No worries Papusan, would you like me to do a little dance on my street corner while you throw nickels at my feet too, shouting "dance monkey, dance!"

But no probs, I'll see what I can do about the correct Hwinfo setup hehe

Maybe what you saw was like an auto industry development car. For example, about 5 years ago, I got to drive an early prototype of Mazda's SKYACTIV technology, which includes updated chassis, engines, and transmissions. Except on the outside, the cars looked similar to a previous-generation Mazda 6 that you could buy from a dealer at the time.

Anybody know if 230 W supply would be sufficient for light OCing on P750dm2 with 1070?
    Thanks!

Can I ask about the ESS Sabre DAC, Is there any software that bundled with the machine or from Clevo support page to confirm it's existence, Why is RealTek still in there ?

I only paid 10% deposit of the total price as a "pre-order" for the 120Hz 4K screen. Seeing that the possibility of its existence or even manifesting into mass production is very unlikely, I have a few options before calling Metabox and negotiate:

1/ Downgrade to 120Hz FHD whenever that arrives. Probably hold off until full G-Sync integration. I'm no stranger to 'regular' 120Hz 1080p thanks to my AW 17, but have never experienced G-Sync.

2/ Go with standard 60Hz 4K G-Sync. Again I already had that on the P750ZM, however no G-Sync.

3/ Cancel the order and get the deposit refunded. Keep fingers crossed the 4K 120Hz will come in a refresh model next year.

    What do you guys reckon?

Does anyone know if the combined touchpad and fingerprint reader is going to be pain in the a** usable? Like false fingerprint reads when using the touch pad or a null touchpad area over the sensor?

Thank you, can you confirm that the area over the fingerprint sensor still acts like a touchpad or is this area null?

I was a bit surprised when Clevo started using these combined touchpad/fingerprint readers and there was no information i could find to indicate the behavior of them.

dayum, thats some very impressive CPU cooling right there! 98W CPU power at 4.6 Ghz and 80C max temps??? holy crap!

go for broke now, u owe it to us! :D i wanna see 5 Ghz stable sub 90C

tbh, if i were to get a new machine now it would be a veeery close call between phoenix 2 and this... definitely single 1080 config!

Heya Ccarollo. I played Witcher 3 tonight until my eyes broke (stock settings). The keyboard generated a little warmth, but not uncomfortable at all; the surrounding hand rests and touchpad stayed perfectly cool, no heat there at all :)

But seriously though, probably a decent lappy with good build quality, some OC potential on that 1070, and it will run 1080p high frames... Not a bad buy :) I'm just impressed with this P775DM3... Not in a weird way or anything, like for example; when I'm spooning my laptop at night, sometimes I let my wife join in for a three way spoon (not for too long though or my lappy might get jealous o_O)

    LOL

well i would prefer a 15 inch form factor with a single 1080, but compromising on performance and going 1070 just cuz of 15" wouldnt be satisfactory... this is actually new, previous models always sported the same components in both 15 and 17 inch form factors. im guessing its the beefed up cooling necessary for the 1080 cards that prevents that...

So my P751DM2-G with GTX1070 has arrived. Very loud fans, especially if you are coming from P751DM which was whisper quiet. Have to tweak this, or I can not bring it with me to morning meetings at the lab.

    But now benchmarks!

I had to remove the stickers from the palmrest, never seen so many... Little heat and off they went. Now much nicer.

How bad is the fan noise during a full load? Temps too I suppose. And did you get the 1080p (and up it to 75hz?) screen?

um....all P7 series have shared heatsinks, not just the 15 inchers ^^ u could even say that the phoenix 2 has a shared heatsink, with the cpu being connected to the gpus in a sli setup with the vapor chamber....

So my P775DM3, i7-6700k, GTX 1080 from Hyperbook arrived today.
I've been playing around with the benchmarks and HW monitors.
I'm a tiny bit worried because I'm on the edge of thermal throttling on the CPU doing tests in 3DMark (Fire Strike, and Time Spy).

It is a really warm day today in Warsaw so my room temp where I am conducting the tests is probably around 27-28'C.

Here are some screenshots with the fan profile set to Maximum:
    http://imgur.com/a/MemzR
    http://imgur.com/a/Ww8lG

On the Overclock fan profile the second core of the CPU reaches 93'C and throttles slightly during the end of the Time Spy test.
On the Auto fan profile all cpu cores throttle.

As far as the noise goes in the Max fan profile - it is fairly loud, but not that annoying. I've definitely heard louder, and more annoying laptops.
I have given Hyperbook a call to report on this, and they said that they are building several identical laptops to mine (mine was one of the first), and they will be testing them extensively to monitor the temps.
We will be in contact on Monday after my weekend of testing the laptop to see how things are going.

What do you guys think of these results?

After i3 to i7 swap, I got a lot better temps and 600 points more in TimeSpy. 64C for CPU and 69C for GPU, not bad at all! CPU is UV -150

I have ordered some 3000 Mhz cl16 G.Skill rams for this baby, I just hope the factory bios will fully support it and not lock it at 2400 mhz (or even yet, not even boot) ;)

So does anyone have experience on the P775DM2/3 combined touchpad/fingerprint reader? I want to know if you can feel the fingerprint sensor on the touchpad and if the area around the sensor is a null area for the touchpad?

Maybe it was my fault but I had bad experience with XTU when I used it on my P775DM1-G.
Whenever I lowered core voltage or increased multiplier, 1 core stress was OK, but when all 4 cores were stressed with XTU stress test or Prime 95, the core frequency dropped under 1 GHz.

Can definitely feel it, as it is a big indentation... Quite pronounced. I haven't noticed any decreased response around that area though, and tbh I personally don't even notice it's there when I'm using the touchpad.

An indentation? oh great, i appreciate the combination for those who want it, but does any re-seller offer the Clevo without fingerprint ID? Seriously who actually uses it? For someone that wants a touchpad and not a combined indentation annoying them every time.

    Just my preference.

I will more than likely never use the fingerprint sensor myself, can't really say it would bother me though, from experience you never really use the whole trackpad, even when swiping, pretty sure I would forget it was there after a week or so of use .

Signed up to ask why would clevo be backwards and make the cooling of p775dm2 worse than it's predecessor p775dm1? There was 7 heat pipes on the old model with 980m, now current model with 1080 only gets 5 heat pipes and 1080 has higher TDP than 980m, now the result is the cpu is toasty on the new model, good job clevo you cheapo's, will not buy.

They could possibly have designed P775DM3 around Kabylake, which would point at 7700K being easier to cool than it's Skylake predecessor, Intel did say they wanted to release during the back to school period, seems like they were delayed and are now late for the party .

But yeah that does seem pretty backwards to me too, why downgrade the cooling, even if the new CPU's run cooler? I think it is safe to say, we would all rather have a few degree's C° off our CPU/GPU's than a couple hundred gram lighter DTR .

They are 12v fans now aren't they? and they look about the same size to me, the heat pipe layout just doesn't make sens, and is a clear downgrade .
