Hello, fairly new p870tm1-g owner. I notice that when stressing CPU, the fans on left side of laptop blow and when GPU stresses the right side fan blows. When I took back panel off to delid CPU, noticed that the heatsink and fans on left side go to GPU and heatsink and fan on right side goes to CPU. What's the deal with that? shouldn't the fan on the CPU heatsink be blowing when CPU is under load?

Edit: Wait, I think it's backwards because I flip it around to take the back off... so when I flip it back around, the gpu's are on the right side and cpu is on the left....? I think I am just dumb nevermind.

Before liquid metal, HOT. 4.5GHz hitting at or over 90c.

After liquid metal and some tweaking with obsidian control station to help with fan control, it's pretty good in my opinion. 4.9GHz stress test for an hour peaked 81c which it hit half an hour in. Haven't messed that much with undervolting yet. Maybe get a custom bottom tray with a fan to help with airflow? Looked like there was an empty 3-pin fan connector on the mobo if I remember right.

Attached are also my idle temps. Are the GPU a bit high or is that fine? I took the lower screenshot just after I ended stress test which is why that one says 60c for CPU.

I already upgraded my KM1 with the i7 8086K, I'll buy the TM1 heatsink and some senior members like @Papusan told me that I have to replace the backplate as well...
Where can I find the TM1 CPU heatsink backplate? please advise.

I wanted a 1440p 120/144hz monitor paired with my p870tm, but only options I saw were 1080p 144hz or 4k 60hz available. I went ahead and got the 4k 60hz. Any reason there was no 1440p 144hz option?

Just ordered an EVOC P870TM1 on friday with the i7-8086K. Didn't see an option for the i9-9900K.

I wonder if I should reconsider and wait????

If you are a content creator the 9900K will be faster, if you just want to game then it will make no difference.

Nope, the igpu isn't used at all so no optimus ever, display is permanently through dgpu, either gsync or no gsync (which only appears in nv control panel as an option if available).

Clevo didn't answer my email. Well they did. They said "there's nothing planned for Z390, 4 fans and RTX"
Which means there is something planned.
It's not a bad idea to buy a P870TM1 from HIDevolution right now, if you actually need a system. Just get the vapor chamber upgrade. But if you already have a decent system, I would wait until next year. You know the Z390 with 4 fans will come out.

Fairly easy. Remove 2 screws and use a guitar pic to go around the edges and gently pull it apart. Remove the 4 screws and the video cable and your done.

Got a question for you folks. I recently just bought an 2 new SSD's. an 850 EVO and a 960 EVO, for this laptop. The 960 EVO is M2 nvme, it will be my 3rd M2 drive (I have 2 SATA M2's already) and the 850 EVO I want to use to fill the 2nd HDD slot next to the mechanical that came with the laptop.

I got the 960 installed, all is well. However the laptop will not recognize the 850 EVO in Disk Management, file explorer, or the BIOS. From my research, I unfortunately believe the slot has become disabled by some of the other drives I have installed (even though I confirmed the slot is indeed enabled in the BIOS).

I looked through the owner's manual(not jack squat in there) and looked online, but cant find which, if any, drive slots on this laptop get disabled if using a certain drive configuration. Anyone have any information on this or know why this drive isn't being recognized by chance, or how to fix it? Thanks.

that should not be happening. i can use all three M.2 slots while using two SATA. schematic also shows they aren't overlapped and disabled, only 4 SATA ports gets disabled while the two SATA port that aren't disabled are the ones on your mobo. disabled ones doesn't even have a port.

naw, they made the heatsink thicker than it needed. can use vc to expand surface area and put more pipes, it'll still end in similar size of the current heatsink.

Is this thread for the older (or newer model) to this one --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...0tm-g-owners-lounge-phoenix-4.809589/page-257 . I am guessing p870TM-G is the newer one and this thread is for the older model. I am also guessing that p870TM-G = p870TM1-G but please correct me if I am wrong.

I am waiting on news to surface of 9900k in this machine so as to get ready to buy one! In the meantime I had a question about ssd caching in the machine. My situation will be something like this : In my new system (I am yet to get) I plan to have a 1 tb nvme samsung 970 evo for regular purposes and I have a mechanical 2 tb hdd. I also have a spare 120gb ssd lying around. I was hoping to use the ssd as a caching drive for the hdd only. I need the steps of how to achieve this. Can anyone point me to reading/steps for this ?

In my current system (lenovo y510p) there is Expresscache and that doesn't require much setup other than just installing the software and cleaning the cache drive from within windows 8.1. But not sure how one would do this on a clevo esp for the use case I mentioned above ie only for 1 hdd. I will post the question in the other thread too.
