What's the difference between the P750DM and the P751DM?

The MXM PCIe lanes (from CPU controller) are completely separate from the storage PCIe lanes (from PCH controller) so there is no overlap and no effect on each other in this regard.TomJGX, Lurker Below and Red Line like this. -

neither, the differences are only concerning the fan exhaust grills both are plastic though, just the finish is different, as octiceps already mentioned...

http://www.anandtech.com/show/9650/samsung-announces-950-pro-ssd-their-first-consumer-vnand-nvme-ssd
"The use of M.2 for the 950 Pro will impose capacity limits on the drive due to the smaller size of the M.2 form factor compared to 2.5” SSDs. This means that the 950 Pro will come in 256GB and 512GB capacities. Next year Samsung will be releasing a 1TB version of the drive based on 48-layer third-generation V-NAND once that tech is ready and plentiful for consumer drives."
"Wrapping things up, Samsung tells us that the new 950 Pro drives will be going on sale in October. The 256GB drive will hit the market with an MSRP of $200, and $350 for the 512GB drive. Compared to the very difficult to find in retail SM951 these prices should be more than competitive, though compared to the current 850 Pro there will be a significant price premium at these MSRPs."

Can't wait to see some inside pictures of the beast... But just look at those huge exhaust vents at the back! -

It would sure be nice if other companies offered lapped heatsinks!

The P870DM is already featured on LinusTechTips for having a GTX 980.
And apparently, there is (or will soon there will be) a P775DM.hmscott, jaybee83 and deepfreeze12 like this. -

We have just finished first tests of P751DM.
Configuration: Hyperbook X15DM (Clevo P751DM), Intel Core i7-6700K, 16GB DDR4 2133MHz Hyper X, GTX 970M, 128GB Samsung SM951 (as boot device, in the second M.2 PCI-E port), Windows 10 Home. No heatsink lapping, no FN and 1, Prolimatech PK-2 paste.
Cinebench_R15 score: 876 points, maximum CPU temp: 83℃
Blender BMW test: 2:30 min with CUDA, max CPU temp: 75℃, GPU temp: 59℃
3D Mark score 6 913 points: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/8656574, CPU temp: 81℃, GPU temp: 61℃
Are fans loud? Their are pretty the same as in P751ZM, same as speakers. Although we did not test any of Sound Blaster options.
We can also confirm that this model supports Thunderbolt. There is a driver on DVD and you can install it. However we did not test any Thunerbolt hardware yet. -
P.S. with SLI 970M and single 980. -

So as exciting as this laptop is I will not be buying it unless it comes with a Glossy Monitor, and I'm a Clevo Batman Die Hard. Yeah yeah... I get it "some" gamers like the matte. But side by side a glossy monitor will always look better than a matte screen.
Nearly all 4K TV that are sold are Glossy
All your phones are glossy.
The image, and colors pop more on a glossy.
So I sure hope all the resellers are listening... I'm waiting for a 17" 4K Glossy... I'm a government purchaser large volume and the guys like the Glossy screens they look better.
I'm frustrated to learn some retailers like Sager said they will no longer be offering Matte, though I don't know if that's the final and official word on the matter, but I've spoke to Clevo directly it sounds like they may come out later, but it appears like it's more of a supply issue perhaps.
Retailers it be helpful if you could inquire and see if Glossy will be coming down the Pipe. I'm willing to wait until Feb for this. Other OEM's will be offering Glossy.moviemarketing likes this. -

I like how you capitalise 'glossy'. Glossy. -
Having it as an option makes sense of course. But I matte looks better to me in 99% of real-world situations.hmscott and Ionising_Radiation like this. -
lets see what the regular sized mxm version of the 980 can do

@XMG, will higher resolution screens be available in the future?
-
Anyone know if the new 980 mobile version will be compatible with the p750zm?
-
@SaintFishes: well have to wait for regular sized mxm boards from clevo first. also, expect to get lower performance from those cards due to smaller tdp envelopes, so it might not really be worth it if you already have a 980M installed. for users with 880M or 780M it might be an interesting option though, if pricing of those regular mxm 3.0 B boards is not THAT much different from the 980M

Hmmm interesting, thanks.
