I had the same effect in the bottom left corner. It even apeared when moving the laptop around or simply touching(!) the back of the screen. -> every little movement of the laptop or the screen caused that "problem".
My reseller told me it is due to some display cables at this position, so it's pretty normal to some degree.
They repaired it by 'bolstering' the space around the cables somehow.
Now I'd have to exert quite a lot of pressure to get the raindrop effects.
----
I also have some sort of problem though.(Via Audio Driver)
Since the inbuild speakers are pretty bad without the THX software the problem is quite annoying.
Right after installing the audio driver everything seems fine. In my list of playback devices there is a device called "Headphones" (picture1) which makes it possible to configure the inbuild speakers and the headphone jacks options in the thx software separately.
However... after one or two reboots the "Headphones" playback device is simply gone. (picture2) And no it's not just hidden or something. It completly disappears until you reinstall the driver. The headphone jack still works though. Also the via software notices that something's plugged in and shows the popup.
So everytime you switch from headphones to inbuild speakers or the other way around you have to enable/disable the thx software (or reconfigure it).
Same problem goes for the newest drivers from the via homepage and also for Windows8 on my 2nd partition.
Does anyone have the same problem or any idea how to fix it?
Thanks

The 'headphone' option should appear when headphones are plugged in and disappear when they are un-plugged, I believe.
-
Right.. It should. (You also have an option for make it always visible by right-clicking.)
Anyways, for me it does not appear at all. That's why I'm posting it -
-
Yup, i have them plugged in right now, nothing
Well actually it never "worked" in that way.
As I said, a few reboots and it's just gone. I also tried to reinstall the THX stuff.
Same problem on Win8 although I have barely installed anything there. (not even the THX thing I think)
Installing Drivers - headphone device is there -> reboot -> headphone device is gone (On win7 it's 2 reboots I think.. but well that doesn't really matter either.)
I'm starting to think it's a hardware issue and that I'll have to send it in... again.
The odd thing is, that it still works flawlessly even though it's not showing up anymore. -
Make sure there isn't a update or driver you've missed.. maybe you've got to download something.
Anyways you should be able to right click the empty space and see the options "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" if it appears there you might be able to fix it.
If nothing is there make sure to check Device Manager for eventual disconnects, disables or so
edit: just noticed sentence 2 and 3 equal to the exact same thing... do what pleases you -
"Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" are both enabled.
Nothing missing, disabled or disconnected in Device manager either.
Checked all the drivers at least three times already.. And just installed the chipset drivers etc. again.
Then at last audio drivers.
And again:
Installed driver -> headphone still there -> reboot -> headphone still there -> 2nd reboot -> Aaaand it's gone.
Does not really feel like a hardware issue since it actually works before doing that 2nd reboot.
I thought it's probably a driver thing which is going to be fixed, but it seems like I'm the only one having that issue.. Hm..

Just found this one when searching in this thread:

@Prema Nice Mod v1.3 from Bios 1.06 and Firmware Testversion W150ER-EC-04t-test version.
+ the chipset control fpr my bluetooth is super, after restart is my bluetooth mouse on - super
- My network cards (LAN and WLAN) were automatically installed from windows 7
- Thus my wifi networks were deleted: (and SecureW2 y or Windows network administration .... and I ... good 2 hours
- I miss a fan Set Up - so gradually, step by step
But Great, no other complications -
Just installed Prema bios mod 1.3 and I didn't have my network cards "reinstalled", but it happened when I installed Prema mod 1.2m I guess it's due to the updated bios version when users come from bios 1.06 and EC 1.04
fn+1 rocks, now I can easily cool down the laptop when needed (like after playing).
thanks a lot prema -
does anyone know anything about the Lenovo ThinkPad Display update? I’m updating my windows through the Windows Update, and there is one optional update called Lenovo – Display – ThinkPad Display 1920x1080 update. The size is only 27kb. I have the 95% gamut display matte finished by the way.
also, could anyone tell me how to enable multi-touch gesture(two-finger scrolling)? I downloaded the latest driver from synaptics site, but there's still no option for me to enable this feature (does this model support multi-touch gestures).
and, I also noticed there are two webcam installed: bisoncam and chiconycam. I can only access bisoncam. is it safe to uninstall the chiconycam then? does anyone know a better alternative for the webcam software? bisoncam doesn't have any effects I can play with. at least, I'd like to have a paint function in the webcam software.
Thanks! -

