Could someone please post the stock BIOS and EC for this laptop? Or, where could I get it without emailing Sager?

Hey guys, get my NP8173 today. Quick question, anyone try OCing the screen to 100hz? Is it smoother than Gsync+Vsync?

Does anyone know if x2 9.5mm HDs will fit in the HD slot.

I have 2 2tb 9.5 in my current laptop that I want to switch over.

Pretty sure this system accommodates 1x 9.5mm drive or 2x 7mm ones.

I know it says that but you have tried.

    I once had a m18x r2 with x3 9.5mm HDs when it said it can only do x2 9.5mm and 1 7mm. All 3 9.5mm fit just fine.

You sure? Previous model P650 could do 2 PCIe drives (Skylake model with 970/980M)...

just got my 670rs today from LPC digital. Very nice machine, in the process of downloading some of the games i want to play this weekend.

I am having issues with my wifi dropping out every so often. I updated the Killer Drivers and that doesnt seem to help. Is there a good troubleshooting checklist to go through to see what the issue is?

Uninstall Killer suite. Install bare drivers from Device Manager. Tis the only way to get rid of Killer's crappy software.

Just got my P670RS today, I did notice the wifi kept dropping since I installed the latest bare killer drivers, so I just rolled back to the stock drivers that Windows installed and it works fine again

Does anyone have the service manual for these machines ? I just got a P670RS and wanted to know how to remove the keyboard and I only get a few pages fro mthe service manual from my supplier. Don't think they want to send the full manual.

Would love to get the full manual.

Am I 100% sure? No. I have not tried it. But all resellers offer to put only a SATA drive into the second slot. And one of the video reviews I saw mentioned the same thing.

If you can install the basic drivers, they'll outperform intel.

But if you're running Intel, I suggest WLAN Optimizer and using "disable background scan" and "enable streaming mode" for proper stability.

The stock temp is great from what I've seen early on in the other thread. Just go with stock and run some games or benchmark for temps and see how they turn out. If you don't like it, repaste. I would recommend grizzly kryonaut or gelid gc extreme. ICD is also great. For me, I don't trust anyone else except myself when repasting since I hate it when people spread them first before putting on the heatsink. Also, you never know if they are doing it well either. The main thing is it is a lot cheaper, I mean a lot to do it yourself. You can use a tube multiple times for a long time and I've seen a distributor charge like $25 for ICD repasting. Pure ripoff IMO. All you need is some research and a little time to repaste. It's not hard.

Give it some time. There is some 'set in' period for the paste. Let it go through some cycles of heating and cooling. Then see if the temps gets better.

Use something like 97% or above Isopropyl alcohol or ethanol or whatever you can find locally. Make sure to clean off the stock thermal paste well without any dust or residue. This applies to both the CPU&GPU and the heatsink. Don't use something like a hand sanitizer or something with other ingredients in it other than water. Make sure it dries off before applying new paste. Normally they just evaporate, I like to use 99.99% ethyl alcohol so...I recommend a little line of thermal paste for rectangular shaped and a pea sized for square. Put it on carefully as in line it up before squishing the heatsink. Squish it and hold, put the screws in. Finally do final touches on screw.

If you want to see how they spread, whether if it is full coverage or not. Take it off, look at it, repeat with the amount of thermal paste adjusted. If you like how the temps show up regardless, you probably did it right, so just leave it there. Keep monitoring your temps while gaming or so and see if thermal paste degrades. Rinse and repeat. If you buy a tube that is more than 3.5g like gelid gc extreme, it will last you pretty long. I repasted two laptops with it and barely used it. You have to be really careful to push the syringe only just a tiny bit in or too much will come out.

I've said this before and I'll say it again.. You will be fine without Prema mod with P650/670... Just make sure to keep temps under control with good paste and thermal pads...Stock firmware is mostly fine, just as long as temps are not absurd... @Nagisa_Shiota

After a bunch of gaming sessions my P670RS-G rarely goes past 60-65C, obviously will be hotter if I do a continuous full load but the cooling on these is pretty decent with standard pastes.

A small undervolt also helps a lot with temps. My CPU was hitting 90 before an undervolt and now it is a happy 70

The undervolt is on the CPU core voltage.. Start with -50mV, that should definetly be fine however -100mV should also be doable.. Play a few games and see if its stable.. After -100mV go up in -10mV increments till it becomes unstable..

For HIDevo, Killer is the base and intel cost extra.

Is p670rs upgradeable? I mean like upgrading cpu/gpu in a few years

You forget the Cache voltage(or you included it in CPU core :D). @Laric Go and grab TS 8.30 in @unclewebb 's signature. You find it in Throttlestop guide. Best and easiest tool for tweaking your processor

I don't know if we have enough reports. I just got mine and it has practically no light bleed. But if I just got lucky or if it's the rule I am not sure.

Yesterday i finaly got my P670R from Multicom with i7 6820hk, gtx 1070, 16gb ram and 512gb PCIe ssd.

Ben doing some fiddling around, windows 10 pro and latest drivers all installed perfectly. And of course i ran some benchmarks on it.

In particular i ran Heaven Benchmark 4.0 with all settings to max on 1080p ressolution. Out of the box my score was 1470ish, with a slight overclock on the GPU it whent up to 1490 ish. I dont know for sure, but shouldnt this notebook perform better out of the box?
