Just double the numbers of the 1080 for those "comparison" websites.

If by cancer you mean something automated has produced ridiculous outcomes because of compounded errors in scripting... Yes you're right on a pathophysiology of carcinogenesis level too :)

It's just spec based conjecture. Like equating tdp with actual consumption or pixel shader power with FPS.

hey guys i just got my P870KM-G today and i added a regular SATA ssd and another m.2 ssd. Neither my bios nor windows is detecting either of them. Anyone know why this is happening?

NVME drivers wont show up in the BIOS afaik. Are they showing up in your device manager? If so, then all you need to do is to partition them.

Might want to check if the ports disabled in the BIOS. Also are there any other drives connected to the system that are being detected?
Im guessing since you have Windows installed, its another nvme/sata drive?

Not sure if I saw a setting in the bios to enable the ports. Only the one sandisk x400 that came with the laptop shows up.

Go into Disk Management and make sure they are initialized.

If you don't see them there, then contact your vendor's tech support.

I have an old SSD which will only work in the slot under the slave GPU, but not the Master.
Also make sure you push it in properly that it actually goes into the socket. ;)

You could move the 2.5" to the other bay and test it there and confirm the slot is good. You can use it to check orientation and that it is inserted fully too.

when i put in my ssd (as well into the slot underneath the gpu) i acciedentally pushed it underneath the interface (it was a 7mm drive). it took me almost 2 hours to figure this out (i even took it out and put it back in a few times lel...)... haven't felt so dumb in ages...;-)

For those with the P870-KM1 with GTX1080 SLI. Did anyone notice an electrical buzz noise coming from the center of the laptop (where the graphics card are) when SLI is enabled and under load? The noise stops when browsing or under no graphics load (regular work). Moreover similar noise come from the Eurocom 780W A/C.

I am wondering if this is a generic for the P879-KM1/780W A/C and is simply fan bearings or simply fan noise or something not ordinary?

One monitor each port. Including the 2 thunderbolt ports.
More if you can get thunderbolt dock with extra ports.
But I read something about one of the Thunderbolt ports disabling if they are monitors connected to the other ones. Probably in the manual.

Hey guys i benchmarked my clevo today with unigine heaven.

Presets were set to Ultra @ 1080P and got a score of 2400 with average GPU temp @ 90C

This seems a bit low for the score and a bight high on the temps. Also I had the fans at auto. Could this be a bad paste job?

System specs are 7700k 1080gtx 16gb kingston hyperx ram

EDIT: I ran the test again with 100% fan speed and got ~2550

So i took apart my laptop to check out the paste situation. I found something interesting.......

After changing out the compound its a night and day difference. Benchmarks and temps are better than my FE 1080gtx on my desktop. PLEASE be careful if you order your laptop from Pro-Star. That is some amateur BS.

Well i asked prostar and they basically told me I might be able to buy it. That is a surprise to me that they said that i need proof that the card life was reduced. Im pretty sure the pictures and the fact that my card was running at 70-80c at idle and ~ 95c at load are proof enough but i guess im wrong. Poor customer service in my opinion and kind of sad.