Does this computer have any line in sound? In that case I wonder how to get it to work? I have tried the microphone slot and the spdif-slot but I can't get any sound when playing music. Maybe there is a setting or so that I am missing.
-
Yes there is a line in, and you have to enable a setting to 'listen' to an input, in the sound control panel.
-
-
Control panel -> Sound -> Recording tab -> line in -> Listen tab, then check the box 'Listen to this device'
-
-
-
I plugged it in the Microphone jack and checked "listen to this device" under the listen tab. Then it worked. Thank you! -
-
I posted this in prema bios thread but I think it is important to also post here:
But like I said before this isn't anything serious, unless you intend to press buttons with your hear (yeah I tried with nose but still couldn't hear it )... -
I'm getting fan chirping though I need to open it up and lube it hoping I Don't need to get a replacement
-
-
are there any pictures of the internals of the NP6165? I'm wanting to see how the cooling is set up and how easy it is to add a second hard drive.
-
The notebookcheck review has a bunch of pictures.
-
thanks! just got the chance to play with it. so far it's doing awesome!
anyone on these???
-
I am using those Elan drivers and have multi-touch capabilities
If you skip bakc a few pages I uploaded pictures of the internals with some extra mini heatsinks. -
I ordered a second fan - same problem.. so I guess it's a general problem of that fan model -
They're really poor fans. They have to be lubricated often and a few tweaks may be necessary to overcome manufacturing tolerances that lead to pre-premature failure. (imbalanced impeller, too much play within sleve bearing, dirty bearings, galling on impeller pin...)
Maybe try this:

Hello guys, can anybody tell me where can i get the default 1.0.03dn/02 ec bios for w150er?
-
Hey guys. I decided to try to benchmark my comp. (Never had before) so used PCMark7. Compared to to other results I have been seeing online. Is there anything that I'm doing wrong? Or is this a normal score? (Sorry, I wasn't sure where to put this)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO CO. W150ER score: 2463 PCMarks -
Oops double post. Delete please (If I can I tried but couldn't)
-
this was my result with all settings at stock:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO CO. W150ER score: 3753 PCMarks
And this is my score with throttlestop enabled and +350 on the GT 650M Core and +1000 on the memory
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO CO. W150ER score: 4283 PCMarks
I see alsoscores of 5000+ or even 6000+ points but how they did that im not sure, perhaps my settings arent that optimal either then -
So does anyone have an idea why I'm socring so low?
I have the same as WulffM, hes scoring thousands above me. -
My scores were with Premas 1.3 bios mod for the W150ER, Updated to last ME frimware as well, and using the 306.23 nvidia drivers. RST STOR_Win7_XP_11.2.0.1006 driver. but dunno if that would give you a boost from 2463 points to around 4000, you can try it ofc
-
Where could I download the "Bio mods"?
And thank you -
W150ERx/NP6165 « Prema Mod
there you can download it but only use it if you know what ur doing. there is also a topic about the prema mods here on notebookreview
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...818-clevo-w-series-prema-bios-mod-review.html
Good luck -
Thanks, I'm gona try installing it in a bit. (I'm gona back up all my files just in case I screw something up)
Question- Does anyone know how hard it is to install an extra hard drie in the second hard drive slot for the np6165? -
not hard at all bro. i currently have 3 hd's installed in mine. but the installment of the second hd is a matter of unscrew the 2 backplate screws and then put the hd in the bracket thats where the second hd slot is, also 2 screws .
-
Alright,
Thanks again. I sorta feel stupid asking this, but a normal ssd would fit in the second hard drive slot right? -
-
I was wondering if it's possible to get a spare bottom cover, I would like to modify one to increase cooling capabilities.
-
-
-
Both 2.5" slots are SATA 6Gbps right?
-
I have been having issues with games rendering when I use the dedicated gpu. The game will render fine with the integrated gpu. The first couple times I loaded Black Mesa I had then issue but then it stopped. With the release of Borderlands 2 tonight I have found myself once a again faced with this issue. The issue also persists in League of Legends. Guild Wars 2 runs fine though. I don't have many other games on my laptop, but it seems like getting a game to render properly is pretty much on the flip of a coin. I do have the latest drivers and I have re-installed them with a clean install. Here is a screenshot of the main menu for Borderlands 2 as rendered on my laptop: http://i.imgur.com/w4Cyj.jpg . Any ideas on how I can fix this? or has anyone else has these issues?
