Me too. I'm curious to see how much bigger than the P377SM-A it is in order to accommodate the robust cooling solution it will need to run a 6700K and two 980Ms without spontaneous combustion being of concern lol. Or even better two 990Ms!

    Most of them are.

That being said, considering what it is you're trying to accomplish, you would've been better off using a sumo wrestler as an example. Fat, but athletes (strong ones at that).

But you're smart enough to know that fishing up a few niche examples doesn't change what I was getting at. A 300lbs fat sack-of-turd vs a 400lbs fat sack-of-turd. One is much fatter than the other, but they're still both fat sacks-of-turd.

But good thing you dropped by, as I very much enjoyed those two Ahnold pics. Takes some giant men to make him look small.

What are the chances for a i7-6700K and two 980Ms, getting enough power from the 330W PSU? :D Would it be even possible without any clocks whatsoever, and some hearty undervolting? Makes one wonder...

According to the pdf that was posted, it will be a little bit longer and deeper but the height will be less than the thickest point of the current p377sm-a and a bit heavier as well.

Yeah, I'm sure most will, especially if overclocking and pushing to the limits, but the thing is, will a single 330W be sufficient for a stock system without any clocks and unvervolted as much as possible. :)

It might depend on the CPU inside and what you have the TDP set to, if you bring the CPU back to mobile levels or a bit above of power then yes.

Its highly unlikely they won't require dual adapters for that machine. My 4940MX and dual 980Ms at stock pull a peak of 325W from the wall. You're going to overload a 330W adapter in no time unless you drop the TDP like Meaker said but at that point what did you buy a desktop CPU-toting machine for?

it would make sense at times to be able to leave one of the psus at home for travel / work etc. i dont think it should be too difficult, considering one can just switch off sli and voila, have 100W less to deal with :)

I guess it would be plausible to use just one 330W PSU, but with no clocks whatsoever and a good undervolt on everything... It would be a good option if you need to say, travel a lot, and then just use the other 330W of the PSUs at home for gaming, overclocking, etc. Though that is for the 970Ms/980Ms, I guess the 990Ms will be a whole different beasts to begin with... :D

Its quite probable that 1 PSU could be enough but there won't be any wiggle room. This is also with the old 300W, not the 330W PSUs.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/htwingnuts-sager-np9570-clevo-p570wm-review.709694/#power

Keep in mind that's with the older 680M cards. I didn't find power consumption figures for 9xxM upgraded P570WMs.

Intel should design its CPUs such that when they're idling, they literally draw zero power. Perhaps do it the Qualcomm way by bolting on an ARM/ULV x86 chip to the big i7, and transfer loads to those units under mild loads.

But then there's race to idle, and it helps to have powerful chips to get things done quickly.

Cable and mounting orientation/LCD cover size. The current g-sync IPS panels in the P770ZM has a different mounting orientation and I don't know if they support the same size LCDs.

Buuut we'll see. If it can be put in easily we'll be perfect. Or if somebody creates a new 120Hz panel? Maybe 8-bit colour? =D? =D?

I was planning on getting the p750 but the size and weight differences for the p770 are minimal so I'm gonna go for that.

Does anyone have a recommendation on pre ordering and from where? I see rjtech.com, origin pc and mythlogic.com have it. Origin doesn't seem to have the additional power adaptor options available, mythlogic.com didn't seem to have online credit card ordering. Didn't try rjtech.com yet.

Planning on doing 6700k, 16gb ram, 980m and 2x 330w psu with Converter. Will do cheap ssd and larger sata hdd for storage for now and upgrade hdd later on.

+1 for Mythlogic. I pre-ordered my P770DM through them after much research into alot of the different resellers. I'm not sure what you mean by then not having credit card processing, they take all the same forms of credit as every other vendor along with Paypal and even 90 day financing etc. Their customer service is awesome and because of their size and background they are very much geared towards spending the time necessary to putting your new machine together properly. I compared the exact same specs between them and 3 other vendors and they also came out as the cheapest to boot!

    Thanks for the feedback.

When I clicked through the forms it looked like my selections were going to generate an email as opposed to an online ordering system. Perhaps I just need to go through it a screen or two further.

Are the mythlogic models gsync? I didn't see the option when I was configuring.
