Moi! I already had a look at them also. Unfortunately they don't offer 4K screen. I mainly use laptop for photo and video editing and the 4K screen has a lot better color reproduction than the FHD screen. I'm under the impression that the FHD screen is quite poor in this regard?

The 4k panel is better, have you reached out to them about if they could sort something out for you?

All packed and ready to go back for screen replacement and some other upgrades. I have gotten used to blistering performance of this machine, and now working on my Macbook Air is going to be such a drag..!

Just backlight bleed. Not really their fault I guess, it can happen with any machine. They are good retailers, so don't worry.

Though they do not offer prema bios and delided cpu, but otherwise they are really great. I can't complain.

I asked my reseller about the cpu throttle on my p775dm3-g and if a comming bios update will fix it.

They say that clevo are working on a bios update for these machines that should be finished testing a couple of weeks after the chinese new years.
They didn't say if it is going to fix the cpu throttle but I got the impression that was one of the issues the bios update will fix.

Well that is great news. Who is your reseller? Scan, reseller I bought my machine from here in Blighty, have told me the same thing that is an update is indeed in works. But they did not mention anything regarding throttling issues.

I bought it from a Norwegian reseller called multicom.

Maybe I was reading inbetween the lines, I sent them another mail asking if that bios update will adress the throttling

Is there any chatter about the P775DM3-G getting the Z270 chipset and becoming something like the P775KM1-G, like Clevo have done with the P870 ????

Clevo says they simply don't have the human resources to upgrade the P775DM3-G to the Z270 right now...but I expect to see it come down the road a bit.

The Prema bios is out for the P775DM3-G, right? All I have to do is wait for my reseller to contact me about flashing my computer?

I am in market for a mechanical keyboard as my trusty old IBM one just went kaput! I am planning to use it for gaming and typing, so maybe something akin to Cherry MX brown. Any suggestions?

I have never heard of Ducky before. I will look into it. How about the Corsair's K series? I found a nice deal for about hundred quids on K95 RGB (!) with six(!) rows of macro keys! Being a big believer in Macros, I do like the idea of it.

Hi all, I've got a usb-c dock with displayport that I use. The display port and everything that I try to use with it works fine, however any mouse or keyboard I try to use with it is very laggy and freezes up a lot. I've used the dock with other laptops with no issues like this. Has anyone else experienced this? any solutions? Laptop is a P750DM2-G with 6700K & GTX1070, Win 10 Pro.

    Thanks, Wesley

    Ducky keyboards are great. :)

I have a Cooler Master Storm Quickfire XT with MX Browns, feels great to type on and is made by the best keyboard OEM - Costar in Taiwan.

What TB 3 firmware are you on?

What USB 3 driver do you have installed? I've found the one built into Win 10 isn't that great. I've found that some USB 3 devices don't work properly with the native driver, but work fine if I force in the modded Win 7 USB 3 drivers instead from here

I know this has probably been asked before. But how the heck do I install graphics drivers on the NP9152 (P750DM2-G) with a GTX 1070? driver from sager says no compatible hardware.. driver from Nvidia directly says the same thing..

    If this hasn't been asked:

Reinstalled Windows cause reasons. All drivers worked except Nvidia graphics driver. Device manager shows just the basic microsoft adapter. Looking into that adapter is states that the PCIe device still needs installed. Updating windows to 1607 to see if its just not compatible with old windows 10 for some reason.

Oh. Also fun fact.. My system arrived with a 100mv undervolt applied. So. That's a thing.

UPDATE: So the one from Nvidia's website worked after updating to Windows 10 1607. The one from Sager's website did not.

Thanks for keyboard recommendations. I must say I am inclined to get either the Corsair K95 with its cherry browns or Razer's blackwidow with clicky switches (what a ridiculous name!)

Back to the topic, I had a chat with Scan people, and they informed me that they still haven't received a stable bios update for the machine and it is likely that I won't be able to update to Kaby Lake. Not that i7 6700k is a slouch but it would have been nice to have the latest and greatest!

    That's weird...
Cause like I said mine is using the same bios version yours has, all they have to do is put in a 7700k and test it.

On the keyboard topic I have a corsair k70rgb cause I don't really want macros and the keyboard is solid. Not only that, but there are tons of themes for the rgb lighting.

4K screen or FHD? It appears that Fortune Technologies are not importing the 3K screen into Europe at present - so if I do stick to the UK, I can only choose between the two - unless mysn uk could drop their price considerably.

Is the FHD the 75Hz G-sync one, similar to what I had in the DM1-G (LP173WF4-SPF1) ?

Is it worth the extra going for the 4K on a 17" ? I do some photography, so the idea of 100% sRGB is a tiny bit appealing.

