Hey Guyyyyyyyyyyyyssssssssssssssssssssssssssss:
here the test with a gtx980M
XMG P505 Review (GTX 980M Laptop) - HardwareHeaven.com
wwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww
I'm just thrilled
-
-
I have a single RAM slot and now I want to upgrade it.
Do I have to put the new slot below the keyboard or installing below de laptop would be enough for activating dual channel?
I'm saying this because without installing together I don't have dual channel.
-
it depends where ur first ram stick is installed. u have to either fill both slots under the keyboard or the two slots below the backplate in order to get dual channel
btw, good find thrall! i will add that review to the OP shortly -
DID YOU SEE THE TEMEPRATURES ............. I can't wait to get mine ... BUt unfortunately teh GTX980M will be delivered at 9th to them... (yesterday it was the 5th)
-
Verstuurd vanaf mijn HTC One met Tapatalk -
For removing it just need to remove the screws and then push upwards slowly.
Am I correct? -
For that, u better ask an actual owner of this machine, since I don´t own it myself But yeah, basically that´s pretty much it
-
-
The fan holes have been re-adjusted on the p650SG,
Probably that with other feedbacks from the SE, caused the little delay...
As i said, PCspecialist told me from the beginning : december 9th for them to get the barebones. CANNOT wait just bought (or had):
Far cry 4
Civilization beyond earth
Dragon age III
COD AW
AC : unity
Final fantasy XIII
Valkyria chronicles
BF4 (finally in ultra)
LOL/world of tanks.
team fortress 2
man tons of games to finish ^^ !Last edited: Dec 2, 2014flamy likes this. -
Hi guys, been lurking for a while now trying to find myself a decent laptop. Looks like i'll be getting this one with the IPS screen.
Question: I live in BC Canada...would the best place to buy be XoticPC with the Canadian warranty shipping option?
I've been caught out with a faulty laptop before and really want to buy from someone with good after sales support. Or is there another better place to buy from in Canada?
Thanks in advance. -
well, eurocom is a canadian reseller, sooo.... not sure about their customer service though, as opposed to xotic that got a pretty good rep here on the forum

interesting info, here i thought that pretty much all upper-tier MSI machines would share the same audio quality
-
Finally December. Still feels like a long ways to go until the 12th, when Scan is due to get hold of the SG chassis. I may even finish Dragon Age Inquisition before I get my hands on the new laptop.
-
Be sure though to check on their policies with canadian shipping though, I'm in the USA but if I remember correctly you guys should have no problems in terms of shipping speed. Anyone else experienced issues with Canadian warranties for Xotic PC? -
Awesome yeah thanks for that...basically am just concerned about warranty claims.
Was looking at the y50 or the MS60 but way too many people complaining about problems (rubbish y50 UHD screen, ghost pro heat issues) -

