im able to eke out 3h on mine with everything switched off and underclocked. with skylake that could potentially bring it to 3.5-4h. no guarrantees on that though, just a rough guideline :)

That model is the LG Philips LP156WF6 that apparently most of us P75xDM-G users got. It's a pretty sad panel, with max 60hz refresh rate.

I get about 2.5-3h on mine with settins as jaybee83 adviced, but I do work it out even on battery, it's not like just editing a word or such. I usually keep wifi on, brightness @ 20-30% depending on ambient light and am usually downloading stuff to the hdd (means the hdd is awake also). In this scenario I almost always have some video playing in the background or foreground.

    Hey!
Between a single Crucial MX200 500gb or a raid 0 array of 2 x Crucial MX200 250GB which do you guys think is the best option?
Price is pretty much the same, I just wonder how the P771DM will handle the raid array as I read somewhere it loses speed when all three m.2 slots are being used.

    Thanks!

That's the only 15" 1080p panel that is (currently) compatible with G-SYNC as far as I'm aware. To my knowledge all G-SYNC panels are 60Hz - any that are listed as 75Hz are simply over-clocked by the vendors at the factory (this applies to the 17" LG 1080p panel that comes with the 770DM). Look at all the current 15" and 17" laptops that offer G-SYNC, and you'll find they ALL use the same LG panels (for 1080p). There's a reason for that.

It's a decent panel - very bright, but the colour coverage isn't as good as the 15" AUO panel that was used before (as the AUO panel is apparently not G-SYNC certified).

There is the 15.6" Samsung screen (different from the 4K model) but I don't know its model number...this screen was not supported in ZM systems but is now in DM.

Do you know of any displays supporting both g-sync and free sync? Something tells me and may be competitive in mobile next year...

it depends what you value more: increased sequential speed (raid) or higher low file size IOPS (single drive). the former comes into play with transferring large amounts of data made up of large files, such as media, iso files, etc.

the latter is more important in everyday operation / OS / programs / games / etc.

with all things being equal, i would always prefer a single drive to a RAID config :)

    Hi

Anyone of u guys know when Nvidia will start supporting 'Clevo's GTX980M cards with new hardware id?. Currently im stuck with 353.62 drivers from Clevo website because not a single driver from Nvidia website sees my graphics card (and i failed to modify drivers or use laptopvideo2go page according to steps on page 134). On thoose stock drivers everything is working preety good (P750DM-G laptop), got around 8700 points in firestrike with 6700k all stock, but thoose drivers are 2,5 months old and i was hoping for newer ones (heard something about g-sync fixes from nvidia today).

p.s if u dont have usb optical drive, downloading drivers from Clevo website takes hours, only Asia server works (at least it was like that 2 days ago) and it breaks connection over and over, with around 150KB/s tops to Europe.

    Thanks

I'm choosing between 6600k and 6700k CPU. I will use laptop for gaming on 1440p 3D vision monitor.
I plan to order 330w PSU and overclock both CPU and 980M.
Do you think there will be a significant difference between these 2 in my scenario? My understanding is that GPU will still be a bottleneck.

I also noticed that upgrade from 6600K to 6700K costs $150 where is the price difference between in retail is less then $100. Might make more sense to order 6600K now and upgrade later when price difference will decrease.

I’m also debating 4K display over 1080p. I assume I will have to use 200% scaling in windows. Will it look any better than 1080p on 15’’ display?

For me, $100-$150 just doesn't make much difference on a $2,000-$3,000 system so why not just get what you want and get it now and be done with it (that was my rationale when I got my 770DM) I could understand if you were talking about a component that was costing 30% of the systems cost etc. but the price difference between the 6600 and 6700 isn't that kind of concern.

From a technology stand point, if you support mobile G-sync you support freesync. It's a question of firmware.

Ok that's hilarious, I thought that was a joke at first. Not that there's anything wrong with him, he's doing his best job with his English, it's just funny because the look in his eyes is like he's seen a ghost or like he's about to get run over by a tank. He should be the official Clevo mascot.

scan computers uk says that my bios version 1.05.01 is up to date, they say that clevo responded them that there is 1.05.04 but its in tests atm and clevo representatIve said not to update customers with that test version , they said that final release might be 1.05.05. what versions you have boys ?

and yes im on performance mode all time and clocks hungs up at 3.47 after a minute of gameplay and stays like that until system restart

i think same issue is described here under cpu 3d performance section.
they say in comments that final bios solves it but i was told by my clevo reseller(Scan Computers UK) there is no final version yet.

That's the issue I was referring to. You should ask MySN directly to which version they were referring to. Maybe they tested a more up to date version.

    Hey guys,

I just received my 751DM-G, I tried to download driver from clevo's website but it's impossible to download them from europe links and USA links gave me corrupted files.

Any idea about where to download drivers from an other website ?

    Thanks.

not really, i mean just look around online, people have been using friggin msata ports to connect desktop egpus *lol* sure, more bandwidth is always better than less, but my point was: even if u have one of those two-port controllers installed, would that actually mean that ud get double the bandwidth when using one port? sounds more like: either u can have two ports or just one port, but the bandwidth per port doesnt really change...

each port at pcie x2 sounds like it makes sense, I guess that means external graphics won't really be a viable option until Oculink makes its debut, unless you want to use proprietary.

whats the native resolution of your screen? if its higher than 1080p and u have windows set to scale to more than 125%, its actually normal that ull notice some blur in certain areas, e.g. the device manager.

It's a 1080p screen. I don't understand why Windows sets by default 125 % it's better with 100% there is more space for working !
