It's going to be seller dependent. Sager resellers typically ship with all hardware required for any drive installation. Direct sellers may do a bit differently though. Always best to ask the place you buy from.

Boot into safe mode, uninstall nvidia driver, reboot into safe mode, flash card again, reboot, reinstall driver.

And relax, you can even flash your holiday pictures into the vBIOS area and it won't brick, it's impossible on this system. Believe me I did everything possible to it. :)

I am waiting for those Batmen to break this score, sadly. At least I know my system runs like a champ when doing work.

That is ok, I expect a 4790k to shatter a 4710hq, even at same gpu. You said turboboost hit 3.5, did you oc cpu in any way?

Nope. It used to be an issue of throttling or HQ processor dropping from max turboboost (which mine should be 3.6GHz). Most of my tests were ran at 3.4GHz. Only that specific one went above due to possibly having a bit more power than the other tests. Notice that the graphics score dropped a few points but went up everywhere else when comparing my two top runs. (9360 and 9346)

Once that Dell adapter comes in... I'm gonna see if I can break 9700.

Haha the race is on! Got your point, I forgot you had 4720. With this one multiplier for 3/4 cores is 34 correct?

Yeah. Thus why most of my tests were within the 3.4 GHz range.

It shouldnt be too hard to do on your own. Everything you need is either on these forums or on TI Forums.

So you think in this one most of the time you had 2 cores active?

I think it went to 2 cores only during the Combined and Physics test. How my laptop did it on its own is a mystery. The XTU at the time read most of it at 3.4.

Did you try to play with cpu? Can you overclock it without hitting power throttling ?

I never power throttled with the P650SG. Even when GPU is overclocked and CPU hitting 93C, no throttling at all. The crashes happen outside of XTU.

Interesting. In the p35x it is instantaneous, setting the 3/4 cores multiplier to 34 and huge power throttling pikes occur in XTU benchmark / unigine heaven

It was one of the original reasons why I returned the P35X-CF1. Couldn't make full use of the CPU, power adapter was insufficient, and a hardcoded throttle limit. That and the constant driver failures.

If anyone wants to upgrade to the Killer Wireless-AC N1525 M.2. module I suggest buying it through HIDEvolution. They sell it for $55 plus shipping whereas Sager wants $85 plus shipping (XoticPC quoted me this price and I assume this was from Sager).

I'm having spikes with my Intel 7265 as reported by other owners of these Intel Wireless cards, I initially wanted the Killer card however when I ordered my P650SE they didn't have it as an option until the next day and my parts change didn't go through before the system shipped.

I also have another 256GB 850 Pro SSD sitting next to me waiting to be put into RAID-0. I realized I needed the extra storage and should have gotten a 512 but RAID is always an option and I believe these drives are extremely reliable. The extra 3mm in the P650SG sure is handy since it allows you to stack a 7mm SSD with a 9mm HDD, rather than being limited to one 9mm or two 7mm.

I can safely say that I had zero ping spikes or connectivity issues on wireless with the 1525AC. I havent tested Bluetooth though (I dont normally use BT) and may have to check that soon enough.

Hmm, just got my P650SE and set it up. I tried a few games (Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2) and the system refuses to use the GTX 970m. I can set it in the nvidia control panel, but it still won't use the 970. Once I close the control panel and open it up, it has reverted all my choices back to the integrated GPU. Right-clicking the games and choosing "run with..." still won't use the 970.

I tried with the graphics driver that came with the laptop, and then with the latest 347.09 drivers - same thing.

Triple external monitor setup help... So I tried to use all 3 external monitor ports and when I try to select them (have my laptop closed so it disables the built in display) it doesn't allow me to. Intel will only allow me to select two external monitors. So far, the only work around I had was to use the wireless display option (intel widirect or whatever it is called). Does anyone know of or have a better solution for driving 3 external displays?

    Thanks in advance.

I dont remember the voltage at the time...

I wouldnt due to lack of power. Once I can confirm that the new adapter can run stable at higher clocks, it should be fine. Artifacting means Cakefish pushed the memory up too high.

I forgot to mention. Individually I can select and use each monitor in the settings or any combination of two of them. I just can't select 3 when I do it doesn't allow me to save that specific configuration.

One of them needs to be native displayport or you need to use an active converter. The card can only produce 2 display clock signals.

yupyup, most definitely the beginning of dust build-up inside the system. after a while its normal that more and more dust gets stuck in the heatsink fins, thus the system heats up faster, once the temp threshhold is reached the fans start spinning until the temp falls below that threshhold and they switch off again.

dust buildup varies by the location, temperature, humidity, general enrivonment the machine is placed in. if theres no sign of dust whatsoever when u open up the machine, then it could also be related to your specific fan settings in the hotkey program, different auto fan profiles due to different system bios / EC flashed or maybe also degradation of the TIM used for GPU and CPU.

    cheers

I'm trying to decide between the Intel 7265 and the killer 1525. Has anyone done a benchmark between the two? I'm interested on knowing how do they compare on throughput a far distance, and power consumption. On the driver side, any issues with any of the two? Thanks.

Sorry quite old, but going through old posts as I consider purchasing. With no overclocking is the ic diamond thermal paste even necessary?
