Have anyone tried dsanke's bios for p870tm1 with version 1.07.16?
Does fn+d reset works?
As per table it says fn+d is unusable with this version, however, funny fact is that I am on the same version with additionaly modded eurocom bios (gpu id fix) and it works as it should.. -

If it does that is a bonus, can be quite handy.

My machine which got 2 yrs back was great in other respects but the graphics card ie the 2080rtx gave me a lot of trouble and it used to crash a few times a day for the last couple of months. So just wanted to make this post here in case someone is still troubled by this and looking for a stable nvidia driver ie a graphics driver as I tried a few and all had similar problems. I tried the latest one and I tried 445 , and the latest one ie 460 and also 450 but the one I am using now ie 457.51 seems the stablest. Very few crashes.
To install it make sure to remove the previous version using DDU. Some instructions as also somewhere in this thread itself.Michael Tarr likes this. -

Did you try changing clocks or a fresh windows install?
-
Either that, undervolt, change thermal paste?
Or tweak tdrdelay to a 15 seconds value since it provokes most crashes -

Is there a more updated clevo center or something that is compatible with our laptop?

What version are you on now?

Guys, what LCD screen would you recommend for replacing B173HAN03.1 - i am looking for 2k resolution screen, but AUO B173QTN01.0 - is TN, and i would prefer IPS..

Not really options for 1440p panels at the moment. 1080p fast or 4k slow.

There are some decent 1440p 165Hz 8ms 100% sRGB panels in 17.3” and 15.6” that came out this year with the new Ampere laptops.

today i installed a 9900K in my laptop. now i am using a video 2080 sold by eurocom, with its respective vapor chamber. if i am observing, it is very hot the cpu. i am not doing any modifications.

the video card driver is downloaded directly from Nvidia, unmodified. version 461.40. works like a charm. -

The system bios could possibly have been changed to give it driver support.

@rzrwolf What kind of mods u had to do to fit in RTX 2070? On attached screens i see that u had to cut out small squared hole next to heat pipe. Did you have to do anything else? Unfortunately my GPU is dead and im thinking about this kind of upgrade. -
Stock EUROCOM BIOS (it is just modded stock clevo bios) doesnt support unmodded driver installation for RTX cards. At least for laptops before jan 2020.
It is possilbe, that they fixed it in newer modded version of bios, which has the same version 1.0.7.16REU, but with added fix for GPU ID for RTX cards, so drivers are installed out of the box without adding ID manually to inf files.DreDre likes this. -
Also you can solder small copper square (see small solder traces near it) to make perfect fitAttached Files:

You also mentioned something about drivers and BIOS. I assume you're going with eurocom bios instead of dsanke one? -

Thoughts on further mods of heatsinks for 30xx series? )
I can not imagine mod for new size of x-bracket..Attached Files:

That's a much wider spacing and it's not going to be simple.
An X bracket wont help as the hole spacing has changed, where would it poke through to match up? -
It'll be tougher for the dual vapor chamber for sure, since you can't drill through it. But we might be able to rig something up, in form of an adapter, to fit the old mounting. My only concern would be, does that solution produce enough mounting pressure on the die for good contact. I'll reach out to an engineer friend of mine and ask if he could take a look at it, should I get a chance with this card.

At least the vapor chamber mounts other than the core so the general position is kept.

Having one more SM doesn't matter when it's gimped by the power limit.
