I suspect the hardware ID for p750DM with 970m is: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1618&SUBSYS_75031558.
I also have the p750DM and edited the INF (for NVIDIA drivers 358.91) to include the hardware ID of the p750DM with 980m, and the NVIDIA drivers 358.91 installed OK (for me). I have adapted the INF to include the above hardware ID which I think is for the p750/751DM with the 970m. You can try this and see if it allows you to install. No guarantees as I don't have the 970m to test out. Also create a restore point before trying. If anyone tries this and doesn't work, let me know, I will delete.

If someone can send me the following files for a 970m in a P75xDM-G:
-complete system information dump (file from msinfo32)
-system information dump from nvidia control panel
-screen shot from device manager of the gpu hardware id
I can send them over to make sure they add the 970m also. -
Feel free to jump into this conversation:
Here's a thought, it's looking like none of the 17" 4K monitors will be G-Sync. Why? Well Alienware right now appears to have IGZO 17" 4K monitor I would guess that is a Sharp display, and it does not list G-Sync support.
Eurocomm has listed a 17" 4k Clevo notebook using a AUO panel that's not G-Sync either. Are we doomed perhaps?
:/ wonderful... I'm still waiting on a 17" 4K with G-Sync -

Double post.
-
Who's doing the certifying? Nvidia? There's talk on techinferno that it may never get G-Sync with the AUO Panels
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yes it is Nvidia running the certification.

Thanks Meaker.
So on another note I've asked nearly every Clevo Retailer out there, and no one has been able to answer my question. So for the 1st retailer that can get me a solid answer, I will have overwhelming respect for them. Because many have told me they would get back with me with an answer and none have.
What of the new clevo models if any support HDCP 2.2 ?
You can use this link to get you up to speed with the latest with HDCP 2.2. It is well worth the read.

PowerNotebooks Tech Support is helping me with it at the moment. The "8260" I purchased is "working" for the moment, but only in 802.11 g mode. Can't even find any options in the device manager properties window to enable n mode (intel says there should be, and yes I have Pro Set installed). Thinking I bought myself a 50$ knockoff... that'll be returned as soon as I get a new 1535.. But it matters not for the moment... hotel wifi maxes out at 3 mbps -
vertical lines of any kind on an overclocked display is a clear sign that ure stressing the panel too much, its the same as graphical artifacts appearing once u overdo gpu overclocking. if u see such lines, its highly recommended to dial back the refresh rate oc, dont just ignore those signs...

Speaking of display OCing... I was able to squeak out 62 hz before significant artifacts, and a blank screen at 63. Guess I lost the lottery on that one. Maybe it's time to see if my Samsung LTN156HL01 will fit in the machine..
-
That pixelated image can be also due to 354.09 drivers. I've been getting that on my laptop also (while running 354.09) and I can't OC the panel not one bit.

while now I have managed to get the installer to start, after a few moments the installation fails. any idea how to work this out?

Probably it only happens to the 75x models? This is so strange on so many levels
I feel there are very few users contributing to this thread and all we are doing is passing the same information around. I know I have, I've been writing about this "bug" with 354.09 drivers since a month ago -

For those who get this with the 6700K, make sure to undervolt that sucker. As @Mr. Fox has mentioned, by default it is fed WAY too much voltage.
I'm currently running a relatively stable -185mV in XTU. Also check your Turbo Boost Power settings - mine were both set to 53W, and I was experiencing massive Power Limit Throttling until I set them to 95W. Doing that alone pushed my Cinebench score from 695 to 862 at stock clocks.Mr. Fox, CaerCadarn and Scerate like this. -

That's what ended up working for me when I first got it to work.

Also, as @myx says below, also disable driver signature enforcement:

Hi, u can download drivers from http://laptopvideo2go.com/drivers , they are modified and have 1617 and 1618 ids. Normally it takes few days after nvidia release for them to modify. If u download inf alone (right click on link and save as), u need to replace stock inf inside unpacked driver cat somewhere on c:/nvidia... with modified one.
In order to install modified drivers u must reboot to special win10 mode and allow your laptop to install drivers without digital sign or something. Without it drivers wont work . It took me some time to find this information
Here u got some help http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
After you press "7" in hidden menu and your PC will be back from reboot, u will get red notification durning installation of modified drivers, press yes and everything will be fine.
If u forgot to reboot to hidden menu and unlock unasigned drivers, and u get that error with red "X" saying u cannot install newer drivers or driver installation failed (even modified ones), its better to reboot normally first and wait until your pc will finish installing stock nvidia/ms drivers and then do whole process. From what i tested, rebooting straight away into hidden menu and installing modified drivers can make u some troubles cuz after reboot your pc will try no matter what, install stock nvidia/ms driver, even if u start installing modified one in same time.
So first, make your laptop finish on his own, installing what he got, and then make a reboot to hidden menu, press "7" and install modified drivers. This will work 100%, im updating my 750DM with every drivers from over a month.
p.s if u update your copy of win10 with newest 1511 update, u will need to repeat whole process, because windows will rollback your modified driver with stock oneLast edited: Nov 19, 2015CaerCadarn likes this. -
anyone interested in cpu undervolting: it helps to switch from adaptive to static voltage and then manually input the voltage u wanna run ur cpu at. it shaves off additional voltage from the lowest stable adaptive mode at specific given clocks

Lets compare the HD 530 (the 6700K graphics) with the 970M. Its a difference of 441,6 GFlops to 2657 GFlops. Therefore the 970M is only 6x more powerful if we don't compare memory bandwith.
What do we learn from this comment about realworld performance? Not much. But i just wanted to know it...ajc9988 likes this. -

Yeah, but these real-world benches are so system- and benchmark dependent. They give no exact numbers, i just didn't care much. I guess I'm a little bit like Monk...

