notebook cooler, but hey if you want you can get one. Again, not necessary :)

And damn, one heck of a jump from a Studio 1555 to this "beast" :p

I just wanted a machine that could get more than 2fps on Sonic: Generations at lowest settings  Plus univ is giving me the OS so I figure I should get something that'll last as long as possible.

Good to hear about heating, thanks.

Hey guys, I just purchased this laptop and it arrived yesterday. It's been getting BSODs left and right and I'm not sure if its because of the SSD I'm using, hardware issues, or if I'm installing the driver's wrong. Any advice?

    Welcome to NBR destinyrocks,
What SSD are you using? You can get a program called WhoCrashed which gives you a report of whats causing the BSOD and updating the drivers could fix that. Are you using the drivers which came with the computer or downloading them directly from the manufacturer?

I'm using an OCZ Agility 4 with the most recent firmware. I'm also using drivers from the manufacturer. I'll try using that program and see if I can provide more details.

First post and I am happy to report that I just placed my order for the NP6350 with LPC Digital! I am eager to get my hands on it and ditch my current rig. I almost went for the Sager NP9130 with the NV 670MX, but I opted for the slimmer and lower profile NP6350. I was really sold on the two hard drive bays, and I went with a 256GB Crucial SSD for starters. I figure when it gets to about half full Ill grab either a hybrid drive or another 256 SSD. Hopefully by then they are a bit more reasonable.

I am so glad I found this forum because until a few weeks ago I knew little about Sager/Clevo machines. I was about to order a Lenovo y580, and then an MSI GE60 but backed out at the last second on both. Seems like I made the right choice....

Awesome, congrats on the comptuer and your first post! When you're ready for the second drive dont get a Hybrid as you only get the advantage of the SSD on there when its the main drive that you're running your OS and programs on. You'll want either a regular HDD or SSD.

Nice, thanks for the heads up. Also I appreciate some of the videos you guys posted on YouTube of the NP6370, it really helped me to get a better idea of the overall look and build of the laptop. If all goes as planned I shouldn't need it for a while (5-6 months hopefully), but in my experience you can fill 256GB quite fast. I have read somewhere here that the more capacity used on a SSD the lower the overall performance. So what would the capacity threshold of the performance dip be on a 256GB? More than half?

I may end up getting the secondary storage drive much earlier than expected because I would rather use the primary drive exactly as you described (OS and some programs/games). The secondary will be mainly storage, and I would rather not have to inventory and move a bunch of files and folders later. Looks like Im in the market for another hard drive, LOL.

BTW I did go by XOTIC to get a quote, but the floating box price window at the right of the customization screen wouldn't register changes in selections. The adjusted price wasn't appearing at the bottom of the screen either. As far as I know it could only be limited to Sager computers, as I didn't browse any other brands. It could have something to do with my browser/computer, but I had the same problem with my wife's tablet too. Just thought I would give you guys the heads up. Thanks for the info and the welcome!!

You want to keep about 10% of SSD open other then that fill it up all you want.

Thanks for the heads up about the price not adjusting. Were you on an ipad by chance, for some reason they dont like some pages on our site. If not could you tell me which browser you were using so i can have it looked into.

And you're very welcome, hope to see more from you, or at least stick around to read some posts you'll see theres tons of good info here

I was using the older 17.0 version of firefox. I updated it and now it works perfectly. It also works perfectly with the Chrome browser, although I rarely use it. My wifes tablet is an iPad mini so I guess that explains that. I suppose it just wasn't meant to be :).

But anyways thanks again, I appreciate the info, insight, and the great videos as usual. I am not as caught up on technology as I was when I was younger, and I haven't been the market for a computer for 5-6 years. But that is my philosophy, buy a decent machine (spend some money) and it won't become obsolete in a few years. Now the waiting game....

Just got mine via UPS (though that's a fun story), apparently my Win7 SP1 product key doesn't work with my Win7 SP0 install disk so I'm configuring everything on a non-OS partition while I try to get my hands on a SP1 install disk. Blah.

On the other hand, everything is running great so far, haven't put it through its gaming paces yet though. Got the drivers working, transferring over the files I need now.

Well, no such luck. Turned it off for the night, reinstalled Windows, and at the end of the reinstall the thing just won't turn on. Screen is dead no matter what I do - tried full reset, reseating ram, w/e. The weird thing is that the discrete GPU light stays on no matter what I do, so I think it's trying to run the 660m on startup and the screen isn't reading it.