Not sure why Scan say that. they use stock BIOS's and I'm running 1.06.04 with a 7700K with no issues. I even posted the BIOS up that I got from Clevo
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/kaby-lake-bios-updates-p775dm3-g-p751dm2-g.800128/

This is why I don't like using Scan for systems, they never seem to do things quite right. I know when I've sent faulty hard drives back they've always come back and said 'no fault found', and when I ask them how they tested the drive they just used the Seatools program and ran a short test, so not checking the drive fully even though I gave them detailed instructions on how to reproduce the problem, also had the same issue with other hardware. They are great for components, but when it comes to there 'tech' side they come across as pretty lame

Regarding the keyboard, I will very much like to have a dedicated column of macro keys, maybe not quite something like K95 with its 12 dedicated keys but something like Razer's implementation would be ideal.

My machine was running 1.05.xx. Well they have said they will test and see if they can get 7700K working on the machine. They don't want to do the bios update because if something goes wrong or doesn't work due to compatibility issues, Clevo will not honour the warranty. That is what they told me anyway.

Edit: Do get the 4K screen, it has a wider colour gamut and much better for photo and video work.

    TB3 details are:
    upload_2017-2-2_7-54-45.png

These are the ones you pointed me to a while back. Do you know if they have been updated at all?

I've installed the proper USB 3/3.1 drives you linked to, The hub is still a bit dodgy. FYI it's a Microsoft Display Dock. Using a Razer Keyboard and Mouse is unusable. Using a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard at work now, and it performs okay, still the occasional pause

After a bit of crunch-time, I received a phone call from Donald over at HID Evolution to notify me that my device ( EVOC P750DM2-G) was to be over-nighted to me last night. Got to say, I'm pretty excited for the configuration I've ordered, and can't wait to finally ascend to a socketed mobile platform.

I will probably be taking my time to do a small write-up for my unit and purchasing experience, but I wanted to come and state my interaction with HID Evolution was excellent.

No, it is not similar, it is exactly the same! Either that same panel or the 99.99% similar SPD1 is used.
I personally would pass 4k with a single gpu, because I want more fps rather then more pixels. But if you chose 4k, dont forget to check the type of panel the reseller is using. There are 2 types of 4k panels, both are AUO, but one has GSync and the other does not. I would not even consider a 4k panel for gaming without GSync.

Just heard from Scan UK. They can upgrade the CPU to 7700K and BIOS update seems to be stable on the machine. So that is that. Anybody wants a lightly used 6700k? :D

PS: I am trying to convince Scan people to join the forums here as it is such a helpful community. Lets hope they do.

So, got my laptop finally setup for the most part the way I like it.

I ordered the NP9152 (P750DM2-G) from XoticPC. It arrived with a 100mv undervolt preapplied to the processor. First thing is I installed Prime95 (pre AVX version) and blasted small FFTs. After about 30 seconds, the 7700k was up to 93c. That's not okay with me, so I went into the bios and brought it to a 150mv undervolt. Surprisingly, in my next small FFT test the processor was only at 84c after 30 seconds (though still climbing). I then repasted with MX4 and ran the test again. After 30 seconds I'm at 79c. Awesome.

(Ran some stability tests of course to make sure the processor was alright at stock clocks with a 150mv undervolt... but that's not remotely interesting.)

Fired up some games and honestly everything works great. The performance is slightly better than my overclocked 6700k and stock clocked 980ti in my desktop. The NVMe drive is super snappy and damn quick. And honestly its everything I wanted in a laptop. Except for the screen. I got the 120Hz B156HTN05.2 display. The banding in dark areas is AWFUL. It looks like a 6 bit panel. But in bright areas its mostly fine. Not sure what the hell is up, but I've tried everything I can think of to mess with that banding.. from messing with gamma and contrast to trying to force it to display as at 6bit. So I've decided I think I'll just find a better panel and replace it, but I literally know little to nothing about laptop panels. Looks like it uses a 30 pin connector and is using some sort of standardized placement cause a bunch of panels I've looked up appear to use the same location. I'd imagine as long as the panels are the exact same size and use the same pinout, it should be compatible with just about anything. But, I'm honestly not sure. Anyone know anything about this?

@lex112278 for better temps, delid and apply liquid metal to the 7700k die. Reapply the IHS and paste with IC Diamond. It will easily drop ~20°C.

Yeah, still deciding if I need too. Honestly, I don't think I need to bother unless I wanna OC. (also not a huge fan of IC diamond. I know thermal conductivity is better than MX4 but it kinda scratches stuff)

I reach 99C on P775 and I'm somewhat okay with it as long as performance stays quite high...

Looking for more news about 7700K as it seems it might be stronger.
