MSI GT72 also has a 17" IPS in some configurations. Could it be the same part?

I'm praying that the 17" model has an IPS option as the P771 will then most likely have IPS too.,.. I want a IPS screen on my notebook!!!

Since i had an LG IPS screen before ordering, i ordered from another cheaper (ips-less duh) british P650SG reseller, my reseller told me it's december 8th or 9th, four minutes ago ^^.

I don't mind as long as they send it to DHL next week :). but been waiting for the 980M the minute its specs leaked. sold my gt60 right away I've been gaming PC-less for 2.5 months can wait an extra week ^^, i'm already lucky enough to be allowed to pay a certain amount of money for a gaming laptop.

At long last, I finally ordered mine. I should have it in two weeks, crossing fingers.. Gone with the 3k screen, I hope 8.1 scales good. At worse it'll run on 1080p.

On the 3g/lte module, I've tried asking both schenker and pc specialist, as I'm interested in using it (I depend on my mobile carrier basically 11 months a year :D ), and both told me it should be possible to add it later. Mysn.eu should add an option to add it in their configurator by next week, they told me, while pcs said they could order it but don't normally have it in stock.

First thing when I'll remove the backplate will be to check the motherboard for this, and maybe try to waste some money, I mean, look for one to buy and try it myself in the next months. :D

I've just ordered the P651S for multicom aswell. I'm just really curious if the screen is 30 pin eDP? I'm planning to buy a IPS screen sometime soon, but ofc only if it's a 30 pin eDP. Do you know, or could you check?

If you ordered the 1080p, you'll have a 30pin edp, once again, the SG version is just a 980M and a thicker (part plastic) chassis.

If you look at the diagram on the Eurocom Samsung sheet panel, you'll see that the 4K panel is 40 pins.

That's because edp 30 pins is 2 lanes max 1080p, edp 40 pins is 4 lanes (max 4K and up (maybe 5K). edp supports multitouch, variable self refresh rate, better energy savings etc

I think it's the standard Full-HD TN screen. I just read something that myth seller said, that it could be something "LVDP" type of adapter instead of 30pin edp?

Sager is not a part of the Pick your Path promotion.

That is the date for Sager to get them, but that is essentially for any resellers since they ship directly from Sager even when you order from a reseller.

    No news on that model

As of right now no. For Sager/Clevo only the MXM socket GPU's are 6GB and these are integrated on the motherboard.

If an adapter was to be used it would be built-in the screen. Clevo produce the same 1080p barebone for all resellers, the TN version was replaced by a eDP screen (HTwingnut / dabeer), and the IPS version comes with a B156HAN01.2 (europe) edp or a LP156WF4SP-xx (sager) edp. i didn't see an LVDS p650sg as of yet ;), so don't worry.

absolutely, except if it's a direct Clevo resellers, never understood why you guys don't order directly from clevo ^^, a lot of people complain about the sager RMA/support whereas they're very happy about your services.

In europe all resellers are directly ordering from clevos (and laptops to repair are sent to clevo in taiwan directly),..and they have laptops quicker :)

What all do we know on the 4K panel options? I am looking for the best color space and true 60hz refresh, I really wish they listed the full specs of panels on the information page in 'configuratiors'.

    Sharp ($275):
    IGZO TFT IPS
    60hz
sRBG <80% ?? (I saw somewhere it was high)
    ??ms

    Samsung ($175):
    aSi TFT IPS ??
48hz ?? (like the other 15.6" panels used in other laptops)
    sRGB ???%
    ??ms

Placed order with xotic :) can't wait... It feels like I have been waiting forrrreeeevvveeerr to be able to spend my money. Now I have to wait forrrreeeevvveeeerrr to get it! Only worry is now I have two IPS screens and I am hoping it has the EDP so that the one I already purchased will be compatible. I guess I'll have to do a review/ comparison of the two.

The 1080p IPS screen has a 12-12 est. date. That is what I got in my email when I ordered mine on 11/26 and it still shows that on the website. I have my fingers crossed they come in early. I ordered almost immediately after they added the LG IPS 1080p screen.

What kind of screen did you choose? I see your reseller offers only standard matte screen for same base price. You might want to double check with them.

Yea, me too. I got swayed a little with external displays (spent a couple of days researching the Eizo FORIS) and new IKEA desks for a bit, but I'm happy with a U3 on my lap in my bed.

Just noticed, XoticPC is not noting that you can't have 2 9.5mm HDD/SSDs installed in the NP8652, if the first bay has a 9.5mm HDD then the second bay should be noted to not have space for anything just like the NP8651.

As I've said a couple page before, a certain european reseller should update the configurator with a 4g/lte option by next week.

Also, on the SG chassis you can have a 9.5mm and a 7mm hdd.

on the p751zm on the other hand, you can

as tentenkun already mentioned, u can indeed install a 9.5mm drive alongside a 7mm model in the SG. its only the SE that has the 2x7mm restriction.

As long as you playing at 1080p, 4GB of vram should be enough. once you know there is a 8GB version, it is tough to pull the trigger on the 4GB. Most likely by the time you really need more than 4GB, you will be upgrading anyway to a GPU that can handle 4K

I suggest you go and read mythlogic posts about the difference between the eDP and LVDS screens. The difference is in the motherboard, thus if it is LVDS you won't be able to change it for eDP and vice versa.