    Help?

The only thing I can think of that it could be related to is that I needed to apply this to get Sonic Generations working in Steam, could it have bork'd something bigger? That's weird because the computer restarted several times since I applied that fix with no issues, it just blew up at the end of the Windows install.

Edit: I managed to get it into Setup by mashing Fn + F7 until the BIOS loaded (display change) with an external monitor attached, then hitting F2. Is there a way to forcibly change the video card from there? Apparently Windows is running startup repair but I can't actually see it so I couldn't tell you =\

Edit2: I can get into Windows somewhat, from Setup -> Exit Setup -> Windows 7 -> F8 (more options), trying to get it to load Safe Mode and disable the 660m from there but no luck yet, it's being a pain to get it into safemode (bluescreened with driver_irql_not_less_or_equal when I tried to load safe mode with networking). If I can load safe mode I think I can try to fix whatever is going on with Optimus from there, we'll see if that fixes things.

Edit3: Fn + F7 doesn't seem to work anymore, not sure what's going on. Back to square one.

Do any assemblers sell the w350etq that offer their own customization options? For example, other Clevos or MSIs are offered by Origin, Maingear, Mythlogic, Malibal, etc.

I guess can you clarify the question are you looking to see IF we sell it (Yes we do, 1412-660m) or if there are others who aren't us that also sell them? :)

Oh thanks for the answer. I didn't mean someone else. I was just looking for any of you that offer this system. It's just that sometimes it is not clear which chassis you guys are using for what model.

They will be built off the same Clevo chassis but "Sager" computers are going to be limited on what you'll see for options. You primarily see that on SSD and RAM options. Since those hardware parts are installed by Sager most only list what Sager has. Places that build off the same Clevo chassis but not a "Sager" computer like Mythlogic typically do offer more options in regards to hardware as they put the computers together directly at their facility instead of Sager directly.

A question for NP6350/W350ETQ owners (or resellers who are familiar with it); What is the consensus on the overall build quality of the NP6350 vs lets say the NP9130? I was considering both before I eventually decided on the former.

I preferred the lower profile chassis (or what appears to be a slimmer machine) and the two hard drive bays. I know the 9130 offers an mSATA port, but I didn't feel the need for at 670MX GPU. Of course an upgradeable GPU would have been nice for expandability and future upgrades. I do play a small percent of my games on my computer but I typically use my PS3 for that. The only games I play on the computer are those that aren't available for the Playstation, or games that look or function better on a PC. Dragon Age is a good example, and games that work better with a mouse and keyboard. Although now that I have a 15 month old running around I don't have nearly as much free time!

By no means do I have buyers remorse, I am just curious about what to expect. This will be the first time I bought a computer without having held it or seen it in person.

Looking at your site (xotic), and the w110er line, I see that you offer only 2 choices of processors, compared to somebody like Origin who offer several choices. Is this a real limitation?

Going back to your site (Mythlogic), I only see the Pollux 1412 listed with the 650m/1GB, and no other options. Can you clarify where I can find a 660m/2GB on a w350etq chassis?

Sager does not offer any other CPU's on it as per their testing have found too much heat generated for the small chassis.

I understand. I am not interested in very high end processors either. My own experiences with earlier laptops is the same - too much heat. Makes it very uncomfortable to use. I swear I have to turn down my A/C to compensate for some of these machines. Plus, it kills the battery real fast. I meant lower end processors than the 3630qm, but better than the 3210m.

After looking at manually upgrading the DVD optical drive to Blu Ray I now realize that I probably should have just upgraded it during the laptop customization for $55. Not only would I have to buy a compatible drive, I would also have to purchase the software too. Pretty sure it would run me more than $50-$60.

This is an upgrade that I plan to possibly do down the road. Buying the secondary 256 SSD is my top priority. Any suggestions for compatible SATA blu ray drives? Also can the existing DVD drive's bezel be installed onto the new drive? I am familiar with Corel's software, but is there a more economical alternative?

Just got my w350 in the mail the other day, everything seems to be running fine, except for a couple things. The left side USB port (the 2.0) doesn't seem to have data, though it does supply power, I've tried checking what I assume is the connector to the mobo and it looked ok, along with uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers, still nothing. The other minor thing is the heatpipe vent, it doesn't line up with the vent on the case as much as I like, is there a screw I could tighten to hold it down better? Aside from this, everything is smooth as silk, and actually having a full 1080p screen is absolutely gorgeous (especially after 1366x768 for 2 years).
