I've been playing with an idea of a chiller for the next build. Since every time I visit the desktop oc section, I find myself drawn to the chiller that brother @Mr. Fox runs and how well it has served him over the years.

Actually, this might be the time to go AMD whenever their next socket launches, since Intels BIGlittle experiment looks to be another skippable gen.

Hey everyone. I wasn't able to find the info for this so thought of asking the knowledgeable people here. I have used my p870tm-r normally and for the first time trying to connect the thunderbolt ports to an external device. The monitor I bought is : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083ZFG1PF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I connect it to a macbook pro 13inch from the usb c outlet and it is recognized but my clevo doesn't recognize. I am trying to understand if the clevo thunderbolt port output is compatible or not. Secondly do I have to change something in Prema Bios for this.

I really hope that someone here, if they are kind and have time could post a prema tutorial for the newer bioses esp for this one and otherwise I am clueless of what to do beyond the basic undervolt and overclock settings. Do I need to make a change in prema for this to work ?

Also any common discord or XRC chat where some of the people here owning the p870 go ? Would be nice to speak to some ppl and figure it out.

Here is my device manager showing 2 missing drivers. The second one shows up on connecting the display but goes away after disconnecting.

Seems like a found a solution to the thunderbolt usage problem by trial and error ( and some reading). In the Prema bios changing under advanced chipset control, changing the last menu item from DDI -> mdp to 2 DDI -> TBT allowed both the TBT (thunderbolt) ports to work for the display including touchscreen !. Wonder if there is a detailed prema bios guide somewhere to know more about the other options and what they mean.

unsure if they will get stock, usually they are pretty quick to the market with something new, but I didn't see any 30 series yet and EVOC has them afaik. I'm sure these MXM versions still use the same gpu's die in the center so same shortage of stock ?

I wonder if it's cheaper to get a 870 series with a 3080 then buy a 3080 DT right, lmfao

From the looks of it the inventory is quite scarce, so they will likely only be selling whole new systems fitted with the 30x0s. And with the gpu mounting being wider, it will need hard modding to get non-vc heatsinks to even fit.

Bought parts, for P 870tm, ordered on the Clevo website, from Germany, paid money, and for a parcel with a tracking number. 10 days have passed. no tracking number, and no reply. does not answer any questions. so be in the know. This is probably some kind of left, fake site ?. https://clevo-computer.com/en

Their site does mention very high demand and delayed deliveries. I've bought a replacement cpu heatsink from their ebay store, before the pandemic. It was delivered within 3 days and they even threw in some German gummi bears candy along with it, lol.

However, I would expect them to at least answer your emails after 10 days.

on ebay, it is possible other people work. I noticed that what is sold on ebay, not everything is sold on this website. but I still have not been answered, and the tracking number has not been sent. and in the description when bought, it is written, courier service with tracking number, DPD. ships out within 2 business days.

the LAN port on this machine is gigabit yes? what would be the cause of not getting full 1Gbps despite having that internet? ethernet cable provided by ISP and they cover the plans so doubt its the cable, I have 3-4 cables tried all getting around 350-400mbps instead.

Killer 9.0.0.49 (Killer E2400 Gigabit ethernet) but should work on the newer Killer Giga ethernet controller for TM. I use the INF as well. And no Killer bloat.

What is your driver version? None from Clevo work?

My intel AX201 wifi card gets my full 540 ish Mbit on AC wifi if the airwaves are clear so the ethernet card will do that easily usually.

not too familiar with ram OC. 128GB at 2933mhz @ cl 15 17 17 is that any good?

default is 2400 cas 17 but changing it to 15 doesnt seem much of a difference? sticker shows 2666 cl17 instead though, 1.35v instead of 1.2v

Still boggles my mind how poorly the CPU heatsinks can fit on the TM series.

Since I sold my P870TM barebones, I relidded my 9900ks with the stock IHS for selling:

    DSCN3847[1].JPG

With the now even slightly more decreased height (due to the solder being removed), I did a quick install with nano grease pea application and ran CB23 and it overheated almost immediately even at 4.5 all core. Taking it back apart, here is the separation between the heatsink and the CPU:

    DSCN3849.JPG

As a test, I reinstalled the shim mod and of course at 4.5 no more overheating and CB23 ran like always except in a few degrees cooler with the delidded stock IHS + shim versus the stock IHS + shim from before. With the same dollop of Nanogrease:

Everything is stacked against the TM1 cpu heatsink.. the uneven ILM that rests on the heatsink, poor contact due to z-height issues with IHS.. c-clips causing uneven pressure and the 1mm thin coldplate that does not cover all 4 heatpipes.

You also hit a point of diminishing returns due to bottlenecks. For instance I've been running this KF at 5.1 daily for a while now, but my GTX1080 can't feed it fast enough in CPU bound games such as Warzone.
