Reflexnotebook in Canada doesn't have a 17.3" 4K option for the P670 with the GTX1070. Is it possible to upgrade it myself? If so what part number would I be looking at?

I don't suppose anyone here knows of a fix for the external screen lag? Plugging in an external screen causes a single core on the CPU to jump up to 100%usage, and can only be fixed with unplugging the screen and restarting the laptop. In the Task Manager it shows that ntoskrnl.exe is the cause.

Go ahead and do it, no harm in doing so.. Innovations and options are always better..

The only stuff been frowned upon is tools taking stuff from Prema and branding it as their own..

So I was noticing constant ~20% CPU usage when on Discrete mode with multiple monitors, I have an unusual setup (2 external monitors with the laptop screen off), and when I went into MsHybrid mode initially, the CPU usage was near zero but gaming performance had stuttering everywhere. I then noticed that the Intel drivers were detecting only the laptop screen, but not the 2 external ones, whereas the nVidia drivers did detect the 2 external monitors (both through DisplayPort), so I disabled the laptop screen as an available monitor, which then disabled the Intel graphics, so just the two external monitors are running on the nVidia drivers, plus CPU usage is zero, and gaming performance is unaffected. I do not know exactly where this issue originates, but at least have resolved it.

Urg, I wish that was an option for me o_O I use a single external monitor, with the laptop screen being the secondary. I also noticed that the problem is not there on Hybrid mode, but I want to use Discreet mode for G-Sync.

It's driving me crazy that I can't figure it out, and neither can XoticPC, Sager, or the internet :(

Sounds like it's nVidia drivers causing an issue, or it might be firmware being dumb.

You should be able to enable gsync in Optimus mode, as your external displays should be routed to the dGPU (which is why the iGPU isn't seeing the external screens).

What happens if you disable and enable the screen in windows, does flicking it on and off change anything?

Even knowing what it might be would help. I'm on the verge of getting a refund from the re-seller, as even Sager can't seem to figure it out. I have tried clean installations (while disconnected from the internet) of the default Sager drivers, and the latest Nvidia and Intel drivers. I have also tried system resets, using the Windows 10 feature (complete reset).

If I enable Optimus, there is no option to use G-Sync or Fast sync. From the Nvidia forums, I understand this to be normal. I use a single external screen as secondary to the laptop screen.

@Meaker@Sager Yup, tried all that. The only thing that brings it back to normal is unplugging the external and then either restarting or putting the laptop to sleep and then waking it. I have also tried using the HDMI port as well as the display ports (with an adapter to the HDMI input of the external screen).

Is there anyone with this model who does not have this issue, with an external screen? Or is there any way to trouble shoot more?

I have no external issues in regards to cpu usage or latency. GFE uninstalled, everything regarding shadowplay and nvidias bloat disabled, with CCC .73 im on 372.90 as well. RP6G but I haven't used gsync. Even if your using external gsync monitor ide still go discrete mode (one im always in)

I have everything in Nvidia CP to also give maximum performance instead of power save or dynamic and disabled Intel's silly 48hz refresh rate while on battery switching.

GFE unistalled, running the latest Nvidia drivers. All power settings (Windows, Control Center, Nvidia) set to max performance. Formatted PC twice using the W10 reset feature. Did a complete wipe both times. Tried fresh installs of Nvidia drivers (latest and Sager stock) while disconnected from the internet. I've even tried the XMG EC and BIOS updates. Still no dice....although the fans are a bit quieter. I've downloaded Sager CC .81 I have been running in discreet mode, but that's when plugging in an external monitor causes issues.

If there are some people who are not having problems, then it starts to make me think it's a hardware issue? I bought this over a month ago and it just hasn't worked right. First a faulty speaker, now this. I guess I'll give it a working day or two more, and then just get a refund. I've spoken to XoticPC and Sager so much that I think I'm just annoying them now. :(

All you need to do is disable uefi mode in bios for w7 to work.

Valhalla! Its like 70% or more on nvidias driver side. High latency has been major issue for awhile even with Maxwell...they can't even get gsync to work half the time (because its really freesync)

And they say amd drivers are broken... Ide honestly give NV like month to fix kinks seems theyre giving mobile pascal less love.

Nuking GFE has reduced latency for some but try also checking services and disabling everything tied to nvidia you dont use. Ie 3D and streamer.

But...even a 5930k and two 980ti are brought to a crawl with nviddys dpc issues on my own desktop. Sigh. Like i can't overwatch and multitask if not dpc skyrockets on nvidias side. Thanks green.

Urg, I'm so torn! I love the look and feel of this machine, but I'm scared that if I wait a fix won't come out and then XoticPC won't take a return. I bought it 6 weeks ago o_O

Its going to be a thing present in most if not all pascal mobile systems potentially. Its what we get for early adoption! If your liking everything but ide keep it since its driver related because they have to address this no matter what and clevos already aware and looking into it.

They're not going to leave something like this hanging out to dry :)

It is all handled directly by the GPU in dedicated mode. Seems almost like the 144hz high clock issue.

Under volts do vary a fair bit chip to chip, so careful testing and then leaving some margin is a good idea.

Guys, Am I wrong or this notebook is a Clevo P670 rebranded by Medion?
I'm writing from italy and I could buy from the national "official" Clevo reseller (called Santech)... but I trust no small company.
So, even if Medion has quite a "bad reputation" between the experts, I would prefer to take this Medion because of the excellent warranty provided by Amazon.
    Any considerations? :)

It definitely looks like a clevo base but medion seems to have changed quite a few cosmetics obviously and potentially something under the hood at that rate.

I don't think it's a P670RP6... the weight is 0.3KG heavier than Clevo says, and the height dimension is also different. Its basic shape and the grills at the back are the same though... If that is a P670RP6, then it's been rather heavily modified. I don't know whether to trust it.

Well, that's it for me. Requested a refund from XoticPC today. I simply can't have a laptop that can't run duel screens, and no one at Sager or Xotic seems to know that the problem is.

Last night I did a complete format using the Media Creation Tool, was in discreet mode and stayed disconnected from the internet, and all the latest drivers I could find. Plugging in an external screen still causes a single CPU core to jump up to 100% usage.

I'm really glad I kept my current Sager. Maybe I'll try again in a few months.
