Ahhh, they are probably thinking that you want to buy extended warranty.

And then second part would pertain to providing/establishing that the GPU is damaged or not.

Thats the thing. I can return the laptop but then i have to go through the process of shipping it back and possible getting another one because i still like the laptop. Im just afraid that the thermal situation could have reduced the lifespan of the GPU

Not really . I would run some firestirke / skydriver / cinebench stress tests and the usual games.
If after the repaste things work as they should and you don't get crashes / I would assume you are good.

I concur. And if it does give out, the machine is still under warranty should you decide to keep it.
Remember. the price of replacing one of these gpus is 1250.00+. So do keep that in mind.

I would return the laptop and ask for a replacement which has actually been through some form of quality control and testing! You have evidence that the one you have quite clearly has not been through quality control and testing. OK, we all make mistakes, but the mistake they made should not be happening in their line of business... Unless they will offer you a FREE extended warranty to put your mind at rest. Did you inform them of their blatant error before you did the repaste?

I tried to flash newer vesion of EC/BIOS (bios 1.0.5.03 and EC 1.0.5.02) - i made dos usb stick using rufus - than unpacked there archives of bios/ec in separate folders.(followed some guide on forum how to do it on clevo laptops), than when i was rdy to go, turned off UEFI, booted with stick, choosen language, next moved to folder with EC firmware and typed ECflash.bat - than something like this appeared

everything is fine but i still dont know how to flash new bios on this thing :) Anyone with experience how to do it?

PS. I ordered P870KM-G, but in bios model is P870KM_KM1 - so i downloaded bios/ec from ftp for KM1. When i asked my reseller which one should i choose, he told me to pick the one that i have ( so i guess its km1).

That's cool of you to say. Thanks for that.

@Jehdo - The rep you emailed talked to me briefly about this yesterday. I'll go to bat for you with management about this, and either myself or the same rep will follow up later today. I also already notified my build team about it. They seemed dejected about their oversight and apologized. We'll see what we can do for you ASAP!

There are one or more files missing. You'll have to touch base with your seller again so you can get the complete package to flash the system.

I just that if i hadn't been savvy enough i would have never realized to check for this or even know that something is wrong. This is a 1200 dollar replacement part so im not too happy about the situation. So thank you for understanding my situation.

So glad that you knew what you were doing well enough to figure this out sooner than later! Feel free to PM me here in addition to emailing the tech support person you've corresponded with. I'll bring management up to speed once they're in the office (still kind of early, here), and we'll go from there.

Hello guys .... i am looking to get the P870KM1 with dual 1080s in SLI.... I currently have p870dm with 980m sli...

I want to get some info on the temps of P870KM1... For all the P870KM1 users with 1080 sli can you tell me your GPU and CPU temps? I like the idea of having that power but if my GPUs will be running super hot then i would probably go with a single 1080. please advice

    thanks!

Thanks Phoenix! Now, that only shows temp of one card maxing out at 77c (good temps) how about the other card? The problem i had with my p870dmg with 980m sli is that one of the card would run 10c hotter than the other. I wanna know if this problem persist

wow those are pretty insane temperatures. Now how about after an hour of gaming... lets say crysis or a GPU intensive game? I noticed overwatch and crysis 3 get my GPUs hotter than most of the other games... during overwatch my hotter gpu can reach 82c ... the other one around 76c

no problems, it's just that the FHD 120hz/5ms panel on the MSI GT73VR looks so much better than the QHD screen on the Clevo. It has more vibrant colors and looks so much sharper

I see... sorry if this has been discussed before, I have not been following the forums lately.
so i have to decide if i want Raw power like the 7700k and the 1080 sli and an OKAY screen or a beautiful screen but with a less powerful processor and only one 1080?

Can anyone recommend a soft case and/or a backpack that will fit this laptop? I see a lot of soft cases and backpacks for 17.3" laptops, but this thing is so thick that I'm thinking I'll need something even bigger. Just wondering what other people are using.

The 120Hz WQHD in the Clevo (B173QTN01.0) is hw g-sync (NVSR).
If high-res fast paced games and smoothest game play are your thing then that's the way to go.
Some people don't like that its technique of achieving better than usual TN horizontal viewing angles is creating a 'line-effect'.

If you want the most beautiful screen and best color reproduction there is only the 60Hz 4K AUO IPS (B173ZAN01.0) with 100% Adobe RGB (software g-sync). That one knocks the rest of the map in that category.

If you want FHD 120Hz then you can opt for the AUO B173HAN01.1 (IPS & NSVR).

There is also the AUO 120Hz FHD IPS (B173HAN01.2) 120Hz screen model without g-sync which @Mr. Fox had at one point.

Just remember that the auo 1440p 120hz TN
Panel with gsync can get upto 70% in adobe rgb
    And 94% in sRGB
Colour gamuts as calibrated by Pheonix

Because it has no horizontal banding effect and it because it has a much higher Adobe sRGB and NTSC color accuracy

I will pull the figures for j00 later tonight when I'm in front of my computer as I'm on my Galaxy S7 now

As Prema says, he hopes to have it ready for the EVOC P870KM1 long before mid-July...but even if it isn't ready by the time yours ships, assuming you are buying it from a Prema Partner, they will reach out to you once it is released and flash it for you remotely.
