But not as great as it could at 1080p with more demanding titles. I'll also wait for preliminary memory OC's before I entirely rule this laptop out of my list of options, but I have to say, it's not looking too good to me at this moment in time.

The memory will clock to what your chips are capable of It's all individual chip based.
-
Gonna need luck there for sure.
But a high percentage number of users successfully OC it to a certain set of clock would also help. -
why does it take so long to release w230st while most branded already released their power ?
-

What about the USB 3.0 bug (S3 state) with the chipset on the W230ST ? I heard HM87 are affected and Intel wont correct this before late July.
-
Dang, very tempting to sell my m17xR3 and nab this beast. What do y'all think?

I agree with Derek. I've had pretty good luck with NBR. Just don't have any unrealistic expectations for what it's worth no matter what avenue you take. Plus you charge more, people expect perfection, where if you undercut the price a bit compared with others they are likely to let little things slide. Obviously disclose any and all concerns with it but sometimes a small dent or scratch that you don't care about people can get quite livid about.
-
Also, for what it's worth, you (and a handful of other guys) have been really helpful throughout my entire journey through NBRism. Learned so much! -
That figures, after I just bought a NP6110. I would have definitely waiting for the 13".
-
I was debating between waiting for this or getting a laptop now. I have zero patience so I went ahead an ordered the NP8230 last week
I really wanted to wait for this or the P150SM though, but there's no ETA so -

GTX 765M scores 4800P 3D mark 11 -
Memory clock is at 2554 MHz ~ 1275MHz GDDR5. Isn't the stock speed only 1000MHz? -
It scores about 4300P stock and @ +120 Core +575 Memory it hits 4800P.
He scored 4400P when he overclocked the memory +600.
When he clocked the core +120 he hit 4800P.
If prema or SVL7 comes out with an +vcore for this card it will hit over 5000P. Probably hit Desktop GTX 650 Ti territory. -
Nice. Now just to know what the cooling is like on this little guy. Definitely looking forward to a vBIOS mod.
-
I got an AW 14 and i'm a little more concerned about the power brick than the cooling. 150W for a i7 and a GTX 765m. Might be pushing it. -

What is the reliability of Clevo/Sager like?
-

More precisely, I wanted to know the average number of times I could expect to need warranty service in the first three years. My expectation from my experiences with Dell, Apple, and Sony is about once per 3 years. I'm seriously considering this notebook but I don't want to be shipping it back for warranty service many times a year.
Experiences will vary but I'm wondering what the average would be.
Is onsite warranty available as far as extended goes? -
Only Sager could tell you their warranty figures, and they may not disclose them, but I'd say it's no worse than any of the other OEMs. Gaming laptops tend to run hot, and nature of the product as a mobile platform lends itself to failures and many times due to customer rough handling or abuse. Sure things happen, but in my experience, usually either within the first 30 days where you can even get 100% money back, or after 2-3 years when the laptop has had its fair share of use and abuse. Like any other product, invest in a warranty for the amount of time you feel you need to laptop to operate.
There is no on-site warranty, it's all shipped to Sager for repair and returned to you, all covered under the 1 year or pre-purchased 2 or 3 year warranties. -

One thing for warranty
MSI the worst you ever want to deal with
my gt783 has some gpu problem and took it to service but 2 months had pass and they still cant fix it
Ps: yes I am under warranty -
If LightningPL's information is right, this thing would appear to have an IPS screen.
I'm a bit put off by the chunkiness and weight, but otherwise the specs are great. Looking forward to reading some reviews in a month or so. -
"*Please note that default configuration is a 13.3" 1920x1080 IPS Matte Display. "
Logical Blue One - Horize W230ST 13.3" Clevo Gaming Notebook -
Interesting. mSATA is the stock drive at Logical Blue One's site. Wonder if that will be the case with Sager? If these are truly on their way, then at this point I wish Sager would release specs and configuration options so I can get an mSATA SSD if it goes on sale in the next couple of weeks. I'm considering RAID 0 Plextor M5M 128GB SSD's and putting my Crucial M4 512GB in my primary drive bay, and then my Crucial M500 960GB in my NP9150.
-
Can you raid 0 with two mSATA and one 2.5 " ?

Is there any news about any US resellers offering this for pre-order? I had just ordered a super-stock Pulse 14, but this has better specs with more portability for the same price, so before I cancel, I'm trying to get a feel for when I can get my hands on one.
Thanks! -

Maybe I can leverage the expertise here. I'm not a gamer, but I do need a pretty robust portable laptop for work. The Maingear seemed to fit the bill at superstock (i7-4702q and 16gb ram, the ram being a must).
I wouldn't mind a bit smaller, and a higher res screen with the same specs, as in the w230st, but it is a bit heavier, and about as thin as the Pulse. Also, the Pulse is only 1600x900, but again, I don't see myself ever noticing that discrepancy. Would I notice it when I hook up to my dual-monitor setup at work/home?
Again, my maingear should be shipping by first week of July, so I imagined waiting another week for this might be worth it, if its a few months, its out of the question.. But I just don't know which is the better option for me.
Any input, ideas?
Thanks again for all the help! -
This machine should ship in about two weeks from everything I'm told. The 765m and 1080p screen are well worth it IMHO not to mention RAID 0 mSATA option.
-
Seriously cannot wait for this.

It seems W230ST already released in ASIA
Singapore already started selling/building it
https://www.aftershockpc.com/AFTERSHOCK XG13/
But they only offer one mSATA option which is weird -
Been reading about a bit recently and am waiting... This is just a pre order too... Was quoted a few weeks wait.. -
so it has 2 mSATA slots? hmm.. what a good idea.... I could have my VM's on a 512 SSD, my OS on another 512GB and a 1TB in the drive bay
