Pretty much lower right corner is grayer. Ingame, I dont notice much issue in any.

EDIT: So a quick edit. Did a test at a distance at 100% and 40% brightness. The only notable backlight bleed is the upper mid and can only be seen if you're looking extremely carefully for it (on the pure black wallpaper). The rest cannot be seen, but this is during a well-lit area. Will do one final test after work in 12 hours to see if the bleeding is truly bad on black. In games so far, its not an issue.

Is the only difference between P650SE and P651SE the finish? Can anyone post a close-up of the P651SE's finish?

So i've flashed the BIOS to Prema's and used the desktop modded driver for my 980m, and at +135core & +200mem im getting 11.000 gpu score on firestrike. max temp was 71c.
The cpu on otherhand was getting 81c max at everything stock.

Next step will be oc the cores and undervolting the cpu, and then i'll flash the gpu and clock the **** outa it :D

When it comes to flashing a new BIOS is there a step to step guide on how to do it?
I mean from like step 1 to done.
Seems simple enough but don't want to brick anything doing it the wrong way.
I will admit I have never done it before so I never really looked into it but man PREMA really does a great job and looks very much worth it.

Is there a simple (software) way to confirm the existence of the Fingerprint device on this laptop ?

I can see the fingerprint reader between the touchpad buttons, but I cannot get it to function, so I guess there is no fingerprint device inside. When I installed the fingerprint driver from the DVD menu, it told me "The device was not found..." (photo below).
    phAV0hu.png

However I could install the driver manually. Although it did not work it still shows in the Device Manager as below:
    PL6JueL.png

Is it possible that I do have the fingerprint reader but it is defective, or I do not have it at all ? Can anyone with a functioning fingerprint reader tell me what you see in the Device Manager please ?

Same exact name. If you're trying to get it working for Windows 8/8.1, you have to set up finger scans through the Account setting page from PC Settings menu (located on right taskbar).

I've noticed a weird problem lately. I power options I've chosed the computer to go into hibernate when I close the lid on battery, and sleep when ac adapter is connected. But when I open the lid after hibernate (ac adapter not connected) I have to wait like 1-2min before the power button reacts and turns on the computer from hibernate. Any idea how to fix this? It's a bit annoying.

Just received a 650se yesterday and noticed that one of the USB ports on the right side is almost impossible to use. I have to use extreme force to put something in the port and taking something out of the port needs two hands. Is this something that I need to break in or is it a defect?

What storage drive do you have your OS on?

Thats not normal. See if the fitting is crushed in some way. You can probably bend it back into shape or RMA.

I have strange/hard Freezes/ FPS Drops while gaming. graphics freeze and sound stops for 1 second. This happens every 3-5 minutes.

Bios Update to 1.03.05 is flashed...same problem.
    With and without OC....same problem
    drifferent graphic driver...same problem

anyone has the same behavier with his book?

It is where I check the functioning of the fingerprint device. Unfortunately the option to sign in with fingerprint reader never shows in the Account settings menu, no matter what I do.

I ran out of power if I attempt base clock of 220 or more. Just checked my ASIC quality again... 73.9%. For the memory at 400, thats before artifacting. Not sure if more power will help there yet.

Try re-installing it from the disc drivers and attempt to set up finger scans with Windows 8 method.

It's an issue with all mobile Haswell chips so far that I know of..

My old P150EM can still hold 3.7GHz quite well without reaching 90C.

Should work . Just beware that at 3.2GHz is when you start hitting high 80's and lower 90's.

sounds like a system bios issue to me. funnily, one of the first bios updates for clevo models always includes a fix for this resume from hibernation issue :D check and see if u have the latest bios and ec flashed :)

might be a dumb question but: habe u tried different devices with that usb port?

Mine is Unknown, so maybe I don't have the device.

soo... i tried to flash the gpu and followed LoneSyndal's list:
    To install:
    1) Disable the graphics unit in Device Manager
    2) Run Update file in vBIOs folder. Hit "y" for both entries.
    3) Reboot laptop after flashing
    4) Re-enable the graphics unit
    5) Overclock the GPU by +140 (if and only if it still stutters) or more to get rid of stutter as P-state issue is widely known

and now i cant find the 980m at device manager when i try to re-enable it :/

would love some help, sry for all these questions :p

Shows the exact same thing for mine, except in English.

Just making sure, you did use Prema's BIOS mod first before doing the vBIOS mod? (though it shouldn't cause your problem)

If your GPU is currently undetected, you can try to force it via GPU-Z and switch if available. You can alternatively try to re-install drivers to see if it shows up that way. Unknown devices (as Meaker stated) is where it would usually show. I remember going through trouble to get GTX 765M working before through same issues.

Did you manage to save your stock vBIOS before attempting to flash with a modded one? I would recommend sending Prema a message on here or TechInferno if you're still unable to detect them.

I think its related to BIOS or vBIOS. Can always attempt to reflash either. If your system BIOS isnt detecting it, thats another problem altogether. I'll check my laptop's BIOS in a bit after I get some work done.

alright, i think ill give reflash a go. Tell me when u know, much apriciated :)

Update: re-flash did nothing. still no sign of 980m in device manager. tested bf4 and got around 5 fps so the dGPU is not on
However when i did the flash, it didnt look like i even flashed it. Just some dots and a beep and i barely saw somewhere in the mess "success" and the cmd when down. Should it be like that?

actually,i looked at some youtube clips how to flash, and i think i have flashed the gpu in the wrong way. On the clip, they say taht u should do alot of things, whilst prema's README notepad doc says that all i should do is press the bat file. whiole on youtube, u should format a usb drive and do as you do with a bios flash... have i just bricked my gpu?

That's how the flashing worked for me. I reflashed like 10x due to me glitching the settings when going beyond PSU limit. Your card is still there apparently. Just the system itself doesnt see it. Want to PM me a teamview session? Will need the ID and pass to check it out.

EDIT: My system BIOS doesnt show the card either... guess that's just how this is.

The usual method would be to create a USB bootable with DOS, placing the necessary files into the root of the USB drive, and then run nvflash -4 -5 -6.

The Update.bat works the same way, but done within Windows. Either method works, the first one usually works most of the time and the second method tends to be limited to certain machines, software, or hardware. (as in not everyone could get it to work)

I thought that being the same/similar machine, The Update.bat would work for everyone here.

DHL now have my shiny new P650SG and should have it delivered tonight or tomorrow!! Very excited (not least because I've had no laptop for three weeks lol). I have a question though; I bought the 480gb m.2 SSD + 1tb 5400rpm option and I bought myself a 1tb 840 evo SSD to install once it arrives. Will the laptop always come with spare screws for the extra hdd bay or will I have to 'borrow' two off the 5400rpm drive? Either way, I'm looking forward to some 980m goodness!! :D

If any one would have the same problem as i. I solved it thanks to @LoneSyndal, big rep to him!

First uinstall with DDU in safe mode, then after the reboot you go into Driver Signature Enforcement and install a officiall driver. and violá - its working :D
