I'm having this issue when I'm on battery. Whenever I look on something dark on Chrome or any other application, the screen becomes a bit darker, and when I look at something white it becomes lighter again. I think the ASUS laptops had this too, it's quite irritating imo. Any way to remove this?

Hey guys...so i was going to buy some kingston HyperX Impact memory today when I noticed that the dual channel kit 2x8gb is 25$ more expensive than the 2 x single stick qith exactly the same specs.

I know dual channel kits are tested to work together....but is there an actual tangible risk if I just buy 2 x single sticks of the same memory?

just go for the single sticks, should be fine :)

strange though, based on my experience dual channel kits are actually the slightly cheaper ones...

There have been very heavy USD-RON(RON is my local currency) fluctuations lately where the USD went from 3.3 RON to 3.9RON today so i think that's the source of the price difference.

My guess is the 2 x single sticks atill have the old price

I have a question about the Display Ports.

The specs state: 2xminiDisplayport 1.2 (up to 3840x2160@60Hz each)

Can this laptop support a greater rate than 60Hz if the monitor is a 1920x1080 that can go up to 144Hz?

GPU never goes above 76C when overclocked using Liquid Ultra. CPU cannot be overclocked due to Current Limit Throttling as TDP approaches 60.

Currently satisfied with this laptop as it provides the minimum for my needs. I was thinking of going for the ZM but may wait for a refresh before I jump on the DSR boat again.

    Hi guys!

I'm planning on buying a P650SG with Killer 1525 WiFi card. However after reading through this topic, I see that there are some issues with it's Bluetooth functionality that have been fixed in EC 1.03.06

Currently, only XMG offers this EC for download on their website. My question is: Does the EC from XMG work on any branded Clevo notebook?
Also, what's the difference between EC and BIOS?

    Thanks!

I can only find it for the SE model (i.e. 970M) not for the SG (i.e. 980M) model, or am I incorrect?

Alright thanks :) Lot's of people seem to (have) switch(ed) over to the Clevo P650SG/P651SG.

So the EC 306 from XMG will work for any rebranded Clevo, e.g. for Schenker, Sager etc ?

No. There are two different connectors for display and the 4K uses eDP while the LG uses LVDS (from what I remember reading). I haven't updated here for a while due to being busy/work so I can't remember details off-hand.

Thanks. I am just looking for a gaming laptop that I can bring with me when I travel especially this summer when I won't be home at all. I am deciding between this and the P750ZM and was wondering if you got it because your posts in this thread have been really insightful.

The P65XSX has better battery life for mobility anyway. The ZM is solely for enthusiasts or heavy duty tasks that you probably dont want to run on the go regardless.

LoneSyndal is correct. LG IPS uses a LVDS 40 pin connector. Not compatible with the eDP screens.

Hey guys, I just got a Sager NP8652 (Clevo P650SG). It's a good notebook, but the GPU fan seems to be always on when I set the fan to automatic, even if I'm not using it. Is this normal? Is there a BIOS or EC update or something that fixes this?

With every laptop using a different EC setup even within the same brand then it would be a nightmare to code.

I think i've seen that the repaste on this one was quite easy, as it will be my first time at opening and touching the inside of a laptop, anyone have advices or precautions i should take ?
I've looked at some videos about the inside of this laptop, so i will have easy steps to follow !

I was going to make a similar joke with IPA, made me thirsty mate.
I actually have a question regarding M.2 4G or 3G module, if I install one and then I insert a SIM card in the slot, will I be able to receive SMS and see calls I receive with this SIM? Because I currently have 2 SIM cards (1 UK subscription and 1 French for when I go back home) and my second mobile phone (where i have the french SIM) is starting to die and I would like to know if I can use my laptop instead

    Hi,

    Nice finding.

Can someone perform a benchmark such as above for dual channel 1600/11 ?

omer.sak , can you provide the actual settings u made for each game for consistency ?

Because I am deciding between purchasing another 1600/11 ram or two 1866/10 ram.

If there is not significant difference, I just get another 1600/9 for dual channel.

    Hi all,
First post from a recent owner of a P650SE with Win 7.
I've been reading this topic for the last four months and finally decided to order the P650 last month, it has been with me for two weeks and I'm more than happy with the buy and the performance i'm getting.
Just like the user wdabc (i already tried writing in his profile), that posted here some issues with HDMI Output on the 21st of December, i'm also having the behavior from Laptop, only problem is that I didn't check it right after the clean install, so what I will try to do is System Restore to see if it lies with a specific Windows 7 Update.
Will post later on the results and also would like to ask for further steps if it isn't related to windows updates.
    Thank you,

No Output detected. HDMI Cable connected and working properly with other PCs, TV detects the output but Win 7 can't detect the external monitor.
Lastest intel and nvidia drivers installed. I have an "Ethernet Controller" and an "Unknown Device" in Device Manager that Win can't find the drivers too.
