It's because you don't have an SSD. PCMark scores are fairly heavily influenced by IO performance.

guys, i am a new owner of this laptop, and thank you for all of your posts i did made a wonderful decision to choose w150erq.
although i could not find an ivy bridge one at that moment, this not-so-mainstream brand has not been that popular at my place.
i was wondering if you guys can help me finding the latest chipset driver for my clevo?

im now embedding i7 2670qm, waiting for available i7 ivy on stock for like another month, other specs are the basic one.

tried intel.com but i could not find any 7 series chipset driver (i believe ours is Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset)
googled it already but only find Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver from intel's website.

any help appreciated, im from indonesia btw, sorry for my english.

omg thats fast :) thanks mate..
apparently sager's latest chipset ver is 9.3.0.1020 pretty much the same with one of clevo's and cd came with my system.
i'd stay with this this one then.

i was asking this one since i found a newer version of intel hd graphic driver on intel's site, simply by browsing through its category, but i could not find any driver for it's chipset, at all :( , even from its manufacturer's site.

    oh well...

I just got this machine and i'm still getting used to it... go from a m860tu to this is a major difference.

Any suggestions to improve even more its performance?

Oh and does anyone know how to install a bluetooth headset? I just got one from ebay BSH10 and windows says its connected but the driver doesnt install therefore i cant use it at all!

    thanks in advance!

What wireless card do you have? Are you sure you have bluetooth? Also, it may be turned off, try using FN + F12 to turn it on.

I have a centrino wireless-n 150. the thing is that i can turn it on and connect it to my cellphone and other devices but to some headsets it just connects but doesnt install them... something about driver errors... so i tried to fix this with the bluesoleil but it doesn't even recognize the bluetooth in my computer through it..

another problem that i'm having is to use the ~~ or ^^ something like that... im portuguese and we use these punctuation a lot of times and i can't seem to used because every time i press either key it automatically puts them like i mentioned before... does anyone know the reason why?

Any do any successful hardware cooling mods besides adding heatsinks? I'd like to know because I would kill to keep my current clocks and stay under 90c. lol.... I don't like having to carry a big ol cooling pad btw.

Mods I'm looking for are like adding a alternative fan or possibly a USB 5v to the bottom panel. I've never done something like that before so I'd appreciate info on how to do it :). thanks

Be sure that BD PROCHOT, C1E and EIST are unchecked, to be certain there won't be throttle.

Turbo Boost should always be activated........ and to force it always on you need to disable C1E and EIST and just set the multiplier to Turbo Boost.

Hello I recently got this laptop over a month ago, but it seems I lost the notebook driver disk. Can someone make an .iso and upload it somewhere. I'd appreciate it since I'm sure that disk will come in handy later.

Does anybody have the audio out from the HDMI port working? I am getting video, but sound still comes out of the speakers, even selecting Spdif in control panel as default doesn't help though I don't know why that is even there.

Can you link me to the audio driver you are using if you have it working.

Try right clicking on the speaker icon in the task bar, Playback devices, then pick the one hooked up to the HDMI.

Has anyone Windows 8 running on his w150erq?

I have an odd problem with the soundcard.

If you reboot the computer you don't have sound from the inbuilt speakers the next time you start it up.
The headphone jack still works fine. (Default devices are set to speakers, not SPDIF.)

However, If you shut it down and start it up again it all works without any problems. (Doesn't matter if the Windows 8 "fast startup" function is enabled or disabled)
Incase you reboot(!) from Windows 8 to Windows 7 even Windows 7 has no sound from the speakers. Other than that you don't get that problem at all with Windows 7.

I've tried it with the Windows 8 RTM, as well as with the final version (Dreamspark).
The problem occurs with the standard windows "high definition" audio driver, as well as with aaaaall the via drivers I've tested.

    Any ideas? Thanks :)

It is not there, the driver is actually missing, I have no idea where to find the drier that corrects this issue as I have installed the sound driver 3 times now both with and without the THX driver addition

Do you get sound out of the regular speakers?
If the speaker icon is not showing it could be hidden depending on your settings.
You can get to the same area by Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound then select your device and set as default.

Hello, I'm about to pull the trigger on a np6165 with no upgrades besides the IC diamond. Will the i5 be okay for gaming and light school work? Also, should I still expect problems with the Optimus? Have solutions been found if a problem does arise? Thanks.

The NP6165 or any computer really can take care of your school work unless you're running specific programs like CAD which will benefit from a more powerful system. If you're going to be using it really for Office, writing papers, taking notes etc those programs dont require much power. For gaming you can get medium results back from the GT650M. It really comes down to what games you plan on playing.

Mine went down to 48wh from 56wh, bought it in May. Now I'm extra careful, not leaving the battery in when plugged in and occasionally draining it to 20% capacity.. etc.

hi guys, could anyone help me find a good direction for a dismantling tutorial or (at least) disassembled blown-up of w150erq display panel (and hinges) ?
i've been googling around and yet the best information still come from this thread, it has been informative but i need a bit deeper help on wireless antenna routing in my machine.

the problem is, i got myself a very good 24" external monitor and has been working fine with my w150erq, BUT apparently ONLY when i close the lid of my machine the wireless signal always gets interrupted (no matter how close i sit with my access point), and got back connected as soon as i open the lid.
i have done everything as deep as my knowledge goes on the adapter and power setting, but the setting has been fine (as my machine has always, as long as the lid open, well...)

btw, mine is a 4 months old machine, and NOT under warranty since i have already opened the bottom lid to do, well, a little cooling mod. it is okay for me to do a total dismantle but a clue for wireless antenna wiring would very much ease my mission. i think the wiring got pinched somewhere or stretched to disconnection when lid closed (but reconnected when closed, weird but well i gotta find out)

so, any help would be nice. TIA

    Bah...

All I can see is be careful with the drivers you install in Windows 8. I obtained the most recent ones of pretty much everything, and they did one of several things:

    1) Didn't install.
    2) Installed as a lower driver version

    or.... for the FIFTH time...

    3) INFINITE REPAIR REBOOT.

Still trying to fix USB 3.0. Having no luck with any method, unfortunately.

    EDIT....

And, now, apparently some recurrent video_dxgkrnl_fatal_error.

    GRRRRRRR

Yes. It was as simple as not installing the newest Rapid Storage driver. The one on the resellers/Sager's/Clevo's websites is fine. The newest version, which I found on station drivers, is not.

Did you get the driver for the intel graphics thru windows update? then it didnt instal;l the display audio driver with it, go to device manager and update that driver while .pointing to the intel graphics driver that was posted by clevo/sager/other reseller for win8 then it should install that audio driver for you and you have sound again with hdmi

Damn wht a sad day. Just broke my lcd screen. The laptop was at the side of my girlfriend bed and I stepped over it =(. How much it costs to replace it? Is there anywhere I could buy another lcd screen? Im from Brazil and im pretty sure the warranty will not give me another one, and will probably charge waaaayy too much for another screen. Thanks guys.
