    Great news!
Try some 17w/mk thermal pads too. They make a difference.

P870KM1-G running Doom at 1080P with Ultra setting. See beginning and the end of the video for laptop temps & statistics! Fans set to auto... Living in a igloo.

Its probably a boring benchmark, but it is up for future reference for anyone with interest. Enjoy brothers ;-)

P.S: Sorry for the benchmark being a demo.

No I think they can manage 4.7 at 1.3v or so for Kaby. Much more than I get but you know.

    @Mr. Fox

I am starting to think my CPU heatsink is bent and not making proper contact. I remember you used a sheet of paper that let you know the pressure points between the CPU and the heatsink. Can you tell me where you got those? I want to test mine.
I had already removed the C-clips and made very little to no difference. ANything else i can try without welding the shim? Manually bent the heatsink?

@iunlock @Mobius 1 probably could back this up. Skylake could not hold 4.4 at that though.

I've seen some 7820HK's able to hold 47x at just under >1.2v that I've driven into the 1.1's

As we all know it varies, but no it doesn't run at 1.4v...

That would be default and untuned. Once tuned it doesn't run at 1.3v, or at least shouldn't. If it does, the driver doesn't know what he/she is doing.

Like any chip, the engine needs to be tuned... Of course some will do better than others.

I'm working on 48x at the moment for benches.

The 6820HK could achieve 44x, however, that is equivalent to the 7820HK hitting 48x, which takes some work.

I've tuned my previous 6820HK's to run 43x stable, but the sweet spot for that chip is 41x for what it is. It ran at 40x without trying as well...

The 7820HK runs stock without blinking at 44x. It can easily do 45x and 46x with minor tuning. 47x is doable as well and 48x is a bonus depending on the lottery.

These are mobile chips so it is as expected. No backward surprises here... If anything only forward surprises in what the new kaby's can do.

When I said 1.3v stable I meant skylake doing 4.4, which is very rare to keep it that low.

Which network adapter is better for online gaming like Playing Unknown Battlegrounds? The wireless intel dual band or the wired killer Ethernet e2500. In theory wired should be better right?

Correct, Wired is usually better. It should be pretty hard to notice the difference in games so I would use whatever if more convenient for you.

Yes, but your intel duel band is not going to significantly be much slower if your getting a decent signal.

    conducto on gpu also?

On the topic of GPUs, I locked my 1080s to 0.931v and is very stable with a nice drop in power consumption.

Yep, I did conducto on GPU as well. :) 0 issues for almost a week now, everything runs great now and great temps. I was a little worried about the run off (though I used a tiny amount and was very careful in applying), but then I remembered, I never did clean up the arctic mx-4 that had dried around the gpu, meh I'm ok, otherwise my PC would have fried by now, I have moved it around and tilted it a few times since the application. lol

    Hi Prema,
Sorry for jumping in really quick but:
I have noticed that the P870KM1 has 2X DDI (Digital display interfaces) either via 2X mini DisplayPort/s or (Intel jhl6540) 2X Thunderbolt 3 port/s! Can one DDI channel be enabled on one or both Thunderbolt 3 port/s and then split in to another two external monitors by using this "Startech Thunderbolt 3 to dual DisplayPort adapter"? or can two monitors be plugged into each of the laptops Thunderbolt 3 ports while sharing only 1X DDI channel while using the other external monitor in one of the mini DispalyPorts?

    https://www.startech.com/uk/AV/Converters/Video/thunderbolt-3-to-dual-displayport~TB32DP2

Can I have 3x 1440P Gsync monitors plugged in via DisplayPort 1.2 to the P870KM1 via one mini DisplayPort and another two via the "Startech Thunderbolt 3 to dual DisplayPort adapter" Through one of the P870KM1 thunderbolt 3 ports?
I understand that there is a HDMI 2.0 connection on the P870KM1, but the 3X Acer predators xb271hua which I might be purchasing only have a HDMI 1.4 also G-sync is not supported through HDMI. What do you reckon about this setup?
I have contacted Startech and they do not have an answer. I feel gutted. I have even searched the web. I'm really sorry if this sounds confusing too. I be really grateful if I can find an answer of it working or not. Kind regards.