I can feel it with my HTC One (M7&M8). Also made from aluminium and they get really hot.
I also think the plastic bottom improves the wifi strength a bit. I know it does with the HTC One phones.
I dont think a good quality plastic bottom is more worse then one from aluminium. -
I like plastic if it's lighter and other aspects of the cooling are good, otherwise I would prefer aluminium or otherwise for structural rigidity and a quality feel.
I would love to see some benchmarks between bottom panels, but I suspect it won't be a huge difference, and it may be more accountable to fan hole locations if they revised it on the SG. With my bottom panel removed, I don't see much of a temperature change during games / benchmarks. I see a much bigger difference with the laptop propped up in the back by an inch or two.weav likes this. -
So, I just ordered my Sager NP8651 from Xotic PC this weekend, and left it stock except for opting for the 4K screen. I figured the price premium was worth not worrying about DIY screen replacement, and getting a great all-around screen, even if I won't be doing much 4K gaming with the 970M. I'll also be upgrading to 16GB of RAM at some point down the line.
Now my question is on SSD upgrades. I asked about this before, and the general recommendation was to replace the HDD with a 500GB SSD, but I think I'll be better off keeping the 1TB HDD and adding an M.2 SSD, since I realized I'm going to have a lot of school-related software to install when I start grad school next semester. So a 500GB drive would be pushing it for space. I'm now looking for 256GB M.2 SSD options, and I don't see a whole lot. The PCIe options are a little out of my price range, so I have been looking at the SATA options. It looks like the Crucial M550 is the best option, and is even on sale for $255, but seems to be out of stock everywhere. The other options I'm looking at is the Transcend MTS800, but I'm not sure about Transcend's reputation in the SSD world, and haven't found much in the way of reviews or benchmarks for this model.
Does anyone have any experience with the Transcend MTS800 SSD? And does anyone know where to find the M550 in M.2 form in stock and/or when it will be back in stock at the big resellers like Newegg and Amazaon?
edit: It looks like the Transcend MTS800 is currently on sale for $115 at Amazon, which is a pretty attractive price.Last edited: Dec 1, 2014tfast500 likes this. -
I was told the Metabox Australia models are:
"1080p IPS matte LED LG LP156WF4-SLB5,
3K matte LCD 15.5" WQHD+ / EDP (IPS PRO ) PANASONIC VVX16T020G00 LED 3.0MM,
4K glossy PLS SAMSUNG LTN156FL02-L01 (LED) 2.6MM."
Was looking at getting the 3K Panasonic & on panelook.com it says that model "VVX16T020G00" is RGB Vertical Stripe, not RGBW?
If it's RGBW I might just get them to order in the Sharp 4k IZGO IPS for me. -
Waiting on P650SG release in US seems to be forever!

Question for all SSD owners out there! What do you reckon of the price tag of 349.99 USD for Samsung 840 Evo 1TB SSD? Is this the lowest price ever listed for 1TB SSD?

Got an email of XMG, my 670 will come in at 15.12.,
they changed their website too, only one option of CPU (4710), but they include the nvidia voucher now...
No big deal for me, since i am ordered the 4710 with gtx980m -
I am looking at HD options. M.2 pricing is much higher than conventional SSD because of their new technology which allows read/write speeds > 1GBps. I cannot spend a lot on HD at the moment, but yes, this Samsung Evo 840 1TB drive has got my attention. -

Here's the datasheet for the Panasonic panel, as carelessly left online by Eurocom:

The Samsung datasheet is here:

(And it's full of fun info!) -

one reviewer at Notebookcheck.de has posted in a thread that he will do a review soon. (he said he already got the Notebook at his desk.. this lucky guy) -

As for the plastic D cover, I know it's just the bottom, but having the aluminium down there would've just made it that little bit more special.
Probably still going to buy one anyway. -
no surprise, mySn has stated on their website FAQ / tech specs of the P651 from the very beginning that the back cover of the SG will be made of plastic
mySN.de and LoneSyndal like this. -
We're talking the bottom panel not the screen lid right?
I don't have any problems with that, one good thing it seems the vents align much better with the fans on SG model's bottom panel
It would have been nice to have an all aluminum chassis but that in itself would not make me not order this laptop.
I actually prefer a plastic bottom panel, they are easier to mod and much cheaper to order if you need a spare.
So all in all it's not a big deal . -
-
Anyone have a source for drivers yet? Seems neither Clevo nor Sager have them online.
-
-
New laptop was delivered yesterday, already can't stand the screen it came with. Has anybody done a write up on how to swap out the screen yet?
-
-
Anyone has tested FC4? Horrible stuttering here!!!
It's really weird, it only stutters when you move yourself not when moving the camera. -
Out with the old!
Swap is pretty simple. As you might see....I couldn't find my spudger, and wanted to get this in ASAP so a guitar pick was my tool of choice I struggled with one of the clips on the bottom near the eDP cable, but after realigning the display several times, I got it to cooperate. The new Samsung 1080p IPS display is gorgeous. Good grief, it's amazing. No dead pixels, minimal backlight bleed for an IPS / PLS style display

No cracked version ?
latest nvidia driver 344.75 ?
Optimus settings ?