Honestly, i didn't expect the 530 to score that good compared with the GTX 970M in a graphical benchmark suite. I'm a lil bit impressed... -

The most relevant numbers are 2013 gpu score results showing the 970m to be 7 times faster.
The difference between 60 fps and 9 fps. -
did I hear correctly (at one point in the past) that there might be a 4k screen for the p770dm?
-

As panels become available (in reasonable numbers) it would likely be added as an option. It does depend on that though.

Still patiently waiting for my P77x DM from eurocom. Apparently the 980 should be coming in by early next week, hopefully I can get the laptop by the end of next week.
-
My rig came with a free copy of Assassin's Creed Syndicate. However, the graphical bugs are overwhelming for my current driver, 353.62. GeForce Experience does not state that there is a new driver and manually downloading one from NVidia does not recognize any hardware at all. Not too sure what is wrong. The setup is a i7 6700 and 980M inside the P750DM-G.
(Sorry if this was solved before, last time I saw this forum the last page was around 150.) -
Speaking of free games, those of us who purchased from eurocom, are we just SOL on the free games?

Ah yeah. I am planning to use an eGPU on this laptop anyway when GP100 releases. So I am not too worried about the internal display. I imagine the display must be really nice though. -
It turns out that now the most recent NVIDIA driver is 359.0 (and has optimizations for AC) and it looks like p750DM is not represented (again). So I took the liberty of editing the 359.0 driver's nvcvi.INF (located in Display.Driver folder; added in hardware ID for both 980m and 970m). I again used Display Driver Uninstaller ( http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) in safe mode to uninstall current driver and disabled driver signature enforcement ( http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/) before installing. If people are able to install it without the modded INF let me know I will remove.
@myx sent in a ticket to NVIDIA and they are supposed to put the hardware ID for the 750DM.
FYI:
Hardware ID for 980M:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1617&SUBSYS_75031558
Hardware ID for 970M (I assume):
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1618&SUBSYS_75031558
MODDED INF:
nvcvi.inf
Lines added to [Manufacturer] section:
%NVIDIA_DEV.1617.7503.1558% = Section039, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1617&SUBSYS_75031558
%NVIDIA_DEV.1618.7503.1558% = Section039, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1618&SUBSYS_75031558
Lines added to [Strings] section:
NVIDIA_DEV.1617.7503.1558 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M "
NVIDIA_DEV.1618.7503.1558 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M "Attached Files:

And don't expect 359 drivers to contain the proper info. Should be another one or two more revisions before they put it up, i guess.
I already tried them and they don't work without modding the inf.Last edited: Nov 20, 2015Grizzlington likes this. -
Hey folks! figured I'd post my stock and OC numbers:

Graphics Score: 10009 (+.3%)
Physics Score: 12652 (-1.3%)
Combined Score: 3724 (-.5%)

XTU: 1271 marks (4.3% improvement)

So overall about a 7% improvement. I was able to run a 46x core ratio, but it crashed at 47x, and 46x was throttling a bit, so I went with 45x. But I'm not planning to keep these overclocks in, it doesn't seem worth the extra stress on the machine. Maybe at the two-year mark I'll do a re-paste (presently diamond IC from the factory) and try again. Planning to keep the machine as my primary laptop for at least 5 years. (RAM upgrade is next, once the faster sticks become cheaper).
Next I'll look to see how much I can undervolt while remaining stable, but will spend much more time confirming stability since I plan to run the machine at that undervolt from here out.hmscott likes this. -
hm there seems to be smth fishy with ur cpu, a 12.5% overclock and zip improvement in physics score? did u loosen up ur tdp and amps in xtu? since temps seem to be fine, it rather looks like a power / current throttling problem...
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk -
I appreciate your response, and no - I did neither of the things you mentioned. I simply used the 'basic tuning' feature in XTU. Do you mind providing more specific guidance with regard to increasing the TDP and current limitations? I am somewhat new to overclocking with XTU.

That's where I was hoping a retailer could stand up and take the lead, and reach out to Clevo to find that info out. I believe contacting the manufacture directly would be more of an appropriate role for retailer. I'm standing by to see who steps up to the plate. -
I saw one retailer saying the HDMI was version 1.4 on the customization page.. doesn't that sound wrong?
-
they all should be HDMI 2.0 but the discussion is whether those HDMI ports support HDCP 2.2 which is a big deal with all the new 4K content coming out. It means you won't be able to hook your laptop up to a projector or tv and play 4K protected content. Which that kind of content will be very common place now that the 4K Blu Ray has been finalized and has now entered the market.