The HDMI port on this system is v2.0 while the two DP ports are v1.3.
You can have 4 active displays of up to 3840x2160 resolution at 60Hz when combining the internal screen with 3 external ones.
These 3 external displays can be:

    - 1 x HDMI and 2 x DP
    or
    - 1 x HDMI, 1 x TB3 and 1 x DP
    or
    - 1 x HDMI and 2 x TB3 (each using it's own port)

Eurocom are advertising a "Matrox TripleHead2Go DP Version" adapter for the Sky X9E2/E3. This is why I was thinking about daisy chaining 3x monitors you see (1x through MiniDP & 2X through a Startech TB to Dual DP adapter):

    http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/displayport/

This is where I got confused and decided to ask around before purchasing 3X Acer predators. Eurocom might have made a mistake adding the Matrox adapter to the SKY X9 configurator. I really want to make it happen lol.

Thank you for your insight buddy. But its kind of too late. I have just bought one these online: http://plugable.com/products/tbt3-dp2x/
Someone needs to try it! Windows or the P870KM1 might disable or switch the DDI at the HDMI port to one of the thunderbolt 3 ports. Maybe, Might, worth a try... I don't know lol

I have been searching every where, and half of the people say "yes" and the other half say "no"!
I thinks its worth a shot.

Check this video that I have found. Linus gets G-sync from a thunderbolt adaptor. Go to 14:38 on this video:

    https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/673867-g-sync-through-thunderbolt-hub/

I already got one Acer Predator XB271HUA for now. I will see if I can find a cheap one from a high street shop. I will try both of the monitors through the "Plugable Thunderbolt 3 to dual DisplayPort adapter" using 1 DDI to thunderbolt 3 port/s. If it does not work; I will send the monitor back for a refund. If it does work! then I will buy the 3rd XB271HUA monitor, and I will be one happy chap :)

I was at 84 celsius full load after 3 hours of witcher 3 on my gtx 1070 laptop - i was boosting to over 2ghz tho cause of my +150 overclock.

after conductonaut, i never break 73 celsius now. its truly amazing. just be very very very careful when applying, watch youtube videos for this specific paste, its a very unique fluid/solid state substance, its pretty awesome actually, but yeah a tiny amount does the trick. super super tiny.

Why not 3x 120mm? Bigger fans means wasted airflow. Aka the airflow go right into the plastic on the bottom cover. Not into the grills. And 3 is better than two

Nice! Which fan model are you using? You could also try the 120mm NF-F12 ippc3000 (7.63mm h2o). I just ordered these fans for a u3 plus mod but the parts won't be arriving until two weeks.

I'm using the 140mm NF-A14 iPPC 3000 models. The fan controller I will build is based off this 556 controller circuit.

    http://www.overclockers.com/pwm-fan-controller/

    Edit:
After reading Papusan's post, I am wishing I ordered 3 of the 120mm ones instead. I wasn't certain if they would fit when I first ordered the parts. I would reorder, but shipping things to Singapore is a hassle (I'm here temporarily for work). Although I might swing by sim lim square to see if I can find some in stock.

Nope, I use prefer max performance in nvidia control panel, and I use fast sync alongside my gsync, and I frame limiter to 100 fps on a 102hz overclock on the screen.

i have not modified any power limits. HWINFO shows it boosts to 2012 core on my 1070, usually its around 1950 though.

If you're limiting FPS at 1080p and the card isn''t running full bore 99% util i guess I can understand yeah.

Has anyone had issues with external monitor lag? I am using live video mixing software called resolume and am outputting through hdmi to an external monitor. I am not having any issues with lag or stutter on my laptops display when I do not have an external output plugged in. This is also not a frame rate dropping issue within the software I am using. I have tried changing tons of nvidia control panel settings, updating drivers, reinstalling windows, different external monitors, different hdmi cables, mini display port out, changing the frame refresh rate on both monitors. I have talked to both Sager and Nvidia extensively and neither have any idea whats going on. Has anyone had this issue with either gaming or any type of video output to an external monitor? I know some laptop brands have audio drivers that can interfere with video output, but I have not read anything about that for Sager. If anyone can please help or make any suggestions, I would very much appreciate it!

I have the exact problem, but only when G-sync is enabled on my XB271HUA monitor. As soon as I launch a game and hit a 3D scene my FPS drop to 1-3 FPS!! This happen in every 1 to 4 chances. And the only way for me to correct the proper FPS is to exit the game by pressing the Window key then clicking back on the game to resume where I have left off. This always corrects the speed of the FPS. I never understood why it does this. My P870KM1 is running at 1080p and my external monitor is on 1440P. I have tried it via HDMI and there is no lag, but this is due to not having G-sync through the HDMI cable. This only happens to me when G-sync is enabled via mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort. I have tried different refresh rates and it seems not to solve the problem. I hope this information I have given you helps in some way. If you ever resolve the problem then please let this whole forum now for future reference. By the way! welcome to the forum bro.
